IPhone :: Earpiece And Speakerphone Do Not Work Only During Phone Calls
Mar 13, 2012
Everything functions fine on my iPhone 4 except the native phone app. I can dial out and answer calls. However, I cannot hear any sound coming out of the earpiece or speakerphone and the person on the other end of the line cannot hear me and the iPhone shows that we are connected. I use apps like Skype and Viber and I am able to make and receive phone calls fine. I can hear the caller and they can hear me. I restarted my iphone, I did a hard reset. I even backed up my iphone and restored it to default settings and the problem still persists.
All of a sudden, in the middle of a call, the other person could not hear me. It was not accidentally switched to speaker (I checked). After trying to call back a few times, I figured out it would work on speaker. I found a thread where someone said they took a pin and cleaned out the small mic, and that worked for them. Having no pin, I tried a paperclip ... and it seemed to work ... for a couple minutes. Now its back to speaker only! Also ... I now notice that when I try and use voice Google ... The phone does not hear my voice. This phone is only about 6 or 7 weeks old.
I've read several tips from others about this problem (cleaning the headset jack, switching back and forth between speakerphone and regular, etc.). None of them have worked...
Experiencing super low microphone volume when using hangout calls on speakerphone/video calls? The other person i'm calling says they can barely hear me.
My LG G3 has been acting up lately. I can't hear a thing through the earpiece when I'm making and receiving calls. Call quality is okay because I can hear clearly if I put it on speakerphone. I don't know if this is a software issue or hardware. I'm afraid that when my phone is heating, the earpiece is getting damaged or something.
I just upgraded from an S3 to an S5 a few days ago and I'm loving it so far. One thing that's bugging me though is that whenever I'm using my phone as an actual phone (Who actually makes phone calls anymore, right?!) there is an annoying buzzing/rattling/almost kind of like distortion) when the person is talking to me. It usually goes away if I turn the volume almost all the way down, but this is obviously not a practical option since I'm not always making phone calls in a dead silent room.
The speaker phone works fine. This only happens when I'm using the earpiece. Is this normal? Is it related to the camera autofocus sensor rattle? Are the sound vibrations from a person's voice enough to set off the rattle? It's really annoying as I tend to make phone calls a lot and I don't like using speaker phone or a headset. This was never an issue on my S3.
I have nokia E5 6 months used now I had earpiece problem if any one calls me I cannot hear sound through earpiece but when I activate loud speaker then I hear sound.
My wife has a W380i when she calls a person or receives a call, she has to put the phone on speaker for herself or them to be heard we have tried turning up volume and changing profiles etc. Why? All other functions are fine i.e. walkman, games plenty of volume.
Since yesterday I can only use my X8 by speakerphone or bluetooth device. Through a normal phone call, people can hear me, but I'm not able to hear them. I already repaired the phone using PC Companion, but no help.
I have a very undusual problem with my new Torch 9810. Suddenly the mouthpiece and earpiuece stop working as I am unable to listen to incoming calls and the reciever of my call is unable to listen to me. The phone rings fine but there is no voice. Even when I am making a call, I dint hear the ring tone whereas the reciever phone is ringing. This problem can be resolved by wiping all my data (format) and reactivating my enterprise account.
I have found that the earpiece volume after the JB update, when you pick up a call is very loud and can't be lowered unless you rock the volume buttons during the call. Even if you leave the volume low during the call, on any subsequent calls the volume reverts back to being very lound and you have to do it all over again. I didn't have this issue on ICS. I did notice it on the leaked OTA before the official OTA also. When I reverted back to ICS after the leak and before the official OTA, the issue fixed itself.
My mic does not work in speakerphone mode. I does however work in normal phone mode, and at the same distances that it does not work in speaker mode. Google voice search works just fine. I'm certain that the mic is not the problem. A factory reset did not solve the issue.
Today I discovered my speakerphone was not working. On phone calls, the speakerphone light comes on but the audio only comes from the earpiece. Every few calls, the speakerphone starts working midway through the call. On Skype video calls, the same thing. The audio comes only from the earpiece. I have removed and reinstalled Skype. No change. The ringer works as do all the notifications so the speaker is working. I have tried disabling bluethooth to make sure it was not interfering. No change.
I recently replaced LCD digitizer and I can't hear voice calls unless in speakerphone mode.. Either I messed something up when I put it all back together or something else is wrong...
So today has started yet another problem. Now when I go to answer my calls or make a call, it is automatically on speakerphone. I turned my phone off and it helped for a few calls and now the problem has returned. I have heard of USB ports going bad or something of that sort (not really familiar with it). Hopefully this is not what happened, yet then again maybe I could get a refurb not riddled with problems.
On a phone call, the earpiece will not work. However, speakerphone will work and earphones will work.It refuses to play media audio, either through the earpiece or the speakerphone. However, it will play through the earphones.
When in a phone call I can't hear jack out of my earpiece speaker, have to put it on speaker phone to hear anything...So is there a software bug, or do I have to warranty out my device?
the bluetooth problem with 4g i have used the earpiece many times and has worked now all of the sudden it wont connect to my phone ive tried restarting the phone, forgot the device and now the phone wont find it. PLEASE HELP!
So I connected my Bell Vibrant to my Win7 X64 PC via Bluetooth, and all sorts of funny issues happen when attempting to control dialing from my PC, and use my computer as a speakerphone. To begin with, the "Hangup" button doesn't work, plus whenever I press the "Connect" button to "Use this computer as a headset or speakerphone for calls on your phone (Galaxy S)," the phone starts dialing the number written in the "Make a call to this number:" field (when there's a number written there--otherwise it would start dialing the latest dialed number) without my having to press the "Connect" button. Ain't that funny? Anyone else going through this?
While I'm on a call on speakerphone, the phone will go to sleep. The problem is that when I am finished with the call, I cannot end the call until after I wake up the phone. I would rather the phone stay awake during the call so I can end it right away. I have tried some apps that are supposed to keep apps awake such as Wakey without success.
The volume on the earpiece does not go up quite enough? Maybe it's my old ears. We know the speaker is capable of it, but in a noisy environment, I find myself tapping the volume-up, even though I know I'm at the top already.
The speakerphone isn't working for my phone, which also includes the ringer and anything not including the earphone speaker. I dropped my phone and it cracker and only the speakerphone was working. I opened it up and a few things became disconnected including the ear speaker and camera so I reconnected them and they worked but then speaker stopped working after I had taken it apart. Did I somehow manage to disconnect that or ruin the connection? Any tips would be appreciated I think that the speaker is located on the plastic housing that the keypad is attacked to but im not sure.
I typically use my phone on speakerphone when having a phone conversation. It's just easier to hold and talk with it in my hand in front of my body or else I set the phone on my desk. My screen time out is set to two minutes, so after I've talked for a couple of minutes my screen goes black. Then, when I'm ready to say good-bye, I can't figure out how to get back to the phone active screen! If I were holding it to my head it would automatically go to the phone screen, but when on speaker it doesn't. As a result I usually wait for the other party to hang up the phone. Tapping the power button doesn't do it.
How to I return to the phone screen after my screen has timed out and I'm on speakerphone?
