I have a unlocked iphone4s and I am wanting to know if it works with a cut down virgin sim card , and if it does do I need to change any settings

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my phone yesterday via Ebay. I put my Virgin sim card into it and it worked perfectly. I could send SMS and make calls. When I got home I updated the firmware to 2.1.1.A.0.6.
Everything seemed fine but I didn't check if I could phone or SMS. I just assumed it was OK. This morning at work I realised I could not send SMS or make phone calls. I got my friend to ring me and all he got was my number could not be connected to. I can still use mobile internet and emails. If I make a call it says "Call Ended" almost immediately.
I put my sim into my friends T-Mobile phone and it works fine. It also works in my Virgin Nokia phone. I've tried a factory reset, a firmware refresh and changing the APN settings with no luck.
i have a iPhone 3GS and when i try to turn on the 3G network, on the top of the screen it's shown "No service". I can't make any call, text or internet using 3G, even if the area supports it, but if i turn off it and use the edge/gprs network everything works perfectly. I also tried to restore all settings, network settings and set the apn values but it still doesn't work. What could it be? I've finished my Apple's guarantee period so i hope it isn't a hardware problem

My phone has been working perfectly till today, for some reason, I cannot get on online using the att network. I can have full bars and a 3g signal and still cannot get on. I can get on wifi with no problem. Anyone know what could have happened. My wifes phone is also doing the same thing. We are running the 4.3.5
I tried to update and restore the phone but it will not do it.
Edit: my mother in law just came by and I got on her iphone 3gs, her phone is doing the same thing. Att says there is no problem with their network.
My iPhone doesn't connect to my network anymore. I flew from Europe to the US a few days ago and it worked just fine in the beginning, but when I went on the subway and lost reception it didn't come back. A quick restart of the phone worked the first time. Now it happened again yesterday when I went on the subway and the reception hasn't come back since....
The Phone never asks me for the PIN if I restart the phone, even though it should and all it says is "Searching....", even if I remove the SIM it says "Searching..." instead of "No SIM".

I have tried a different sim card of a different carrier, so it's definitely the Phone. I really want to avoid to delete everything.

My iPhone 4GS ( my wife's too) wireless connection won't establish as it has been doing for over 2 years. No problem getting on the net through on an unprotected network. All of the other devices that use the same home network work fine as usual. The apple store folks suggested the that I try the various resets in the Settings panel, but that didn't make a difference. I searched the forum expecting to see more people with the same issue, but don't.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy friend has an i4 4.0 jailbroke from jailbreakme. After jailbreak everything work fine for him. He had MMS working fine he could send and receive MMS no problems. Well the other day he tried to send an MMS and it wouldn't send out. It tries to send and the little bar on the top when you send a message comes up and it goes about 95 percent of the way and stops then he gets the red explanation mark after about 1 minute. So it doesn't go through. He has tried the Iphone Delivery repo and it didn't work, he has reset his network settings didn't work. Was wondering if anyone had any other advice? His facetime works fine no problems there. I assume the next step is a restore which he already knows but he is trying to fix it without restoring.

hey all been lurking for a while trying to learn as much about jailbreaking and its issues before i took the plunge on my virgin 3gs. the rave reviews about the new spirit jb convinced me, so i did it yesterday and couldnt be happier. it was so easy, in fact it was anti climactic. i was expecting something to go wrong, or some sort of headache but it was so quick and easy. im a windows vista user so i just changed the compatibility mode to win 98 and it went without a hitch. so far ive added lockinfo and im using glaskart theme. cant wait to play around to modding it more. so just wanna say thanks to everyone on this forum, theres a wealth of knowledge here.4.0, who needs 4.0 now?

It shows a red sos signal on the top right hand corner. My phone does pick up wifi signal but no mobile network signals, not even Edge. Please help I am in dire need of a working blackberry while I am in Canada.
