Ever since upgrading to 5.1 OS on my iPhone 4S whenever I try to update or download an app I get a message that says 'unknown error has occured. When I try to access my Apple ID I get a error of 'cannot connect to iTunes Store'.

I have struggled over this for days. I recently lost the internet provider on my old internet account which was my old Apple ID. I successfully changed my Apple ID in ITunes to a new permanent email address. I cannot change the settings on the App store or ICloud. The suggested solutions for this problem have not worked for me because there is no option for changing the old Apple ID. When you tap on it, it does not change. I have tried signing in with the Old Apple ID (the old email account) and it doesn't work either. I have synced my phone (and lost my contacts in the process but that was an entirely different headache!) to no avail.
Some of the solutions stated that I should go to the store and tap on the Apple ID and it would allow me to change...no such luck. Also when I tried Iforgot, it would only let me change my password which is not really any help because the problem is the Apple Id.

I just got a replacement iphone and restored it from a backup, however, upon trying to sync it again, the 'sync apps' checkbox is not checked. I'm having trouble accessing both the appstore and iTunes on my iPhone 4. Even with wifi on, whenever I select an app I wish to download on the top charts, all it results in is a loading screen which does not load. i have an iphone 4 and my boyfriend a 3gs, until recently we used seperate computers for sync but one broke so we have only 1 between us. We have sepeate Apple IDs and log in to our own each time we want to sync our phones, but we seem to end up with all the same content, ie apps music ect. We have to tick and untick stuff we want and dont. Also we purchase/download our own content from app store using our own ID's yet they too apper to sync to both devices..
