Can anyone explain me how to do this? I tried looking for like the two guides only available on the internet and no luck.I tried to pop it into the iPad and it didn't register. What did I do wrong or how do I ensure that it works? I will try to post a picture later.

I don't know much about sim cards. AT&T has told me two stories, and I just wanna see if anyone has experience in this area to help me out.
I just bought a microsim card from an AT&T store. Reason being is I'm doing an upgrade swap. The main line on our family account is using the discount and then handing the iPhone 4 to me. I in turn will be giving them my iPhone 3GS.
Here come the sim card questions. Since an iPhone 3GS has a normal sim card, the main line of our account can simply put their sim card in the 3GS and then it'll work. Correct? Are there additional steps? Do they put the sim card in and then sync with iTunes?
In terms of the iPhone 4 I'll be getting, we're picking it up at an Apple store and they HAVE TO activate it using the main line. So from what AT&T told me, I can't use that sim card hence my buying a blank microsim card.
Now an AT&T rep at the store told me that before I put the new microsim card in the iPhone 4, I have to call an AT&T rep, activate the sim card itself AND THEN place it in the iPhone 4. Another AT&T rep said to just put the blank microsim card in the iPhone 4 and sync it with iTunes and follow instructions to put it on your phone line. I don't wanna mess anything up as I only have 1 microsim card. Can anyone help me with what I should do?
i tried searching forums and also googled, but no luck,received my phone today, noticed that there wasnt a sim removal tool in the box. how in the heck to you remove the microsim?i have my old 3gs sim removal tool, but i dont want to damage the phone,i'm not sure how to take it out.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhile I've sat out for the iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS, I was unable to get my hands on a launch-day iPhone 4 this year due to work scheduling. I was able to sell my own iPhone 3GS and purchase an iPhone 4 on eBay (yeah yeah). Well, its coming tomorrow morning and it just hit me that I have a SIM card and it has a (blank, I know, I did some searching) Micro-SIM card.
Will I be able to just plug it into iTunes and activate on my account? Or will I have to actually call or go to AT&T to discuss this with them?I don't want to accidentally activate the eBay purchaser's account, since the box is still sealed.Sorry if this has been answered before. I've found questions regarding iPhone purchases based on other lines but not one like this.
I got my adapter today in the mail and already cut my SIM down ready to go. Works great with the adapter back into my 2G! The real test will be making sure it works in the iPhone 4, but I have no doubt it'll work just great.
View 15 Replies View RelatedProbably a dumb question, but I've never fully understood the purpose of a SIM card with the iPhone when iTunes supposedly syncs all contacts and phonebook entries anyway.But I believe I have my contacts stored on my sim card and I always do regular backups with 'contacts' checked in iTunes, so am I safe when the new phone comes out with the microsim? Will iTunes automatically sync all my contacts back onto the phone from my 3.1.3 firmware?And how do you get your contacts back onto the new SIM? AFAIK you can't manually put contacts onto the SIM through iPhone unless it's jailbroken.

I live in China and have a China iPhone 4S Model MD242CH currently subscribed to China Mobile. I will be going on vacation in Canada and I want to be able to take my iPhine 4S with me and change out my China Mobile MicroSIM card for a Canadian carriers MicroSIM card (Rogers Wireless, Fido Solutions, Bell Mobility, Telus Mobility, ???). This afternoon my phone started to drop calls ("call failed") and then this evening I stopped being able to call out. I can receive incoming calls but they would cut in and out, but they can hear me just fine.

My IPhone 3gs has started to cut out mid call and then reboot I notice through the internet this is a common occurance how can I stop it doing it. It is very infuriating as it doesn't do it all the time its intermittent, when it does cut out its normally around three minutes into a conversation.

I currently have Exchange account and I synchronize contacts (and other info) with the server. I want to decouple the Exchange server and my iPhone, (for example, if I delete all the contacts on the Exchnage server I want to keep them on iPhone).
If I go to Settings/Mail/Exchange and I set Contacts to Off, I imediatelly get a warning messate that all my ActiveSync contacts will be removed from my iPhone.

