When I save contacts to the memory card I get a file named 00001.vcf. When I open this file in outlook it seems to contain only the first of all my contacts. Can I open this file in another way to get all my contacts? Is it possible to import all my contacts to Pc Companion? When I syncronize the phone with this program I only get the bookmarks exported from the phone to the program. No contact is exported. I have already lost my contacts once and will be sure that I have saved them correctly.
View 6 Replies View Relatedthere seem to be a bug that I dont seem to be able to find out how to fix, the problem is that i dont want the phone to connect to a wifi network everytime it recognizes one, basically i have few prefered wifis that i use, but i do not want the phone to connect to them automatically. what i already tried is disabled wifi scanning, filtered out those networks that i dont want it to connect to automatically - still no luck. What i wouldnt like to do is delete the networks to enter the password everytime i want to connect...isnt there an easier way around, at least for the phione to ask before connecting to the wifi...

I have backed up data via Desktop Manager for a Curve 8520 which has recently been stolen. I would like to import only the Contact List contained in that back up data from the stolen device to a new Curve 8520. However I do not see any method to do that other than to "Import Files" to the new Curve from the backup data via Desk Top Manager from PC. Is that possible or is that not the mechanism to accomplish this??
View 4 Replies View RelatedDue to glitches with the 5.1.1, I performed a back up, repair and restore as recommended in these forums. However my contacts seem to have been wiped out and it doesn't give me the option to import contacts stored on my Google account. All in all the 5.1.1 has been the upgrade fro **bleep**.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter emailing the voice recorder (m4a) file to my desktop, in iTunes I click on "add file to library" and choose the file. Nothing happens, and the file does not show up in iTunes.
I need to do this in order to get these files onto my iPod.
My desktop uses Windows 7. I have iTunes 11.1.3.8.
The Internet says that m4a files can be imported into iTunes. What am I missing?

I have Windows 7 installed and have seriously tried everything to fix this, deleting old back ups, cheacking my firewall, unintalling and reinstalling itunes, deleting pictures that may be corrupt. I just plugged my phone into a USB connected to my sisters MacBook and it backed up perfectly! Is this something wrong with my computer?

While we were on vacation my brother in law upgraded to an iPhone 4 and I bought his old 3G and jailbroke it using Spirit. I also unlocked it to use on TMobile. Now that I'm home, I wanted to sync it or back it up so that I wouldn't lose apps and such. I don't have any music or videos on it but would like to do that eventually also.
1. I tried to sync some TV shows and it said that this iPhone was associated with another iTunes library so the sync would erase what was on the phone and replace it with what's on my Mac. My question here is, does it just erase things like videos and music, or will it also torch my apps and erase the jailbreak?
2. I notice when you right click the iPhone icon in the left side pane in iTunes there's a "Back up" option. Does that backup all of my apps to iTunes without erasing data on the phone or messing up the jailbreak?
I continue to get an error message without a specific error code when trying to sync and update my iPhone 4S (5.1) to iTunes (10.6.1). This started after an Apple Techincian had me restore the iPhone because I was having WiFi issues, which continued even after the fact. This is a replacement iPhone 4S. My original 4S had battery issues and had to be replaced. Unbeknownst to me, Apple replaces with refurbished iPhones, a practice I do not agree with. I experienced the WiFi dropping from the get-go with the replacement/refurbished iPhone 4S, but hung in there hoping it was just a fluke. It appears this iPhone 4S will need to be replaced.
Back to the issue at hand. I have removed all backups from iTunes. Of course now I have no backups stored on iTunes or iCloud.I have run Disk Utilities to repair permissions. I have reset the iPhone. I tried to restore it, but it will not restore since it cannot backup current data. I have made sure all OS software is updated. I have made sure permissions are unlocked in Backup folder on my HD.

when reformating or migrating to a new computer i know you can copy the itunes backup from the mobilesync directory and basically continue using itunes on the new computer without having to erase and sync the iphone again. However is this method the same for migrating from a pc to a mac or vice versa? Are the backup directories similar just as the itunes library directories are similar?

I broke my iPhone screen and now the touch screen doesnt work so I am unable to unlock my phone at all to use.
I wanted to find a way to import my text messages onto my computer that doesn't involve having to actually unlock and use my phone.
I read somewhere that itunes backs it up, but where/how do I find that? And if itunes doesnt work, is there a program I could download and not pay for? OR do the programs you buy actually work?

Before I activated my new iphone 6+ today ... I backed up my old iphone 4 into my computer through itunes.Â
After activation I went into itunes to restore today's backup into the new phone and the backup from today vanished.Â
Part of the problem may be that when I plugged in the new phone itunes asked me to update their software in my computer.Â
Is there anyway to retrieve my backup from today?Â
