For the last few weeks, my phone has been shutting off at about 20%. When I turn it back on, it says that there's absolutely no battery left. It's not rooted or anything. I did a hard reset on it last week, but that only worked for a few days. I've had the phone for a year and a half (actually, even when it was new, it never had the battery life it was supposed to have). What should I do? Resetting every couple of weeks does not sound fun. If I root my phone, will I have more options?
Ever since 5.1.1 rolled out it seems like the battery was draining faster than normal but it was at least usable. Now, my phone will just randomly shut off while i'm in the middle of doing something(so far it has only shut off while i'm using the phone and not while it's idle). When it does shut off it could have between 80% and 100% battery even and then when i turn it back on after it shuts off my battery will be around 15% and will shut off again almost immediately.
If i plug the phone into the charger (with it turned on or off) it will charge to full in less than half an hour so i seriously doubt that the battery is actually draining, but the phone sure thinks it is.
So far to try and fix this i've wiped the cache and also performed a full factory reset and that actually only seemed to make it worse - before the reset this only happened maybe 3 or so times per month...now it's happening 3 or 4 times per day which really makes it unusable. The apps that i'm using when it shuts off are not consistent. It will do it in games, in chrome, in messenger - really anything.
I'm willing to try anything - if I didn't provide enough information about something let me know and i'll be glad to follow up.
My battery was low then completely shut off. Even when i have it plugged in, I get nothing!!, not even a light most of the time. And I just got some other stuff fixed on it!
my iPhone shut down itself i don't know with 14% of battery and i was listening music and i'm tried to turn on but shown me that battery without charge after 5 min.
i have a battery issue with my iphone 5 after the 8.1.1 upgrade. The phone started to shut down at 20-30% battery. Then i try a restore. Then i saw a post by Lawrence Finch advising to drain out all the battery and wall charge it for 4 hours. I did. It was almost one hour charging to turn back on. This changed the behavior and it kind did solve the problem because after this i saw my battery going 100 to 1% in 8-10 hours without any over use. NOW the situation is when arrived to 1% it stucked there. Im on full bright, wifi on, 7 apps open (facebook, minions game, etc) and it won't turn off.
my iphone 4s at 20, 30 or 50! % battery just shut down and take ages for rekindling! I took it to an apple store in Italy and they just told me that everything was fine! are you kidding me? things going worst, today it shut down at 70%,
I have noticed my battery losing strength even when it is shut down. Last night I was right at 50% battery strength before shutting it down and going to bed. When turning it on this morning it was at 20%. I understand about things running in the background but even while it is shut down?
I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1. Today I left the house at 8:30 am with 100% battery. I had a breakfast meeting and put my phone on the table while we ate and did not use it. By 10:00 my battery was down to 3%. On other occasions, the phone shuts itself down while there's still 30% power, and I have to plug the phone into a charger to get it to restart. When it restarts, it shows >30% battery. I've been struggling with both issues for months (as have numerous friends with iPhone 4, 5 and 5s). I do not believe it is a hardware issue, but rather, an issue with iOS 7, which is when the problems began for me. My old iPhone 4 running iOS 6 would go an entire day of heavy use on a single charge (and usually had juice to spare). There is a serious power management problem with iOS 7 and I'm deeply disappointed that Apple hasn't addressed it. Â
You can conserve battery life by switching off cellular data, closing apps every time you finish using them, and other tricks mentioned by users here, but then the phone doesn't function as advertised and is no longer a smart phone. It is unreliable and essentially useless as a business device. iPhone is advertised has having 10 hours talk time and 10 hours cellular data. It doesn't even come close. I encourage everyone to contact Apple directly to address this problem. Something tells me Steve Jobs never would have let this happen.Â
[URL] ... I try this, works fine for a day, then my battery drains so fast an shut down, when i try to charge it says "custom binary blocked by FAP lock" i can't find OFE stock, can i use OF7 to revert all?
I have just purchased my new Nokia N97 Mini phone within two months. Unfortunately, I had three times for not start-up failure of my phone. After I charged up the battery of my phone fully, my phone was suddenly shut it down. Afterward, I could not start up the phone with 'Nokia' word white screen only.
I went to Nokia Care Centre for repairing three times, but they could not find the root cause. Even they changed with the motherboard of my phone.
So, I had my N5 since 2013 and the battery as the updates went around was up and down until Marshmallow came out, it was amazing. Great speed , battery and everything, but i broke my own rule and updated to 6.0.1 as soon as i was able to. Well since then the battery isn't so good, and whenever I use heavy apps (primarily when i try to multitask between them) the phone will black out and will turn back on with a chunk of battery missing or it used to be dead. Again this only started with new update so I cant totally point at the battery being old as the problem, but as a new bug with update. I cleared cache and reset it. I tried to downgrade it but kept saying there was missing images and such.