My x10 has over the past day started cutting all my calls both in and out after about 30 seconds when i look it says there is no sim recognised then a few seconds later it's fine again, also when i try to do a backup it says there is no memory card registered even though i can access things stored on it when it's plugged into my laptop?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I'm having a issue with Bluetooth during phone calls. I use a bt headset for most of my phone calls because then that gives me the ability to use the phone. The issue is when I'm doing things on the phone and using my headset people tell me they can't hear me or I cut out really bad. It doesn't do it every time but it happens a lot.
I'm running stock lollipop and on Verizon. I got the phone with 4.4.2 but as soon as I turned it on it got lollipop so not sure if it was a issue before. I have had the phone for 2 months now.
I have done a factory reset after the update to see if that would work...
I purchased a new ATT 1520 about 6 weeks ago. I love everything about the phone. The only problem that occurs every once and a while is my Blutooth starts cutting in and out. Most of the time it works fine. Usually it happens in my car. It will work once and then I make a stop and re-establish the connection it starts cutting in and out almost like a record skipping. I have tried to turn off Blutooth and rediscover.
I have completely taken it out of my car's discovered blutooth connections and started over. I have turned off wifi. Restarted my phone. I also thought maybe it was the Live Lock Beta app so I uninstalled and it did work but it still happens on occasion. It also happens on occasion when I'm listening to my Motorola blutooth headset. At first I thought it may have been notifications coming in but just kept doing it.
Lots of complaints from the other end of my calls that my voice cuts out and then comes back, and during the cut-out time there is noise on the line. Can't find anything relevant to Galaxy 6 edge and this problem. Already changed the phone once as I though it was a device specific issue, but appears to be something I'm doing or a setting maybe?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Sprint Galaxy S5 and I am ready to throw it out the window. I have not had a problem with the phone until recently. I can't get it to cut the WiFi off and KEEP IT OFF!! I have tried everything!! I have gone into the advanced settings under WiFi and cut off the "network notification" (receive notification when open networks are in range), I've cut off the "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" and changed it to NEVER. I unchecked the box and cut off the "always allow scanning" feature. Also under advanced settings I have cut off the smart network switch.
I have also gone into the "more networks" and cut off my connection optimizer and cut off the partner WiFi option. Even went as far as going into the Network Mode and changed it to LTE/CDMA. All of this is what I have read on the forums. Nothing is working. The WiFi is still cutting on. It wouldn't bother me if I had WiFi to connect to but because I don't it's interfering with my regular mobile data and making it to where I can't use my data. It cuts on about every minute!! Not to mention this is draining my battery! Oh another thing, I downloaded a virus scanning app and my phone is clean.
I'm just getting used to my new droid 3, and learning all of the quirks that come with it. In the past, I used my old Droid Eris to listen to Pandora over 3G wireless at work, and never had any issue with Pandora cutting out or stopping even when the phone's display went to sleep. However, on my new Droid 3, it cuts out like clockwork after about 20 minutes, whether or not the display is active or asleep. In order to try to keep this from happening I have changed the Battery mode to performance, turned off data saver (no sense running it streaming music ) and in Pandora turned auto shutoff to Never, and have tried Auto lock both on and off. I am thinking that the built in task manager may be killing it?

I get a few words in then it cuts out and I have to ring again and it does the same thing. This is the first smartphone I bought. Previously I used a bog standard Nokia. Very reliable. No problems. Clear calls. Never cut-out. Now I pay 20 times as much for a "smart" phone and the most basic and important job - making calls - it has trouble with.

This thing that annoys me the most is the software doesen't correct for gps loss. it just reads as I wasn't moving for a set amount of time. If I were to add a footpod for running...or speed/cadence for riding...would the software average the movements over time---or still cut out (record as not moving) as it does when I lose GPS signal when in heavily covered areas?

All these files played perfectly on my old blackberry curve 8530. I use my phone as mp3 player so would like this resolved. When it comes back on, it has erased all information which has been previously stored...fone numbers/messages etc.When trying to delete apps, it cuts off again.I dont know if settings are to blame or what, but it is really getting annoying!!
