HTC One M8 :: Basic Sites Viewable After Buffering Despite Of Constant Data Connections
Dec 12, 2014
I have a major connection issue with the data connection on my new m8 in Vodafone. I have a constant h,h+ or WiFi connection but still unable to veiw basic sites like fb or Twitter without severe buffering. Vodafone have changed SIM and gone through all settings but no difference.
Recently my T-Mobile GS5 constantly keeps buffering when watching youtube. This is the first time its ever done this. It will play about 30 seconds or so and then buffer. Sometimes if I restart the phone it stops. Whats causing this?
the websites i wanna open recognize my safari browser and open it as mobile site so i ve to find the link on the page to open the full webpage. is there a way i can make the sites make recognize the browser as full safari browser like from the macbook one
I'm having the problem that some of the sites I use are blocked by ISPs in Denmark - torrent sites. Of course I use Googles DNS servers on my home WiFi - problem solved. I would also like to be able to use Googles DNS servers when on mobile data.
I would much rather change some system file that overwrites the APN settings, than install a VPN or DNS changer app.
I've got Googe maps, BTC Mapper, and Endomondo on my phone. They all use GPS to track you, plot where you have been, and save tracks for you to chek out later. They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling. My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location? If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals
After just paying alot of monies for this handset, I feel let down... 1. Most obvious and talked about is the OVi Maps update. Iv read this is on its way, I hope its soon! 2. No MMS 3. No SMS without conversations, I hate conversations. I hate that nokia are copying iphone... 4. No copying of old SMS to N900. I was a N86 8MP user before this handset arrived today. I have about 1 to 2 THOUSAND messages, from over the years and Im a texaholic, so I NEED to save them.... 5. No extra data connections, With O2 UK, I would normally have 3 connections: O2 MMS O2 WAP O2 GPRS But in addition to this, the new sim cards, automatically have a O2 postpay wap connection. So, I would like to have as many connections as I can!
6. No editing contact number description text. With, another let down, I have hundreds of contacts and about 10-30 of those have more than 2 or 3 numbers. For example, my workplace contact. I had like 10 to 11 numbers, plus other details, such as notes and emails all stored under 1 contact! For each number and note, I edited the text so I know exactly whos number it was, or what that text related to
I sure there's more, but atm since turning it on, charging, updating to latest firmware and first time boot with sim card, this is what I have found so far...
Starting late this afternoon, I lost all data connections except wifi. Verizon support told me an outage is nationwide for phones with LTE. As I am typing this, LTE is back for now after a 6+ hour outage. Hopefully Verizon fixed the lte/cdma problems that have been a problem for a couple of weeks.
I switched to Cricket from Virgin Mobile so I could go back to Windows with the 1320. In my 1st month with them I went over my 2.5 GB of data with about a week left in the month. In five years with VM I can count on one hand the times I went over 1.5 GB with them. Checking my data usage on Cricket's website I see 1-3 entries per day detailing my usage, some with very large amounts of data. Cricket CS tells me that my device uses their network first and Wi-Fi 2nd.
So in other words when I'm at home and connected to my home wi-fi the device will use Cricket's data even though it's connected to my Wifi. To fix this they told me I have to manually disable data from their network when I don't want to use it. Now this makes no sense to me since the 3 Android phones I've had did not do this once I connected to Wi-Fi the carrier's data was disabled. I think there must be a setting on the phone that must wrong that is keeping this from happening other that what Cricket CS told me. The way they explained it to me Wi-fi is useless because their data would be used regardless if it's connect or not.
My new Motorola Droid Razr has had an issue from day one, the data connection ramdomly but on at least a daily basis the phone looses it's data connection. A hard re-boot has solved these issues so far, until today.
I was told that a software update to solve this issue is already in the works. When will it be available??
In central jersey. The 3G data fr few users has been a hit or miss especially in nj at least that's what I been reading on the forum. Anyway my point is if edge is working fine and fast (for edge speeds that is). Then it can't be the antenna. Att must be updating 3G somehow.
A few hours ago I noticed that I had no signal on my phone (which is strange because I usually have good signal at work), and on closer inspection I could see the NFC symbol appearing/disappearing constantly in quick succession. After a few mins my phone then rebooted itself, and since then its been booting up, the NFC symbol does its flashing on/off for a few mins, then the phone resets again and the cycle continues!
