Mar 7, 2015After emailing the voice recorder (m4a) file to my desktop, in iTunes I click on "add file to library" and choose the file. Nothing happens, and the file does not show up in iTunes.
I need to do this in order to get these files onto my iPod.
My desktop uses Windows 7. I have iTunes 11.1.3.8.
The Internet says that m4a files can be imported into iTunes. What am I missing?

Mar 27, 2012My iPod crashed, so in the meantime I figured I'd use my iPhone. Hooked it to my computer, recongized it fine, Music, audiobooks seemed to transfer to my iPhone fine (I can see them AND play them through tghe iPhone from my computer in iTunes) BUT - Anytime I go to my iPhone on its own - disconnected from my computer - and launch iTunes, all I get is Store information. I cannot seem to locate ANYTHING I transferred (and I KNOW is on the phone) using iTunes. If I go to "More" as a control and try to launch "Configure" everything is blacked out and I cannot reconfigure anything. It seems like iTunes on my iPhone won't recognize anything I transferred.

Apr 14, 2012I have moved my iTunes library to a new Windows 7 PC and cannot transfer music from the new iTunes PC to my iPhone 4S. The iPhone will only accept music transfers from the original iTunes PC. I have come to understand that an iPhone can have only one "daddy" iTunes PC, but have not been able to find out how to change the "daddy". I have done a backup of the iPhone, and a "Restore to Original Settings". Then I restored the content using the new iTunes PC. My Apps and contacts, etc. are back on the iPhone, but it still won't accept music from the new iTunes PC.

The songs are still able to be played on my iPhone but in the iTunes account, to the left of the tick box there is an exclamation mark, and when I click on the song to play it, a box comes up telling me that "the song can not be used because the original file could not be found." Is there any way of me being able to get the songs from my iPhone back onto my iTunes account?
