View 5 RepliesAny ideas as to what I'm doing wrong here? Sometimes (about 1 day a week), I'll set my alarm, but it will not go off. When I look at the phone, it'll have the pop-up indicator thing saying "DISMISS" or "off" (can't remember exactly what it says), that indicates that the alarm was triggered, but it doesn't actually make the alarm sound.Any ideas why this may be happening? I am 100% sure the alarm is set to the right time, and the AM/PM is correct, and the phone is not on "Silent", but the alarm won't actually ring? It doesn't do it all the time, but maybe only once every 7-10 times I set the alarm, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. This is a big problem for me because I don't have a regular alarm clock, and I use it to wake me up for work. Twice this month I have been late for work because my alarm didn't go off.Can anyone out there possibly help me diagnose this problem? I think my boss thinks that I'm lying to him when I tell him my alarm doesn't go off, and it's really becoming a problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt seems on Nokia E71, the alarm settings are lost when an alarm is activated while the mobile is turned off.The sequence which i followed was.# set an alarm with time = current time + 5 mins# switched off the mobile# When the alarm time reaches the alarm goes on and asks "if we want to turn on the phone"; select 'no'.[My opinion is that at this stage it should just inform the user that the phone is switched off, rather than giving an option to turn on the phone.]# turn on the phone and go to Menu_office_clock and check the previous alarm settings. All of them would be deleted. I saw the same error in E72 and E63.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLumia 900 failed to wake me up this morning. The alarm just did not sound at all.
- Alarm was set and was shown to be in use. Even the Icon in the start screen was shown
- Tried multiple times afterwards setting the existing alarm a few minutes forward. None of the attempts alarmed.
How I set the alarm is that I always edit the existing alarm, edit the time and push the alarm on.When I tried creating a new alarm (a few minutes forward), that ringed ok. But the existing alarm failed to ring
am completely new here and completely new to the smart phone. It's just that all my other Sony phones, the alarm worked (and calendar reminder) when the phone was switched off, to wake me up ect. Is there a way to activate this so that it will work, or does the phone have to be switched on to use this facility

In my old 8310 and in the new 9900 are set to sleep and wake a pre-definied times in my old phone if an event is scheduled in my calendar the phone will wake up and the calendar event will ring but on the new one the phone sleep untill the pre-defined time and ring for the calendar event that was scheduled earlier(ie my phone wake up at 7AM but one day i set something in my calendar at 6AM, the new phone doesnt wake untill 7 and ring for the missed appointment that was scheduled at 6AM. On my old 8310 it would wake at 6 and ring for that event) My question Is:Can I change an option somewhere that I can set so that the calendar behave like the same way as my old phone and wake my device and ring when an event is scheduled and the phone is in sleep (I set up the 9900 to close and wake at pre-determined time and I want the phone to wake early if there's something in my calendar).
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo when I am playing music and go to wake it up, the volume gets louder. Does this make sense, or is this normal? Audio is still good, just odd. I wasn't sure if there was a setting or not? When I had a M8 once before, I'm not sure if I remember it doing that. Just wanted to make sure I'm not having some weird defect in my phone or something.
View 4 Replies View RelatedBeen using S6 for the past 2 weeks. From yesterday suddenly facing a strange issue.
The device does not wake up from stand by on even after pressing the home or power buttons continuously.
Every time I had to to soft reset by pressing Vol down + Power.
I was suspecting Greenify might do this since it hibernates apps on screen off. But now I have removed greenify from the device manager. Still I am facing this issue.
Haven't rooted or modded it (yet). Usual apps installed and some themes from the theme store. The battery is around at 83%. The caller can hear my phone ringing but i don't get any notifications or vibrations or sound.
My Tmobile S6 will randomly turn the screen on, as if I hit the power or home buttons. I noticed this while it is sitting on my desk, not being charged. Once I noticed this, I have seen more and more instances of it when I pulll the phone out of my pocket and random apps will be open. This has been causing me to have much lower battery life than expected.

