IPhone :: Apple Release Software Update Before 30 Day Return Expires?
Jul 6, 2010
I wonder if Apple will release a software update to address the current issues before or after the 30 day return policy expires? I don't see software fixing the antenna issue and I am curious see when the release comes out.
So I just got my first BlackBerry, the Tour 9630 a few days ago. I used my full upgrade with Sprint, plus the mail in rebate. Now I am really, really starting to worry because it seems that in the next few months the TOUR 2 could be released. I am wondering if I will be able to return my Tour and get my money back, and my full upgrade and just wait for the Tour 2 to be released. If I have only had the phone for a few days, you think I will be able to switch to the Tour 2 no problem? I have sprint.
When will apple sell more IPhone 4G? I ordered my on Att site on June 29 and read my other threads: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthre...364&highlight
I'm just curious. Next week on the 24th, will AT&T or apple stores have IPhone 4G for people without preorders to snag if only a few devices? Sorry if the topic was already posted. I didn't see it upon my attempt to research it.
So it's been said Apple would make an announcement about the IPhone today regarding the problems/solutions. Is the announcement of the selling over a million phones that release? If that were the case, what the heck!
So I'm about to get the new IPhone, but I was wondering if I should hold on or not. Do you think Apple will release a new version to quell the reception/proximity sensor/fragile glass issues?
I've been around since the first IPhone release and apple has never announced a specific case for the 2G, 3G or 3GS. But now with the new IPhone 4 they release a bumper, not really a case. And notice the bumper only surrounds the metal band and thats about the only protection you get? They probably knew about the signal loss during late stages of mass production I'm guessing. This is just interesting to me and speculation.
It's sure that you can't jailbreak an IPhone to work on Sprint or Verizon. I do have an IPod touch and the Samsung Instinct for sprint, but it would be really nice if I could just have them all in one.
I am wondering about my upcoming ATT Premier order for an iphone. I plan on ordering it on a new line, then going to ATT and switching sims to my primary line. Now I wonder if when I go into an Apple store in case my phone has any issues, will it matter what line its on or where I bought it from? I have never owned an iPhone so I dont know how the apple store actually works. From what I rememeber, I bought a used iPod Touch a long time ago, and it had issues and I just brought it in and got an exchange. Will it be the same with the iPhone?
Anyone else a bit annoyed that if you made a reservation to get the IPhone 4 on opening day, partly so you could be the first anywhere to get it, you are now getting it 1 day later than others who aren't anywhere near an Apple store and/or chose mail order? Kind of takes a bit of the excitement away from the hassle of rushing to an Apple store on release day and waiting in the reservation line.
I definitely have issues with the reception when I touch the phone, but seems some people are ok. As we are all running the same software I think there is a production problem on some phones. How about Apple release an app you download if you think you have a problem. The app checks the reception when you are touching and not touching it, and if it determines there is a problem with your phone it automatically orders you a replacement. It could also check your GPS and immediately send an Apple courier to your location but that is maybe going to far.
One of the three Apple USB cables I have has this feature and I prefer it, it is a little bigger on the iPhone'd end and has bottons on the side to release and be able to disconnect. Don't remember where I got it but seems all the current ones don't have this, smaller and just pull which makes it harder..
Ok heres my problem. About 2 weeks ago i went to the Apple store because i got an iPhone 4 with probably the worst proximity sensor on the planet. Literally i hold it up to my face and dont move a muscle and the screen flashes on and off. Its literally caused me to add calls at 3 a.m and hang up on 50% of my calls. So i asked if i could swap it out and the guy working said i should wait for the software update and getting a new phone would still have the same problem. So the problem is now my 30 days is up, and what if the update doesnt fix it? Do you think theyll still let me return it? ATT store wouldnt let me swap out either.
I need help clarifying return procedure. It late and I can't call ATT, hoping someone in similar situation could help me. I bought the phone from ATT in-store. I had it exchange from Apple, the replacement still have the reception problem along with new problems. Can I return the phone? It have a different serial number now and I still have my genius bar replacement confirmation paper.
Also this phone was an add in line, so if I return the phone does this mean I lose the number? I would like to keep this line. Just returning the phone until everything get better then I rebuy.
I have the Gold Master of 4.0 installed, and now iTunes tells me my phone is already using the latest software (4.0). Should it be offering an update to the newly released final 4.0, or is it exactly the same as the GM?
Recently KLM updated their app to version 3.4.2 an apparently Release 9890.
On my iPhone I still have to deal with (buggy) release 9886 even though by now I have deleted & reinstalled the app several times. how to force a release upgrade of an app??
We know there is the mobilesafari exploit which allows untethered start-up for new bootrom 3GS and iPod touch devices. There is a good chance the geohot has found the same exploit. Now that Apple have it narrowed down to mobilesafari, will they not try to find the exploit themselves before releasing any significant update?
Anyone else think we might see something today? Given that it's been quite a while since launch and the problems surfaced to national attention, and now with the Consumer Reports story. I feel we might see something today. If not, this week.
After updating my C7 with latest software update, I can get no greek language support for my phone. As a matter of fact, I have much less languages options than what originally were installed on the phone.
I am having Nokia N97.i recentley updated firmaware from 10.0.* to V.20.0.019.Now my phone is showning " System Error " when switch on. Also I have checked new for release of new firmaware for N97 i.e 21.0.045. How can I update this firmaware for my phone.
I am going to change from the Storm 2 to the Tour. The Tour 2 sounds nice but I really don't care for the trackpad after using it on the 9700. When you drive a lot the trackpad leans to more mistakes in navigation to me. Wifi is also something I never use. The Storm 2 is a great device but again it is hard for me to use while driving (one hand navigation). Once the 5.0 update is released I believe it will be near perfect for my uses.
As most of everyone knows, Nokia Belle is finally released! I was wondering if anyone with a C7 Astound who lives in the US has been able to update their phones to Belle?
