Jun 27, 2014My sound was working one second and then the next, it stopped working. My volume adjuster disappeared every time I press them. I see the speaker icon is there, but the gauge bar is completely gone. I can only hear stuff when I plug in my headphones. I tried everything I can think of to get it to work like the toothbrush and blowing into the bottom of the phone trick, the Find My iPhone trick, and resetting my phone. Neither of these worked at all.

Sep 10, 2014I recently discovered that my iPhone 4s has not been functioning the way it should be. My sound and speaker are not working. I can't even adjust my volume unless I have my headphones. I can't hear my incoming calls and they can't hear me. This happens every so often and its been happening for the past two days. Is there anyway of fixing it? My phone is no longer under Apple's warranty.

I have gone through all of the banner checks, setting everything to "default sound", and consistently having to reset this stupid phone to get the sound to work for only a couple of days, before it goes away again, and I have to go through the process again ...

But when the phone is hooked up to the car dock-which is suppose to help the phone be "hands free"- the sound won't work. In other words, when I get a text and it says, "say Listen to hear your text" I can't ? This also happens when I try to use the navigation. I can see and it works fine, but I can't hear the instructions unless I take it off the dock, which is where I need it to be.

Vibration still works and I can hear MP3 songs via the handset speaker only {not speakerphone}. I have tried a hard reset by removing the battery and by pressing Alt-uparrow-Del. I checked for available software updates and it stated there are none available. Any ways to restore the sound for my notifications?
