IPhone 5s :: Keeps Searching For Network Even Without SIM Card
Sep 10, 2014
My iPhone doesn't connect to my network anymore. I flew from Europe to the US a few days ago and it worked just fine in the beginning, but when I went on the subway and lost reception it didn't come back. A quick restart of the phone worked the first time. Now it happened again yesterday when I went on the subway and the reception hasn't come back since....
The Phone never asks me for the PIN if I restart the phone, even though it should and all it says is "Searching....", even if I remove the SIM it says "Searching..." instead of "No SIM".
I can still use Wifi though! Here is what I've already tried:Restarted the phone several times (both regular and the two-button way)Reset all settings
Reset network settings (twice)Switched airplane mode on/off several times (it was on for several hours over night)Â
I have tried a different sim card of a different carrier, so it's definitely the Phone. I really want to avoid to delete everything.
My iphone 4s keeps on searching for network. Initially i thought there might be a problem with the SIM i use. I tried using my sim in other iphone and it worked.
Other sim, they worked on my iphone. What could be the reason?
I turned my iPhone 4s on this morning and it has been 'searching' for network ever since. I have this problem a lot and it sometimes takes 24 hours to get my network (O2)
iphone 4s network is searching and the guy at Boost Mobile reset it and now it wont activate again? Nothing was wrong with it except the network searching now I dont know what to do because it wont activate or nothing what should I do??
My iPhone 3GS on Tesco network keeps saying no service or searching I think it was since I updated it to 5.1 I've restored it and checked settings and still not working been nearly 3wks,what can I do?
I bought my ip4s (brand new) on the 19th of January. And it was working fine up until last week when it stopped detecting wifi networks When I turn on wifi the "finding networks" circle keeps on searching with no success even though I used to connect to same router before. I tried everything: resetting network connections, rebooting phone. I even downloaded the latest iOS software just now. The problem seems to persist and to add to that the battery is being drained quickly even though I already turned off wifi (so it ain't still trying to connect).
recently bought 4S, it keeps searching for network, reads invalid SIM, keeps searching for network, have switched the handset on and off several times, have tried 2 new micro chips, re set the network too ! nothing seems to be working!
As soon as Iphone had water contact, turned off immediately and backed on after 3-4 hours. Turned on in the evening on the same day. Everything works like camera, sound, wifi, imessage etc., except does not connect to ATT network. Took it to att store and tried changing the sim. No use. Took to apple store, explained had water damage, so they tried to restore. The whole installation takes place. Then the initial set up screen starts showing to choose country, language, connect to wifi. After that it tries to activate phone then displays message saying that phone is damaged and cannot be activated. I just want the phone to be same as when I took to the store so that at least I can use it as ipod.
The software seems like it is not allowing me to use the other features of the phone and only does if I am able to connect to the network. I had been to att store as well and told that I am not changing my plan or breaking the contract but we buy a new phone and continue with att. Since as a owner of the iphone I should be able use the other features though it is not able to connect to cell phone provider network. How to bypass the activation step and takes me beyond that point so that at least I can use it as ipod. Looks like apple software is restricting the use of the other features of the iphone if not used for making calls.
My iPhone 5S is about five months old and the network constantly disappears into "Searching...". I've done everything from restarting my device, to a hard reset, to a network settings reset, and even replaced my SIM card but I'm still plagued with the problem. It's not got to do with the network, because that seems to be working fine for everyone else in the country.
My iPhone 4s drops network services and keeps searching for about 2 hours and then starts working again. I reset all the settings etc and makes no difference to it and still won't work. Checked the sim and network and there are no issues with it.
My iPhone 5s doesn't seem to recognize any sim card. Keeps indicate searching with or without the presence of a sim card inserted. I have tried every necessary avenue and it's not making any changes.
i have recently received a bb curve 9360 and it constantly say ' no service' & 'searching for networks' i have contacted t-mobile and they say my phone has packed in. whats wrong shall i get a new phone?
My blackberry curve 8530 for metro pcs keeps shutting off by itself (very frequently) and taking like 5 minutes to restart. I factory resetted the phone and it is still doing it. I tried to update it using the Desktop Software but it would not even connect, it would just charge it. Also, I went to setting and memory and prompt when connecting, and it still did not work. Also it keeps going in and out of service, when I know I have service, it says "Searching for network".
this is my second 9360 with the same problem alway searching for network got this replacement from blackberry a few weeks ago after the other one did the same thing and now same problem again does any one know whats causing this
Just got my Bold for Christmas and it's just been the greatest phone I've had so far. I decided to leave the OS as is (5.0.0.423) and only installed apps I would actually use (Google Maps, Trapster, ScoreMobile, Poynt, QuickLaunch and WeatherEye as well as the Bottom 8 theme). Everything worked amazingly on my phone until 2 days ago.
Sometimes (7-10 times/day) when I dial a call it says "Calling" for about 20 seconds then says "Call Failed". Sometime I have to retry up to 6 times to be able to make my call. Very frustrating.
My next issue (that appeared almost simultaneously with the 1st one) is that I literally just loose the network. The phone will say "Searching for network" for 4-6 minutes then find it back. So many calls missed and frustration !!!!!
Now to help anyone that might have a solution for me here are some facts: - I own a Bell unlocked 9700 (using it on Fido network) - OS v5.0.0423 - Only installed apps and themes are listed above - My SIM dosent seem to be loose in its slot (one of my older BB's had that problem, cardboard fix!) - My wife is on the same network with a BB Pearl Flip and dosent loose the network
I have the phone rooted and unlocked, and it seems to not work with t-moblie. "no service selected network (t-mobile) unavailable". I have tried doing all the resets, but to no avail.
My phone ignores my previously recognised sim. Went through setting. Tapped phone icon and message dislogue says "not connected to network". Sim Card was placed properly in the slot. Please help.
A Verizon Storm2 I bought used from a Vz customer who switched to an Android. Sold me the phone without the Vz sim in it, I didn't know I needed it. Got an unlock code and tried to enter ir with the T-mo sim in it, says no valid sim card.Always comes up with "do you want to enter MEP unlock code" after pulling battery, but when I press yes nothing happens. This is with the original Vz sim installed which I realized I did need to enter the unlock code.Going to the sim screen shows "no valid sim card" so I can't get to the MEP2 screen to enter the unlock code, this is with the original Vz sim installed.I want to use this on T-mo but am willing to register it on Vz long enough to unlock it, but even Vz says it's blocked.I really need a clue.
I got my N900 monday together with a new O2 sim card. It worked fine on monday and tuesday, but since yesterday, the connectivity to the O2 network is down. When I start up the phone, it asks for the PIN; so it seems that the sim card is recognized. But it does not connect to the network! The provider name does not appear next to the status bar, and there is no connectivity indicator on the status bar. Offline mode is disabled, of course.
Text messages cannot be send; when I try to call someone, I get an error (translated from german: "network not available" or similar). The strange thing is that sometimes I can reach the network for very short time. I then get missed test messages, but that's it. The connection lasts for not more than 2-3 minutes, I guess. I tried another sim card, and this one did not work, too. The sim card was placed properly into the slot. Is there anything I can do, or may this be a well-known firmware bug?
