My mobile operator upgraded to 4G. Now i have option only to enable/disable 4G but not 3G. Is there a way to disable 3G also to save my battery life.

How can I disable the power save mode in Nokia C2 01? I want the digital clock screen saver to appear all the time when I am not using the phone, but what currently happens is that few seconds after I stop using the keypad, the whole screen dims and the screensaver (having the digital clock) disappears as well.

One of the main issues I have at the moment, other than no turn-by-turn navigation (sorry, had to mention it), is the battery life - or lack of!
On an average weekday I use the phone to send a few texts (no more than 10), scan the news sites (no more then 20-30mins total) and catch up on my RSS feeds (again, no more than 20-30 mins total). I'm not using the media player at all and I may make one or two short calls.
Bottom line is that I'm struggling to get more than 6 hours battery life out of it. I know smart phones are thirsty, but I don't even get to listen to music on my way to or from work! Here's what I've already done to reduce battery consumption:
Removed active widgets (such as ForcaWeather) from desktops and replaced with web shortcuts.Reduced screen brightness to 2 barsDisabled GPS & Network positioningDisabled IMDisabled BluetoothI've heard some mention reducing the amount of active desktops, but I think that kinda defeats the object of having a N900. May as well buy a lesser phone if you need to strip out all the functionality to get though the day. I'd be satisfied with 8-10 hours medium use. At the moment I'm getting around 6 hours at light use - got to be something I'm missing.
I want to disbale either the power save or change the light time out setting, but I can do neither? Can anyone assist?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get HSDPA (H bar on the bar signal) to work on my phone. I am currently working on edge right now. My carrier is AT&T.My brother has an Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro (unbranded and unlocked) and has AT&T service and he was able to get HSDPA on his phone. I have no idea how he got it nor does he know himself. What app or APN settings do I need to configure in order to get HSDPA (4G)?> I've heard about the thunderbolt app but does that work with this phone? I also tried to copy my brothers APN settings but no luck.
My preferred network right now is set to GSM/ UMTS mode > GSM only Now I know that gsm is only capable of using edge only but what changes do I need to make? I cna only select these from my preferred network settings:
Global
LTE / CDMA
GSM / UTMS
I can only get a signal when I choose GSM only?

After about a month, my new iPhone 5s has started waking me up at night with an audible tone and vibrating. This seems to happen when the battery reaches 100% charge. Since iOS 7 apparently doesn't have a full battery alarm I stumped about how to disable this. I've thought about using the "Do no disturb" mode but I sometimes use my phone as my alarm and don't want DND to also silence the alarm. Is there some feature I don't know about that I could turn off to stop these nightly disturbances? (It hasn't always done this but just started about a week ago!)

Has anyone had any experience using an i9000 in Canada on either of the three big networks (Bell, Rogers and Telus)? What I need to know is if it'll work well in HSDPA mode given that it only has one (1900) of the two required Canadian HSDPA bands (850 and 1900). What bothers me it that it looks like the one Bell is launching (the "Vibrant") has only two HSDPA bands instead of three, and I really need the European band as well (2100). Hence Bell's Vibrant won't work in HSDPA mode in Europe.

View 5 Replies View Relatedmy ATRIX 4G toggles from UMTS to HSPA and back all the time. i see that on the mobile network type under settings--> about phone--> status.
After each of these toggles the mobile network state (same status menu) is connecting (and then connected until next toggle)
i suspect this phenomena to be the reason that my internet connection is unstable (disconnected very often). I'm using original ROM w. MotoBlur of course. any way i could just disable the HSPA and check if the UMTS is enought ?
I need to do some testing with a UMTS femto cell. (reason behind my madness)Does anyone know if it is possible to flip the photon in a UMTS mode and then back to a normal state when done?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSomebody was suggesting me this, to improve the performance of the battery overclock the phone to 900MHz, it will slow down the processor but will save quite a bit of battery.
My question is: is it trueHow safe it is, will it cause any damage, working, functionality, features of the phone. What side effect, negative effect can it have on the working of the phone.
my wife has bought a new BB Torch 9800 and she kept complaining as to why the battery doesn't last that long.she explains to me that during the day (when the phone is fully charged) she uses/checks her Facebook, listen to MP3 files and play some games. but this is not like during her whole 8-hour shift of work of course. maybe during her break times. And she said that by the end of the day (by 7pm) the battery is almost fully drained.
