I can't backup my iPhone 4 iOS 7.0.4 to iTunes 12.0.1.26. It keeps disconnecting even though its connected via cable and wifi on. I've also removed the previous backup. Hoping it would cure the error but it didn't do any good. After removing it, i never got to backup my phone again. What to do?

I have Windows 7 installed and have seriously tried everything to fix this, deleting old back ups, cheacking my firewall, unintalling and reinstalling itunes, deleting pictures that may be corrupt. While we were on vacation my brother in law upgraded to an iPhone 4 and I bought his old 3G and jailbroke it using Spirit. I also unlocked it to use on TMobile. Now that I'm home, I wanted to sync it or back it up so that I wouldn't lose apps and such. I don't have any music or videos on it but would like to do that eventually also.
1. I tried to sync some TV shows and it said that this iPhone was associated with another iTunes library so the sync would erase what was on the phone and replace it with what's on my Mac. My question here is, does it just erase things like videos and music, or will it also torch my apps and erase the jailbreak?
2. I notice when you right click the iPhone icon in the left side pane in iTunes there's a "Back up" option. Does that backup all of my apps to iTunes without erasing data on the phone or messing up the jailbreak?
I continue to get an error message without a specific error code when trying to sync and update my iPhone 4S (5.1) to iTunes (10.6.1). This started after an Apple Techincian had me restore the iPhone because I was having WiFi issues, which continued even after the fact. This is a replacement iPhone 4S. My original 4S had battery issues and had to be replaced. Unbeknownst to me, Apple replaces with refurbished iPhones, a practice I do not agree with. I experienced the WiFi dropping from the get-go with the replacement/refurbished iPhone 4S, but hung in there hoping it was just a fluke. It appears this iPhone 4S will need to be replaced.
Back to the issue at hand. I have removed all backups from iTunes. Of course now I have no backups stored on iTunes or iCloud.I have run Disk Utilities to repair permissions. I have reset the iPhone. I tried to restore it, but it will not restore since it cannot backup current data. I have made sure all OS software is updated. I have made sure permissions are unlocked in Backup folder on my HD.

when reformating or migrating to a new computer i know you can copy the itunes backup from the mobilesync directory and basically continue using itunes on the new computer without having to erase and sync the iphone again. However is this method the same for migrating from a pc to a mac or vice versa? Are the backup directories similar just as the itunes library directories are similar?

I seem to have lost my data in iphone 5s. It is asking to either setup as a new phone or restore from itunes backup. The last back i did was today afternoon when everything was intact. But once the iphone was connected to itunes, it automatically started backing up the device with no data (as it was wiped out), now when I attempt to restore from itunes backup all it does is restore from the latest backup.This afternoon's successful backup does not seem to get listed in the list of backups. I own a Dell, unfortunately, and recently got entriely overcome with viruses to the point where no software could help me get rid of them. In order to solve this problem I reimaged my laptop (which consists of only saving my music and documents on an external hard drvie, wiping clean the entire disk to factory settings and then starting over) Once finished, I redownloaded the newest version of iTunes (10.6 I believe) and plugged in my iPhone 4 to backup it up to my now empty laptop. However, when I plug it in iTunes will recognize my iPhone but will not sync it or back it up because it says, "The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library." It then asks if I would like to erase the iPhone in order to sync it to this library. I clearly do not want to erase my iPhone and I no longer have any saved backups because they were all erased in the reimaging of my laptop. What do I have to do in order to backup my iPhone to my laptop? This is a problem because I do not want to lose everything on my phone if it breaks or gets stolen etc.

I just deleted an iMessage thread on accident. I went to plug my phone in to restore from a backup I did last night, but of course it automatically synced as soon as I plugged it in, and now it wants to restore from the backup it just made (in which the messages have already been deleted).
