I had previously posted this question in the "Kitkat" forum, however didn't receive any response. I was later told that The email client is an HTC Sense creature, not Android. I'm carrying an HTC One running Kitkat. I note that the stock email client has a "Favorites" window if I swipe left. Currently, I have only one email in that area, though I don't know how I got it there. More importantly, I don't know how to get others there. There doesn't seem to be an option to mark the email as a "favorite", nor anything else that would be obvious.
I did notice that within Outlook (on my desktop) I can categorize emails as "HTC Favorite"; I tried that with a couple of test emails, but that doesn't seem to have moved the emails over to that "tab". I don't know how the "HTC Favorites" category came into being, but I assume it occurred once I started using the One with my existing Outlook. I also note that Jerry ran an "Android 101" some time back about favoriting contacts.
As a coincidence, the one email I have in "Favourites" is from my wife, who I note is also categorized in my Outlook as an "HTC Favourite". How my phone, Android, or Outlook new to categoize my wife as a favourite, I don't know. A bit presumptuous, perhaps, but it works. Could it be that because she is a "favourite" contact, that her emails are automatically "favourited"? Is there another way to move emails over to "favourites", particularly without favouriting the contact?
I've now figured out that the contacts marked "HTC Favourites" happen to be those contacts for whom I created a speed dial entry...so that mystery is solved.
I have a Nokia 5230 (RM-588) with firmware 20.0.005 and Ovi Maps 3.04. Memory card is Kingston 8GB. I downloaded maps that I needed and everything is working OK from that point.
Here is the problem: I search for an address (offline), Ovi Maps finds it, I rename it and save it to Favourites. I repeat that with some other addresses. Then I turn off the Ovi Maps and navigation and after I start it again, my folder Favourites - Places is empty. Any idea why the Favourites are not saved ?
After an issue with my N97 where I was unable to do any backups from the phone to the internal memory card, I reformatted and reinstalled the apps to my N97 (making sure I did a backup using PC Suite before hand).
Upon restoring the PC Suite image, I found that it didn't restore the list of favourites which have meant that I've lost them all - I'm sure I remember that the backup to memory card did make a copy of them, but as I wasn't able to do this, this wasn't a possible solution .....
Luckily, Google Maps have most of my starred items (favourites) saved, (barring the one I managed to unstar by accident), but it appears as if Google doesn't store the actual co-ordinates and doesn't allow them to be exported ... So in short - is there anyway at all I can get my favourites back ?
Until yesterday I was an iPhone user. I got an EVO yesterday afternoon and am finding the learning curve easier than I thought it would be. There are tow things that bother me and I wonder if there are solutions --
1) I can only see a few favorites without scrolling due to the thumbnail icons. Is there a way to list just the names to that 8-10 would show on a screen?
2) Bookmark thumbnails - I don't like them. Is there a way to show just the names of bookmark - in a hierarchical order like I would see on my computer and iPhone?
When I first got my X3, there was a bar on the Home screen with 4 blank faces in it which I think was the Favorites bar. Somehow it's gone missing, and I can't find it anywhere. I assume that's where I can place people I call most. How do I get it back?
I'm all for multitasking, and I realize how important it is to get to it easily - but seriously.... I use the double tap to favorites as my primary function for placing calls (my primary function of my phone).
Is there a way in iOS 4 that I can retain extremely fast access to my favorites screen? Tripple-Tap? Etc?
I know after a jailbreak i'll be able to customize the "activator" but I find it frustrating that apple took away one of their easiest features. The first launch of the iphone (sw 1.0) didn't have a favorites short-cut and I remember how badly it was missing!
On one of the home screens, I have nine Favorite contacts Each has an assigned function when I tap the facial icon (call Mobile, call home, etc.) Occasionally a number appears in a small red circle next to their name. Trying to figure out what the number means.
Just updated software on my BlackBerry and I am not very happy. It has reset all my settings and added a bunch of new "features" that I now am trying to remove. how to get rid of the Favorites folder? I also don't want to see any other folders such as Downloads, Frequent, or Media. I just want the All folder to display. Is there a retro setting? That would be a start.
