IPhone :: Apple Will Release An Application For Checking Device?

I definitely have issues with the reception when I touch the phone, but seems some people are ok. As we are all running the same software I think there is a production problem on some phones. How about Apple release an app you download if you think you have a problem. The app checks the reception when you are touching and not touching it, and if it determines there is a problem with your phone it automatically orders you a replacement. It could also check your GPS and immediately send an Apple courier to your location but that is maybe going to far.

It's sure that you can't jailbreak an IPhone to work on Sprint or Verizon. I do have an IPod touch and the Samsung Instinct for sprint, but it would be really nice if I could just have them all in one.

I've been around since the first IPhone release and apple has never announced a specific case for the 2G, 3G or 3GS. But now with the new IPhone 4 they release a bumper, not really a case. And notice the bumper only surrounds the metal band and thats about the only protection you get? They probably knew about the signal loss during late stages of mass production I'm guessing. This is just interesting to me and speculation.

Anyone else a bit annoyed that if you made a reservation to get the IPhone 4 on opening day, partly so you could be the first anywhere to get it, you are now getting it 1 day later than others who aren't anywhere near an Apple store and/or chose mail order? Kind of takes a bit of the excitement away from the hassle of rushing to an Apple store on release day and waiting in the reservation line.

One of the three Apple USB cables I have has this feature and I prefer it, it is a little bigger on the iPhone'd end and has bottons on the side to release and be able to disconnect. Don't remember where I got it but seems all the current ones don't have this, smaller and just pull which makes it harder..

I have recently got a Blackberry curve 8520. My contract gives me 25MB blackberry usage and 1GB per month data usage. My service provider has said I can check my blackberry usage on the phone but I cannot find how to do this. I have searched the forums and see there is an application for this. However I have been advised by the technical team at my provider that once I start putting applications on I could exceed my limit so we have taken off the facebook and ubertwitter application I had put on.Please can anyone explain what the difference between the two usage amounts are. When I go onto the browser on my phone and look at a web site it shows as blackberry usage on my call record on my internet bill but does not show the actual amount of usage. Yet when I search around for blackberry usage it appears to relate to blackberry emails.I am ploughing through the documentation here for answers. One person at the call centre says I need my bill to say internet usage for the usage to be taken from the 1GB limit the other person says it is OK to say blackberry usage.Can any one explain what the blackberry usage is for or point me in the right direction in the documentation here? Many thanks from a new blackberry owner considering cancelling the contract.

So I just got my first BlackBerry, the Tour 9630 a few days ago. I used my full upgrade with Sprint, plus the mail in rebate. Now I am really, really starting to worry because it seems that in the next few months the TOUR 2 could be released. I am wondering if I will be able to return my Tour and get my money back, and my full upgrade and just wait for the Tour 2 to be released. If I have only had the phone for a few days, you think I will be able to switch to the Tour 2 no problem? I have sprint.

I'm trying to support nearly 100 Blackberries (mostly the Tour), and any wireless update breaks the phones with various results: anywhere from just deleting the email sync settings (all carriers) all the way to the phone unable to make/receive calls (just T-Mobile for the lack of calling, Verizon or AT&T seem unaffected thus far). We do *not* use a BES server, however, if that's what is needed, I'm certainly willing to go there. If and when an update is needed (by our standards), I will perform them. I really don't want anything coming from Blackberry, ever. I instruct users to hide the update icon, however, they always say it eventually comes back and keeps prompting to install the update. To rid themselves of the annoyance, they do the update, break the phone, then have the greater annoyance of waiting until I can get the phone fixed.

I'm waiting for the Tour 2 to be released, but no one really seems to know when it's coming. Apparently it was supposed to be Feb 3, but was delayed. So then we were hearing it could be as late as April or May. I knew I couldn't wait that long so I bought a Tour on ebay last week. Now, just as I figured would happen, we're hearing it could be as early as within this week and if not, pretty much for sure within the next 30 days.
So I'm just wondering if you all think the price value of Tours on ebay will drop once the Tour 2 is released? I'm contemplating just turning around and selling mine now so I can be sure to get what I paid for it. But if the selling price will most likely stay the same even after the Essex is out, I'll probably just wait it out. I just don't want to lose a lot of money on the deal when I might only be using the phone for just a couple weeks!

I have missed the 24th preorder date and I was wondering if by any chance even 1 in million manage to get on hold of a payg iphone 4 (uk) from a carrier like orange, 3 etc. Is there a difference having an officially unlocked iphone from apple vs an ultrasn0w etc. unlock device?? (other than any ethical/moral issues ). Any specific stuff that I will not be able to perform with such an unlock?, any downsides like slowdowns (if it’s a 24/7 background running service etc) ?
I know that O2 official unlock iphones for $15, but I haven’t found any certain info on the other carriers. (note: the phone will not be used to UK at all, so some proposed actions from carriers like: “use the phone for 3 months with the carrier and then ask for an unlock” will not work in my case.)

My Apple Mobile Device Usb Driver Does'nt Show up in my Device Manager. But when i go Control panel>> Admin Tools>> Services its there but when i go Start>>Run type in devmgmt.msc an the device manager comes up an under the heading Universal Control Bus Contoller the Apple mobile device usb driver is suppoed to appear but it doesnt all my other usb attached devices do

Wouldn't it be something nice if you can turn your device on Without having it in your hand? You could turn it on from your computer, or if you have a iPod turn your phone, laptop and desktop on with it. Or what if you lost it, and someone picks it up and turns it off (iPod or iPhone) and the only way iCloud could find it is if its connected to the internet but it's not on.Maybe i have a bad idea, but i thought about it after losing my iPhone but not my iPod. i Would rather lose an iPod