I've had my phone since April and has recently started to experience a lot of problems with the handset. I'm best mentioning that my technical know-how is very limited in terms of phones, but I've accepted the fact I'm going to have to run a factory reset on my phone. So the problems I'm experiencing:- All of a sudden, apps start crashing one after the other. So much so that I can't even turn the phone off properly and just have to hold the power button down until it goes off itself.- Sometimes it just freezes, and when it does, it rapidly drains the battery.- Other times it just randomly decides to turn itself off (this has happened during the night resulting in me sleeping in for work because my alarm has failed to go off!)- When apps have crashed and I've had to turn it on and off again, all information stored (ie. texts, photos, Twitter feed) after the 16th October is gone!I've even went on Kies Air to start transferring photos, videos, etc. to my laptop, but even that keeps crashing, meaning it constantly disconnects from the laptop. I cleared out a lot of old apps I don't use anymore, but they reappear when I turn it back on, resetting back to pre-16th October like I mentioned.
Recently my lg g3 broke and had some hidden pictures and videos on my g3 saved to my sd card through the stock gallery. when i put my sd card in my laptop it has a extension with ".jpg.dm" or ".mp4.dm" and when i click it, the format isnt supported. i tried removing the .dm or using a file conversion, but nothing works.
When I turn on my hotspot on my iPhone 5s, then Bluetooth and wifi, I can connect using Bluetooth, but wifi does not show in my discoverable networks when trying to tether to my ipad 3. Tried resetting network settings on both devices, using the system reset too but it does not show as a discoverable network connection. I have tried using other apple equipment too.
all of a sudden getting unusual buffering issues when i watch streamed content, i.e. Internet, i have this problem on both 3g and wifi which is weird, i never had it before; ive had the phone around a year and its only recently which ive had the problem, it opens the video/audo and buffers and is just **bleep**. you know the score. when i view pages on facebook, well when i used to view them, id click the option through the blackberry icon to view an image in full, the image would maximise to fit the screen of the phone, but now it opens a page to be viewed individually but is only seen as the size it was in the previous page, just without the background. i know it isnt right this way because it used to maximise to the whole screen and now i have to zoom in to get a full image and it goes blurry.
I'm having problems when I try to watch videos. Every time I try to watch one it keeps buffering every few seconds. It doesn't matter if it's YouTube or another site. Same problem. I've turned the phone off. It doesn't. It's been going on for a week our two now. I also did a matter reset. After that YouTube worked for a while but now it's doing it again. Break.com won't pay either.
I'm on att and I have 2-3 bars of 4glte but still have the problem. This is annoying. Right now I'm hating this phone! Wishing I would have stayed with the iPhone!
How do I minimise buffering time when viewing videos or content I.E you tube or bbc iplayer as I can't watch with any success due to constantly buffering ???? Also can u watch live tv on my 9700 , things like sky tv or bbc news 24 ?
My phone keeps buffering which delays/freezes all of my apps.during the last few days it has gotten much worse when on normal days its not so great. Seriously thinking of getting out of BBerry..way too many delay/freezing problems.
I have an icon running the developers 8.1.... So I am trying to stream radio stations on tunein radio and it works terribly. When the stream doe actually play it will stutter and skip, it will do that for a few seconds and then just go into a buffering loop. I even tored different streams of the station and got pretty much the same results. My signal is fine, I have full LTE so speed isnt not the problem. Also its just tunein radio....youtube Pandora and mix radio work fine.
This is an app I used a lot on the android phone and Id really like to be able to use it on the widows phone too but right now its absolutely useless.
Despite turning my phone on and off I can not connect to home wi-fi. It keeps buffering and does not locate any networks. This is a phone I bought today from Apple store. wi-fi worked initially but went out, came home and does not connect. IPad connected to wi-fi and husbands iPhone connected.
I'm trying to stream video from my Galaxy S6 through my a Roku and the buffering speed is terrible even at a lower speed movie. I have 50 Gig download speed from my IP so tests nit my issue.
Just received my E72 and am trying to get an 'acceptable' basic ringtone. The one I really like to use is called 'peal' and I've used it for years. Can anyone tell me how I can download this basic ringtone from somewhere onto my phone ? I keep finding it available, but not compatible with E72 - or some random stuff.
So I have a few pics I took with the Torch and I have some wallpapers that I added to the device. Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.
Just recently purchased a E71 phone and have downloaded the Ovi maps and for some reason I can not find anywhere on the net basic user instructions or a manual of any kind to show how to use the thing. All I want to know is exactly which screen I enter an address in to find my way there traveling by car. I assume this is what the Ovi maps are for however I am having a lot of difficulty getting it to work.
