i have recently upgraded my 3gs to 5.1. A few days later my email screen has gone blank. When I hit the email icon, all I get is a blank white screen. I have restarted and reset a few times.

I just upgraded to 5.0xxx via BB DM and ran into this issue.Screen goes blank as per backlight timeout setting but it never comes up, however you push the screen, press the lock button. No display :-(. The phone is still on and I can see the buttons at bottom lit up and I can even receive calls but no display on the main screen. Have to battery-pull to make the screen work.Whats wrong?? I have tried adjusting Backlight Timeout settings, rebooting without media card, but to no avail. The problem is only with upgrade 5.0. I downgrade it to 4.7 and it works fine.

I've have tried the battery pull many times but it still remains the same. I've been told that RIM usually offers a year's warranty on new products but because it was bought in Canada, none of the networks here in the UK are willing to take it in for repair.

I have a bell blackberry bold 9700 unlocked. My provider is with rogers and I have purchased this phone about 5 months ago. About 2 - 3 times a day my bb 9700 screen will blank out and go completely white. I would have to do a battery pull and then my bb will restart and everything will be fine. I have wiped my phone, downgrade the software and upgrade it again. Still nothing is resolved with it blanking out 2 - 3 times a day.

Also tried reloading the OS although it has the latest version of 6.0.0.264 using application loader yesterday. It did not work either. But today morning I went to carphone warehouse, they tried to tweak it but in vain. They suggested it was a hardware problem and had to be sent to bb support (which takes 28 days!!) It was still showing a blank screen. When i reached home, surprisingl y the cell phone was fine (dun ask how). I restored the data which i had saved on the laptop. After a few min tried calling up a friend, and the cell went blank again. I just pressed alt, right caps and del n it seemed to be fine again. Tried calling up and problem still persists.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Curve 8900. Couple of days back, I left it for charging. In an hour time when I rechecked, there was some issue with display, as it was getting distorted. Post this I did a battery pull. Post that when I restarted, there was a complete white screen, nothing else. The phone is booting up, and calls are coming, (as it is vibrating and ringing, and you can pick call), but the screen is completely white, you cannot see anything else, it is completely white.
I did a complete wipe, and reinstalled the OS(OS version 5), but still it is only showing complete white screen.
Blackberry Curve 8520 has locked and just has a white screen. Hasn't been dropped, it just happened. Have tried reloading OS but makes no difference. Is there anything that can be done to fix it?
