HTC One M7 :: Battery Skipping Percents After Android 4.3 Update?

Oct 16, 2013

Noticed battery skipping percents after the Android 4.3 update?

When my battery is fully charged it goes from 100% to 98% just from texting, but then it will go down percent by percent after 98. Still holds a charge as it did before the update, but I'm stumped as to why it skips 99%?

Samsung Galaxy S II :: After ICS Update Android OS Killing Battery

Jul 20, 2012

I've been noticing my battery draining pretty fast. I've had the phone just over a month and days when I'm at work all day, maybe do some surfing on my lunch or breaks, but nothing to excessive and my battery is down to like 35% when I get home. Before I was going under Settings->Battery and I noticed "Screen" was the number one offender for draining my battery. Which makes sense, it's a bright display and powering it takes a lot of juice. I don't know if it's coincidence or not, however, it's when I started noticing it after installing ICS. Now "Android OS" has replaced it at the top, by a LOT. Here is a list of my top five

Android OS: 58%
Screen: 18%
Cell Standby: 10%
Phone Idle: 7%
Android System: 2%

Motorola Droid 3 :: Skipping Music When Signal Changes After Update

Jun 13, 2012

I use my D3 to listen to music. I have the mp3s stored on a memory card in my phone. I have music version v4.1.513. Before the update the music played fine. After the update the music will skip/click when ever my cell or data signal changes. I work in a very low / no cell signal lab so the phone is continuously losing signal and getting it back. This cause the music to skip/click every time. Not related to the update my phone still does not like to play music over bluetooth and do navigation at the same time. I have the phone linked to my car radio for navigation and I listen to music from the phone. It will reboot after about 15 minutes of use.

Xperia Z2 :: Android OS Battery Drain

Feb 27, 2015

So when I opened up my battery usage I noticed that Android OS was at 70% usage (69% now in screenshots).  I check my battery usage several times throughout the day and Android OS was not consuming 70%.  It seemed to spike to 70% consumption, which points to an error in battery usage charts.

The steeper drops at the beginning and toward the end can be attributed to the poor reception areas I was in and my heavier screen on time during those periods.  The flat portion in the middle is when I went to bed and left my phone for about 8 hours.  Notice there are no huge wake locks during my time off battery.

This is my current screen on time....

I'm guessing this is an error with the battery usage calculator but I'm not completely sure. How to know if this is an error with the battery usage or is Android OS really consuming 70% and how I should fix it?

after the recent update to ICS 4.0.4 my battery is draining even faster. Even when I am not using the phone, the battery is draining very fast, upon checking I see that Android OS used up atleaset 50% when on Idel and it has a Keep awake of over 9 hrs in a total period of 10 Hrs. I do not have any apps running. I just have Trillian on which is a chat app. It also has Push messaging. It reset my phone to factory defaults even today but same thing. I also do not have Wifi or Bluetooth on. Main question is what can I do to increase the battery life from 100% to 0 % in less than 12 hrs.

HTC One M8 :: Kernel And Android System Battery Consumption

Jan 3, 2015

I just got my new One M8 a few days ago and ran into some battery draining issue. After charging the device (second charge if to be precise), I went to sleep with 99% battery while all apps are closed, Wi-Fi is turned off and Battery Saver wasn't on. After 6.5~ hours, the battery was at 89%. In my opinion 10% drain overnight, during standby is a lot and that's why I'm a bit concerned.

Based on some recommendations, I installed GSam Battery Monitor, please see below results. It looks like Kernel and Android System consumes 36% which is a lot. How to decrease the consumption and what causes the Kernel and Android System to consume 36%?

On that matter, it seems like the GSam consumes 5.8%. When I close the app, does it stop monitoring and consuming power or it works in the background and keeps sucking the battery?

Galaxy S6 :: Android OS Killing Battery Life

Nov 5, 2015

I had my Samsung Galaxy s6 G920F one week ago, nothing to say about the phone, amazing battery life. I always plug my phone to charger when I'm home after work, I don't leave it plugged while I'm sleeping. During the night the phone consumes like 1 to 2% battery. I shut down wifi, bluetooth and data during the night. Two days ago I installed Adobe acrobat reader, and disabled some built-in apps which I don't use (Google play music, google newsstand, chrome, hangouts, google+ and skype). Before I go to sleep my phone was 82% battery. When I woke up, my phone was 64% battery. I thought that the issues with Samsung/Android battery life are over with android 5.1.1 and galaxy s6, but in fact no.

I found that a clear cache can solve my issue. I did this and battery drain stopped. Yesterday night, I decided to make a full wipe/clear data, and clear cache. I reinstalled same apps that were on the mobile before, and disabled the same built-in apps. Phone was at 74% when I went to sleep. This morning, my phone was at 52%!!! So I uninstalled Adobe Reader, and activated all the apps that I disabled before, restarted into recovery and cleared cache. Now the issue disappeared again, but I wonder if this will not appear again when I charge my phone to 100%.

Motorola Droid 2 :: Android OS Draining Battery?

Sep 8, 2011

I recently upgraded to GB and ever since my battery has been getting completely drained very quickly. When I look at the Battery Usage stats, I have the following:

Android OS: 85%
Display: 10%
Launcher Pro: 3%
Phone Idle: 2%
Cell Standby: 2%

Besides the fact that the percentages don't add up to 100%, I have never seen the Android OS be so high in battery usage. When I click on Android OS for further detail, it says CPU Total = 1h 15m 35s. My phone was fully charged and I have only been on battery 1h 42m 0s. If these stats are correct, that means the Android system has been using my CPU for almost the whole time my phone has been on. What would cause this? Its very frustrating that I am down to 50% battery after only having my phone on for less than 2 hours. In the time my phone has been on, I haven't done any processor intensive task like web browsing and have not run any apps at all other than Gmail.

If you battery meter is showing that the Android OS is using large amounts of battery (mine was 43%) then all you have to do to fix it is connect the xperia play to a computer but instead of safely removing from the computer, you must pull the bar down from the top of the phone screen and press disconnect, then unplug the phone and the OS then returns to normal battery usage.

(I would say the same battery wasted in half the time)

Motorola Droid Bionic :: Android OS % Of Battery Usage Since .893

Jan 3, 2012

Since .893 I've seen the % of battery used by 'Android OS' to be significantly higher than before. Previously (after 12 or more hours of uptime) I'd typically always have Display as the highest %. Now it's always Android OS. Right now I'm at 16 hours on battery and my Android OS is 64% at 44 min. My Display is only 7 min.

All the same apps since before .893 and no new ones. Factory reset has made no difference in this. if this is something known and to be addressed in .901 ?

Motorola Droid Razr :: Android OS Battery Usage?

Dec 1, 2011

Android OS keeps using 35 to 45% of the battery. My droid, DroidX, and Thunderbolt never used that much. This is the culprit for such a horrible battery life. I have the wifi off now and gps off when im not using it and it still has issues holding the charge for awhile. I wish I could delete the motocast account to see if that is the issue but I cant. Could it be smart actions that is causing the thing to continually search for triggers and wear battery? Or is it motocast? I don't use motocast or the stock music app ever and my mac is off too. So I want to know why the android OS is eating this battery up. Is there some fix on the way? I deleted every app and it still will show that android OS as the main battery hog by a lot. I only have gmail I don't have facebook updating anything so I really don't know what's going on.. I do know that when i used cpu spy the 300 megahertz was used for longer than the phone was in deep sleep. So something is using the CPU in that range non stop it seems.
