We just got our 3Gs's last weekend. This morning I checked some mail and came back to it a few minutes later.
All of sudden it would no longer power on. I know the battery was about 50% when I checked email. The phone has not been jailbroken.
Hooked it up to the PC (windows 7) and Itunes said it was in restore mode which I have no idea what this really is. Itunes said to go ahead an restore the phone.
I let Itunes start the process, but then Itunes gave an error code 28. I have no idea what this means. The phone has been flawless until this point.
I tried to update my iPhone 4 software to 5.1.1. But iTunes gave me error message saying that the firmware is not compatible.

II'm getting so impatient with my iphone 5, it started turning off randomly, then it started coming up with a damaged screen like a virus so I reset and erased the whole phone and it wouldn't turn back on, it's been off for 2 days now and the only thing it does is flash the apple symbol on the charger.
Do I get another phone or what? I've tried the hard reset as well.

It's my boyfriend's iPhone & we've dropped it plenty of times in the past going on 6 months now, so you can imagine it has plenty of cracks & the back had come off to where we taped it back on. My iPhone 5 is suddenly stuck in recovery mode. It won't turn on, the connect to iTunes logo just shows up. I really don't want to restore it because I have 300+ pictures from vacation that have not yet been synced to my photo stream. I guess my question is is there anyway that I can kick my phone out of recovery mode long enough to get those photos in my stream without restoring it? I know there are programs on the Internet that claim to do this but I doubt they work.