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust today, my phone started waking itself up every few seconds after I had pressed the lock button and this is severely draining my battery. It has been doing it all day. I restarted my phone and it keeps happening. I have not manually updated anything recently. What can I do to make it stop!?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy iphone 2g running on 3.1.3 keeps waking up every 5 min when i put it on sleep
Info:
iphone original, iOS 3.1.3
I plug the phone in to charge at night, when it's fully charged, the screen lights up for a minute (to tell me it;s charged, i guess). This discharges the battery. It goes back to sleep. It then wakes up again, telling me it;s charged. repeat
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince I've had the phone from last Wednesday, the MXPE has woken up over a dozen times in my front pocket. I've ****/pocket dialed at least 4 people because of it. And I'm sure my battery life is suffering because every time I take it out of my front pocket, the phone is awake. In my car with the radio on, my phone has come to life several times because it believes it has heard the launch phrase, even though my phrase is pretty obscure. I know the simple solution is to turn off Moto Display/Active Voice, etc.. but I actually like the features.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone has developed a condition of not waking after the screen went to sleep. I am not sure it started after Lollipop 5.0.1 or not. But it is doing that more frequent with time. When I tried to double tap to wake the phone, only the task bar on top, the home, and back button at the bottom lighted up. If I press the power button, the screen will go black completely. Press the power button again and the task bar and the other two button lighted up again. The way to finally wake up the phone is repeatedly pressing the volume up and down button together. This could require several minutes of pressing the volume button to get the screen to turn on. The phone is not rooted. It works fine when the screen is on.

Version 5.0.1
Not rooted
Not unlocked (IIRC)
Last night, I noticed that my phone didn't seem to be sleeping. I rebooted my phone and it seemed to be working. The next time I tried to check something on it, the screen would not come on after pressing the power button. Pressing and holding the power button, the phone would reboot and I would be able to use my phone normally until it slept/I turned the screen off. Power button does not bring the screen up, but the backlight does come on. Notifications come through, (light included).
I've since factory reset my phone, loaded settings from what was saved before.
-> phone will not wake Factory reset, -> treat as new device, no apps from google play installed -> phone will not wake
This issue for me has just started as of last night, with nothing updated/installed/changed recently. Cycling the power (holding power till it restarts) allows for use of the phone (until it sleeps), power + vol up does nothing different from just power, and power + vol down boots to the bootloader with nothing changed when started from there.
I have looked elsewhere, this doesn't seem to be a common problem, but seems (to me) occurs more with rooted/rom'ed phones and not stock phones. This phone hasn't been either of those. None of the things I've found seem to have any solutions.
Edit: I went through the Google Play store troubleshooting thing for 'Device will not turn on' and now I cannot get anything other than the Google logo upon restart, or the Boot-loader if Vol - and power.
when I upgraded my phone to the update 4.0.2.a.0.62, it always shows a blank screen whenever I tried waking it up using the power or the home button, I also tried resetting my phone, but it still shows a blank screen, is there something I have done wrong when I updated?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am getting the most ridiculous battery life of any phone ever, I can't work out if that's because I have some dodgy app on there which insists on checking my Twitter every 60 seconds (The culprit on my old HTC Hero) or if I can't put this gorgeous piece of technology down. When I do get on with my actual work however, the shining slab of powerful bliss sitting between my keyboard and PC screen, I notice the screen wakes up every so often for no reason what so ever.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using a Galaxy SII since two weeks. It is an amazing cell phone. I had absolutely no issues with the phone until yesterday. But yesterday night i turned the phone off and then when I turned it back on, I am facing a problem that is really annoying me. I am using widget locker for locking and unlocking purpose of the phone. When I lock my phone, after about 5-6 mins, I see the display of the phone automatically waking up although I did not touch any of the keys. For about 1 min, the display will remain awake and then fall asleep automatically. This cycle starts at around 3AM and stops after 2-3 hours.

