Samsung :: Moment Screen Glass Cracked
Feb 10, 2010I dropped my newly bought Samsung Moment and the screen glass cracked . The phone is still working perfectly fine. I searched through the whole web but cannot find any instructions on how to replace the glass. There are many for iphones though. I bought one digitizer from ebay and plan to do it myself. I sent questions to the seller on ebay and ask him to ask his other buyers for me. But he directed me to this forum.
(1)Do you know where I can find some instructions? I searched on the web but only found those for iphones.
(2)If there are no instructions, can you tell me what you think important to me?
(3)How to start? I am not seeing any screws anywhere!
(4)How to remove the keyboard from the screen? Do I need to remove it?
(5) Can I just remove the screen from the front, or do I need to start from the back, and get to the screen layer by layer?
Motorola Xoom :: Cracked Glass Screen On 4G LTE?
Jun 7, 2012I just replaced a glass screen on my father's Motorola Xoom with the 4G LTE upgrade. Total cost was $101 and about two hours of time. The Xoom was dropped on a tile floor and had multiple cracks in the glass, but was still functional. Just want all you fellow Xoom owners to know it can be done yourself if you have at least a bit of skills (and a hair dryer).

Mar 10, 2011Been a Blackberry user since March last year, although I seem to have struck lucky with the particular blackberry I've got - my Storm2 9520 has been a catalogue of problems since the start.Anyway, last night I dropped the phone in my room, and the screen broke. Now, all that can be seen is a bizarre, inky pattern onscreen, obscuring everything bar the very bottom of the view. However, the glass screen itself is undamaged. Whenever I've looked on the internet for fixes, nearly all of them seem to deal with cracked glass screens, but my screen is undamaged - the display and what's showing up onscreen is the problem. Now, I'm not very tech-savvy, so here's my questions for you all:
1) what is the nature of this problem, i.e.. what is actually broken?
2) does my Vodafone warranty likely cover this? I've already sent the phone off once to be fixed, when the screen was not working properly and wouldn't respond properly to my button presses.
3) If no to 2), how easy would it be to affect a fix myself? Would it simply be a case of buying a new screen part and fitting it?

I brought it into at and t today and they said i was not eligible for a warranty replacement because it only covers manufacturing problems. If i go to the apple store will i have to pay a screen replacement fee or exchange. Would it be cheaper if i replaced both screens or just traded?

I am still under 1 year warranty but I am sure this wont be covered. Will it cost a flat $199 to get it replaced at the Apple store? Do they replace it right there in store or does it get sent in? Aug 31, 2014My iPhone 5 screen has been cracked for a few weeks but worked fine. Yesterday the screen went black but Siri still worked. When I plugged it in to charge, it started beeping as if i were constantly unplugging it then plugging it back in. So i ended up purchasing another LCD Display and changed it all out myself, however, my screen has lines going through the screen and it is not responding to my touch, I think that it has something to do with the connecters for the screen because sometimes I might be able to see the wallpaper and then sometimes the screen will be white with the lines going through it.

Apr 30, 2012Ok. So my lock button stopped working on my iPhone 4 yesterday. It was 'sticky' (not clicking very well) for a few hours now it ceases to even work.
I also have a cracked screen (which occured 3 months ago now) that I tried to get replaced. Unfortunately they weren't happy that day or something and didn't grant me the one time free replacement that they seem to be giving out everywhere else. Anyway, so I decided not to pay the $180 because the crack isn't too big and it doesn't stretch too far onto the actual LCD screen.
So my question is... If I go to the Apple store regarding the lock button, will they deny me a free replacement because the screen is cracked and they will just pin the blame on that? I am still within the one year warranty too.
Also, for future reference, does a cracked screen void the free warranty replacement for any problems encountered, whether it be hardware, software or mechanically related?

I went to apple store today and they will NOT replace it because the screen is cracked and the damage could have affected the button.
