Jun 1, 2014When I change the position of the Mute/Silent switch, I get the icon to change (either the bell or the bell with the line through it), but the phone continues to right and never goes on silent. If the icon changes, it seems the switch must work physically, right? As far as I know, I haven't changed any settings.

Jul 1, 2014My iPhone 5 is suddenly stuck in recovery mode. It won't turn on, the connect to iTunes logo just shows up. I really don't want to restore it because I have 300+ pictures from vacation that have not yet been synced to my photo stream. I guess my question is is there anyway that I can kick my phone out of recovery mode long enough to get those photos in my stream without restoring it? I know there are programs on the Internet that claim to do this but I doubt they work.

Sep 6, 2012I woke up this morning to find that my phone had restarted itself over night, Thought nothing of it until 15 mins later I came back to it and it was still stuck in start up on the waves. It wont turn off or do anything when any of the buttons are pressed. The notification light is orange (dont know if that means anything).

May 7, 2012I've been having this problem since Sept 2011.. when I place a call, the receiving end cant hear me (they can if I either put it on speaker or use a headset), I just noticed (Ive just upgraded to ios 5.1.1) that the mute icon is always on and just gets highlighted when I press it.. either way (highlighted or not), I'm always still on mute.

I have to use 2 hands to make it hang up--one to hold the home button and the other to hit the end bar. I've "Reset All Settings" in General Settings like other posts have suggested. This worked for a short period of time but now the phone is back to muting itself. Why does this happen?

Mar 18, 2012my iphone 4 (ios 5.1) doesn't make a sound on it's speakers when receiving a call or using app.however music plays on speakers as well as some apps like "magic piano". Internet uses speakers correctly, too. vibration works when getting a call, but no sound. turning vibration off doesn't make a difference.testing the ringtone works fine, too, but i don't hear it during a call.when using headphones all apps produce the sound they should and incoming calls play the ringtone, too. changing volume level doesn't make a difference.during a call i can turn on loudspeakers without a problem. mute works as expected, too. but no matter what i do, all incoming calls stay silent and most apps and system sounds like keyboard clicks are muted. i missed numerous calls because of that, so how can i turn the sound back on?

May 18, 2012My iPhone lost all sound on Wednesday 16 May 2012 and then again this morning Friday 18 May 2012. The Mute Button was Off. I did a little research online and from what I could find out it seems to be an update issue. 5.1.1
Before doing the following I highly recommend you do an iCloud back up first. It takes 5 minutes max and then do this:
>settings>general>reset>reset all settings
This process takes about 10-15 minutes at the most.
I'm really quite irritated now because I've had to do this twice thus far and I'm expecting to have to do it again until this "bug" is worked out. Also my charging seems to have a glitch now as well. It may be an charger issue in and of itself but I really don't think so. Again I think it's the most recent update.
