Apr 2, 2012We have two iPhone...both 4. Both are running the latest software. We both have the same issue. One is that frequently when you press the home button to escape an app it doesn't work. If you press the on/off button and then go back to the home button it may work, but not always. It takes repeated tries to get a response.
The second, and perhaps related, issue is that calls frequently do not connect. I can select a contact from either my favorites or the contact list. When I select the name the phone appears to be dialing. You hear the ring once, but no more and the call doesn't connect. Then you can't end the call to start over you have to wait for it to decide to end.
I don't know whether to restore both phones or not. We are thinking of visiting the Genius bar, but we're sure they will work perfectly there.

May 12, 2012My iPhone 4 has suddenly stopped ringing when someone calls/texts. Its not on mute. When I press the volume buttons & the mute button noting happens - no display on the screen to show they are responding.
My son has some apps on my phone & there is no sound coming out of those either. But if I go into settings & change ringtone I can hear the different ring tones. Also if I plug in headphones I can listen to music.
I have been docking my phone into speakers lately & noticed that its vibrated a couple of times when I have done this.
I have turned it on & off several times, and taken out sim, to no avail.
Haven't tried resetting it, as wasn't sure if I would lose my contacts/music etc?

When I watch a video, I can't slide my volume up because the bar isn't there. My volume will sometimes work and then stop in the middle of a song. also my phone will only ring sometimes when I receive a call. I can't listen to music with my headphones and I can't listen to music through my speakers. But when I use an iPod Dock through USB then my volume will work so I think phone jack is broken...

You have to take the phone away from your ear and turn on the screen before you can change the volume. So, will they be fixing this any time soon? I know that theyre working on the hotspot, but this affects more users. Some have thought that this was put in by design to keep someone from inadvertently raising the volume while talking. Jan 8, 2015I was at a party and used my phone for a few minutes 4 hours ago and there was no problem. Battery was 78%. After a while I realized my phone was not turning on. After coming back home I connected it to the wall charger and the light is blinking red. When I hold the start button there is a red light constantly but it won't turn on. Holding volume up and start button also doesn't work and there is no vibration. I tried the yellow reset button near the SIM tray and that didn't work either. My phone had a 16 GB built in memory which was pretty used up (It kept telling me transfer to SD card since memory was above 75%). I was going to buy a microSD card for it but now this happened. Is there something I can do to fix my phone?

BB Bold 9700 :: Restarts When Press Two Volume Buttons Same Time On Side
Jul 24, 2010I have had the Bold 9700 since like the end of May 2010. This is actually my 2nd one because the first one I got was defective (the 3/R button didn't work)..so I got a new Bold 9700 via DOA. Two days ago, I noticed that my phone would restart when i press the two volume buttons at the same time. If I press one of them, it still works perfectly. However, I use a case so sometimes I accidentally hit the two volume buttons together and my phone reboots.I'm not too sure if this problem just started to occur like recently because I never noticed if I ever hit the volume keys together at the same times before. I don't think it's a software problem but I'm running on the original Rogers OS 5.0.0.351. I never bothered to upgrade because .351 seems to work pretty well already.