I have imported from Google Earth, thousands of POIs in Food categories for entire Brazil country, very ease: simply I get the KML file and converted it with Gps Babel to Nokia places format, click the file in the File manger, it asks which I want import, them I selected ALL, that works fine. But it put these POIs in my Favorites instead of General POIs, and did not included the subcategories of the Type of Food (Like Chinese, Pizza, French, Barbecue etc.). Not satisfied, because this and because it turned very slow, I want delete ALL these Favorites, but the only way I found to do this, is one BY ONE, I not found a way to delete ALL Favorites in one path only. In summary, my question is: What is the procedure to delete ALL my Favorites together?
I am using the "All" menu on my torch as my main menu. I have it set up similarly to my old Bold 9700. I use that for everything except Media, where I do use the "Media" menu page. However, that left me with little use for the "Favorites" menu page. So I decided to delete everything there and load it up with my most often used contacts.
When you highlight a contact on the contact list, your Blackberry Key menu has an option "Add to Home Screen." That opens a window where you can choose a location and mark it as a favorite. If you leave the default location of "home" the contact will appear on both the home and favorites menu, which I did not want. Since I already had created a "Junk" folder, I simply move the contact to that folder and mark as a favorite at the same time. Now My "Favorites" menu is populated ONLY with many of my most used contacts. And when they appear on a menu page, you can tap/hold the contact icon to get several options such as call, pin, text, email, etc...
Noticed yesterday in my Favorites screen that many icons were no longer there. My browser for example. So I went to my "All" screen and highlighted my browser and pressed  and clicked "unmark as favorite". Then I clicked  again and chose "Mark as favorite". That put my browser back into my favorites list. But now its gone again today, along with all the others I had to unmark and then re-mark. Anyone else had this happen?
I have made my text message icon a favourite and created two separate email accounts, each with their own icons, and also made them my favourites and have reordered all three of these icons on the Favourites screen. Every so often (no logical reason) they completely disappear from the Favourites screen and I have to copy them all over again.
Maps 3.06. How do you edit Favorites? For example, if one of the Favorite's coordinates is wrong and you wanted to edit it, how? I found I can only change the name of the Favorite but nothing else.
I just got a new iPhone 4S about five days ago. It's great and I love it, but...for some reason, the phone app crashes when I try to add a contact to favorites. It just quits every time.Â
Is there anything I can do about this? I'd like to keep a few favorites for when I put on "Do Not Disturb" at night so that I can still get important phone calls and still not get social media pings while I'm sleeping.
What is the difference between adding a web site as a Favorite vs Bookmark in Safari on my iPhone? Why is there both and when do I use "bookmark" vs "favorite"?
There are 2 things that i have a problem with my iphone 5s firstly just recently/today i was having just using it generally not overusing by having lots of apps open as i always shut the apps after i use them , and it started to get really hot , it didnt overheat and no warning came up but it wasnt a temperature which is normal. this happened to me several times recently and i have never thought anything of it but it seems to be getting worse. Also today when it decided to get hot , i opened my safari browser and all my favorites/bookmarks had gone.
I have an issue with my Ovi Maps. I have Ovi Maps v3.01 09wk26 b02 running on Nokia N96.When I try to sync my favorites it crashes. Is there anyone with a solution? I have a lot of places marked which I need ro sync between Ovi Maps Online and phone.
I got a new N97 mini yesterday to replace my N97 original. Its having way to many issues.Anyway, after updating the Ovi Maps application on the phone I tried to synch my Ovi Maps favorites as I have done many times before. The process starts, but then just stops 10% on the way giving the message "Synch was not completed". I tried with my old N97 and the same message there. Which leads me to think its the service and not my devices.I live in Norway, so maybe its a regional thing, but if you guys can just make a quick test and se if you can sync your ovi maps favorites today. Or if you get the same error message as me.
I can't rename or edit my Ovi Maps favorites through the web. On the favorites sidebar, when I click on the edit icon for any item, the edit dialog does not open. Last week, everything was working fine.