View 10 Replies View RelatedJust got my new windows 10 phone, and so far really liking it. I use the Hello feature to login, however it still prompts to scan iris even if the phone is unlocked already and I'm just waking up the phone.I can just bypass it by swiping up the screen, is this normal can it not be disabled when just waking the phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis has happened several times lately. Green 1520 less than a month old. Sometimes when I wake up the phone, the screen simply won't respond to touch. It's not a matter of it lagging on waking (which also happens), it flat out won't respond period. I would rather not have to go through getting a replacement already.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis annoying issue just started in the last few days. I use wireless charging almost exclusively including in the car. Once the phone is completely charged it cycles between charging and not charging. Every time it starts charging again it wakes the screen up and does the charging started notification which means a I get a notification sound about every minute or so.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes, perhaps just a couple times a week, I will hit the power or Home button to wake my phone and the screen will be very, very dim for 5 or so seconds. After that, the screen will be the normal brightness and the phone behaves normally. Most of the time, the screen pops on right away, and I can't find any correlation that explains when this might happen. It's not related to the environment's brightness, as AFAIK. It seems to be completely random.I have the screen brightness manually set at the lowest setting. Auto brightness is turned off.I got my X2 with the original Froyo firmware, and didn't see this happen until the current 2.3.4 firmware. But the older firmwares weren't current for very long, so perhaps it would have happened if I'd used the older firmware versions for a longer time
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got my Photon a couple weeks ago. Not too long after setting it up I started having issues with the screen not completely waking up from sleep. I'll press the power button to turn on the display and unlock the phone, but only the blacklight turns on. So the bottom four buttons light up and there is a slight glow the the main screen. All I have to do to fix the issue is turn off the screen then back on and it works. It's not too inconvienent but I get the feeling this isn't a feature I bought the phone for.
Also important to note when the backlight comes on I can still operate the screen, just blindly. I get haptic feedback and can navigate to certain areas.I've tried a uninstalling certain apps, turning off pocket detection, and ultimately a factory reset. Nothing works.
Where is the proximity sensor on the 950?The reason I ask is that right now, when people text me, my phone is not waking up and showing the notification.
From left to right on the front I have what looks like an LED (which never lights up), the camera, the speaker, and another tiny dot. Which one is proximity sensory? I have read that if it is blocked it the phone won't wake up when texts arrive
I got an emergency alert message this morning (2:30 AM Pacific time) which totaly sucks.Subject was: Channel: Monthly Test Alert Message From reading other forums , I know this must be a bug with the OS. I have been getting these same test message on and off over the past few weeks.Blackberry needs to issue a fix. I have to keep my phone on because I use my phone as a pager.I know RIMM is almost bankrupt but come on guys, you gotta get this fixed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSeems to be a subset of individuals having problems with their WIFI Xoom going to sleep and not waking up or rebooting while sleeping. Its been discussed in other threads but thought it would be helpful to have people post the problem in a new thread to get more visibility and gather more information for Motorola so maybe they can help get it fixed for everyone who is having the problem.General Assumption on common Symptom:Xoom is going to sleep if left idle and is not waking up. Additionally if left idle is also observed to be rebooting on its own. Often takes the 3 finger salute (vol up + vol Down + power) to get device to come back on. Battery life seems to be lower than normal due to problem.
Is Xoom refusing to wake up when attached to power when it goes to sleep? Is Xoom refusing to wake up when not attached to charger when it goes to sleep? How long does it take after device is sleeping for problem to occur? Is there any difference with device "freezing" or not waking up from when let it go to sleep on its own, or when you hit power button to put it to sleep? Have you done a factory reset on your device? If you have done a factory reset did you test the device for problem before adding your applications back? When trying to wake up device how many times did you push power button? Is device appearing to reboot itself and when is it doing so? While you are trying to get it out of sleep mode? (when power button is pushed)Spontaneously without any user interaction with the tablet? Other? Does your battery seem to be draining much faster than normal?Does problem occur if Xoom is connected via USB to the PC?Does is always come out of sleep? Does it randomly reboot?
Does anyone know why it takes my Atrix so long to wake sometimes? There are times I will hit the power button and I can count off one thousand one, one thousand two, up to one thousand six before the screen will light up and then it lights up for just a second and then it goes dark like it has timed out because of inactivity. It is a real wonderful feature when I am showing off my state of the art, top of the line, Android Flagship Motorola phone to people. It does this regularly if I have not used the phone for more than an hour or so and sometimes it will happen sporadically during periods where I check the phone every few minutes, like when I am expecting important emails.
I did a factory reset and removed all of the factory bloatware apps and updated my phone so that it is current on .83.I did not put any apps onto the phone, I left it alone, just set up my accounts. And the phone still has the problem with the long wake cycles. So I went ahead and put my apps back on my phone.Oh, and I tried with and without the SD card in the phone as well. Checking all possible variables. So does anyone else enjoy such long awakening cycles or am I the lucky one here? Does my Atrix need to go on permanent vacation at the AT&T store while I acquire a replacement? Or is this the nature of all Android devices and I should just suck it up?
Is there a way to disable the screen from waking up every time you wave your hand by it?
