I'm not sure if my memory is faulty or what, but I don't remember ads being in Apple apps prior to jailbreaking... for example, I'm seeing a banner ad for 'We Farm' at the bottom of my screen while I'm in the phone's Settings app (screenshot below). I hope this isn't the start of adware for the iphone
View 14 RepliesI have iphone 3GS 16 GB, currently on 3.1.3, jailbroken by spirit and unlocked. It is one month old only. I noticed that the battery drains so fast (3 hours of listening to music through earbuds and 30 minutes of wi-fi and that's all, I have truned wi-fi off, push notifications off, location off, EQ off etc). Since this battery life is not typical for iphone 3GS, I am planning to get it checked by Apple. But an employee there told me they will not touch it as long as it is jailbroken. I downloaded 3.1.3. and tried to make restore through itunes (click restore while holding shift and browse to 3.1.3) but it does accept and it gave me error # 3194. itunes asked me to upgrade to iOS 4.0 but I don't want to do it now becasue I know there is no jailbreak. So, is there anyway to un-jailbreak and restore to 3.1.3 so that it can be checked by Apple?

I tried restoring back to 3.1.2, but iTunes gave me an error saying that the iPhone is not eligible for that requested build. Is it possible for me to upgrade to 3.1.3 then rejailbreak? Sn0wbreeze says it'll jailbreak 3GS at 3.1.3 with the old bootrom and non-MC. I got my 3GS around when it came out. Does upgrading bring me to a new bootrom?

View 9 Replies View Relatedso I used snowbreeze to create a custom jailbroken 3.1.3 firmware for my 3Gs. i put my iphone in recovery mode and did the restore. It restored sucessfully except my iphone is stuck at the apple logo. I've tried doing it in DFU mode and i can't even do the restore because i get a error 1600 message. so right now my iphone is completely unusable.

I have downloaded so much apps and supporting apps that I don't want on here. Alot of the support apps though I have no clue what they are for.
If I manually delete all apps through cydia or rock and then go back and install the ones I want to keep, this will be safe and effective way off ridding all jailbreak info from my phone and starting fresh, correct?

So this just started this morning but my iPhone 3G will not launch any apps other than the preloaded apple apps. When I try to launch them they load for a second and then it goes back to the home screen. I havent loaded any new apps so I am not sure what is going on.

I liked it better when I only had Apple apps on the first page, then the second page could be third party apps. Why can't we at least choose what native apps we want on our screen? View 24 Replies View RelatedI have been playing around after installing a beta from bigboss's beta repo that gets rid of recent apps, and only keeps backgrounder apps in the multitasking in bar. All the official apps work in he background (maps, app store, camera,etc.)After freeing memory with sbsettings, (once again beta that "free mem" is not glitched), these apps takes a lot less memory than they did before. Mobile music only uses approx 10-15mb now, a lot less than before. I could run maps, app store, music, and angry birds flawlessly. this was all on a regular 3g. BTW: Bigboss beta repo: thebigboss. org /betarepo/the music controls also work fine in the "double click multitask" menu, as does the rotation lock. the ipones' as zippy as ever

To see one app roll off screen to the left as another quickly rolls on from the right is just simply pleasing to watch. App switching on the 3GS is hitch free, I'm excited to see how well my iPhone 4 will do with twice the RAM.
Ever since upgrading to 5.1 OS on my iPhone 4S whenever I try to update or download an app I get a message that says 'unknown error has occured. When I try to access my Apple ID I get a error of 'cannot connect to iTunes Store'.

I installed some apps using an apple I'd that is no longer active. I can't update them because it asks for the password of the old I'd instead of the I'd I currently use. How can I change the apple I'd associated with these apps? I still want to use them. One app I paid for using the old I'd. The other app is free. I have had my daughter's iPhone associated with my Apple ID for several years now because A) She was too young to have an Apple ID of her own, and B) I wanted to be able to monitor her App Store purchases and such. Well now that she is older and has proven herself to be a responsible young lady, I want to get her her own Apple ID, as she will be getting a new McBook as a graduation present. For some reason, all of a sudden, when I try to update an App on my phone, it's trying to use my gmail email address as my Apple ID. So, I keep getting the error "Your Apple ID or Password is Incorrect". My Apple ID is an @mac.com, so I can't change it. I went into settings on my phone, signed out and signed back in trying to force it to use the @mac.com as my Apple ID, but it still keeps thinking that that my email address is it.