I just got an iPhone 4 a week back. I took a call today and post that my phone has shut down on its own. If I put it on charge, there is no sign of charging and moreover the battery was full. How to resolve this. My iPhone 4 has suddenly shut without any notification. The battery was also full.
my BB curve 8520 just shut off by itself and the battery was half full.i took it out to reboot it the red lite went on and the down load bar stuck half way to the end and froze.
My battery powered down while recording and now I can not open the recorded file. It is in the file but an error message shows when I try to playback. Is there a way to get the file to play?
Ever since I've downloaded the iOS update, the battery drains much faster. When I turned on my iPhone 5, even when it's at 90% and after a minute or so, it drops to half or sometimes to 30%. Then after using a camera to take a picture or to do nothing, my iPhone unexpectedly shuts off and says I need to recharge it. Sometimes after five minutes or so, I turn it on with no problem or when I plug it in to charge it, the battery would say 30 or so percent charge. Even if I have background apps that are turned off, the battery still drains like crazy.Â
I have been using 9700 since Early Jan 2010 without any issues but since last 2 weeks the battery is just finishing in 6-10 hours . I have checked all applications/ maps and ensured that they are shut. Is this a battery problem ....
I have a curve 8530 hooked it up to PC and was updating software. I got a message it could find connection to phone, now my phone just blinks red. wont come on, I took battery out and tried but nothing but blinking red l ight, what happened??
Battery life is worse than pathetic. Just a few calls a day, and what I consider average app use (music usually plugged in charging), and with the camera grip (with aux battery) and tonight it started flashing "Battery critically low". Fully charges it overnight, every night. With the camera grip you'd think it'd last longer but it's getting worse. No background apps and I've tweaked the settings to minimal power usage (per a site I found on which things to turn off, etc.). By late morning it's usually close to 60% battery and keeps going down.
To make matters worse, now, we can't shut down the phone. When we try, it says Goodbye, blanks out, and turns right back on and boots up again. Over and over. We can't turn it off.
I'm thinking a phone reset might be in order. If so, I'm hoping things would get restored from the backups? We have apps+settings, text messages, and photos set to "Backup On". Unsure what the difference is between a hard reset via button presses, and doing a RESET PHONE from the settings menu?
My phone was left idle switched on and when I came to check it the screen wouldn't turn on... So I held the power button and it switched on but I never switched it off In the first place... I have attached a screen shot of the battery use which shows when it was turned off. Â
I have a Galaxy s6 model SM-G.920F that hangs on the main screen and cannot shut down. I cannot go into recovery mode either to factory set it. So, I flashed with stock firmware from sammobile and phone works. I then hard reset it from recovery mode and phone boots and everything fine. Then after a couple of minutes hangs again and same problem.
Everytime I take a picture with my s5 it shuts off and i have to pull the battery and restart, then it'll do it all over again. Started happening about a week ago, phone is 4 mos old. what should I do?
I find that sometimes when I go to wake my phone, it is totally off and will not wake at all. Also, it sometimes still has the LED flashing but attempts to wake it by pressing the menu button or on/off switch don't work at all and the only resolution is to do a battery pull.Anyone else having these issues?I am also very disappinted with the speaker volume. I had an original Motorola Droid and that speaker was loud and powerful. This speaker is pitiful. There's no use using it as an alarm clock. The vibrate doesn't work half the time either.
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S6, but I'm not satisfied with this purchase.
In fact, the smartphone, from the beginning, showed different annoying problems, like:
- It shuts down randomly, when I press the home button to turn on the screen. Before it shuts down, the screen shows some weird horizontal grey lines for a couple of seconds;
- When I surf on the internet with Google Chrome, often the screen shows strange colorful flickerings, making it impossible to do research on Google
- The screen randomly becomes pink, and I have to change the brightness level in order to fix it.
I was using an app on my Nexus 5 while it was charging and the screen just froze so I locked it and when I tried to unlock it, it didn't work. I also tried the power button but it doesn't do anything. Is there anything I can do? Should I take it to a shop?
My phone shut off earlier, while I was using it. The battery was just about fully charged, and it was plugged in. I've tried holding down the power button, power and volume down, power, volume down, and home. I tried taking the battery out as well. Its been a few hours, and it still wont turn on.
My phone recently took a swim with me the other day. I dried it out and had it in rice and nothing has worked. The phone is officially dead and does not work. I have found someone who wants to buy the phone for the parts. However, since it will not come back, I still have personal stuff on the phone that I would at least like to get off of there. I do not care if I get the data back but I do not want someone else to have it. Is there anything on or in the phone where I can reset it since I cannot do it on ITunes or the phone itself or should I just trash the phone and not have one until I can afford another one?
I have a problem with my x10 mini. When I am chaging the phone I always turn it off. But this one even after I turn the phone off ,(if I turn on the charger) the phone will start automatically and all the funcion are working .I want to turn off my phone when Iam charging it.
