Swype is the only keyboard I have downloaded, but I can't seem to get it to work with any programs. Specifically I want it to work with Handcent, but for the life of me I can't figure out how. Swype is selected in settings>keyboard menu.

The last version released (albeit in Beta form) was v2.01(4435) but this is no longer compatible with Belle FP2 with the main issue being with the SMS conversation application as when you attempt to right a text message the entry field remains at the bottom of the screen and the keyboard covers this up so you cannot see what you have entered. If you revert to the Nokia FP2 keyboard the field moves above the keyboard as it should. Some of the other issues reported on other forums include: double-tap to select word not working backspace not working (or holding backspace for word delete) in some apps Left/Right arrow keys not working in some apps every word gets capitalized (rare) split-screen not working consistently multi-line input not available in some apps (could be down to the individual apps) input is sometimes right-aligned buttons along bottom (tick, left/right, options) are too small doesn't have text selection anchors like native Belle input Although I have not spotted all of these.

Specifically, I have accumulated entries in my Mac address book where the address, be it physical, e-mail, or phone is labeled "Boston" or "Summer Home" etc. and both the BB program and the Mark Space program won't transfer any entries that don't match the rigid blackberry set of work, home, fax, mobile. Will the address book program that comes with the Incredible and any synching software allow the kind of flexibility I have with the Mac address book? Address will be transferred as "Boston," etc. and not dropped. Must I do all this with the Google cloud, or can I transfer data directly from the Mac to the Incredible?How well does the voice recognition software work? At first the voice recognition worked on my BB, but as the software "learned" my voice it became completely useless.How easy is the Incredible to use with one hand?
From time to time, I really need turn by turn with voice commands navigation. Is Google maps really a viable alternative for Verizon Navigator? How well does the Android work with a weak signal? I have seen various complaints about the Incredible working with poor signals. Any truth to this? At my house and office, signal strength varies between 2G and 3G but for either signal fluctuates between -95 and -105 db. Will the HTC work with this poor of a signal? I have heard the screen is hard to read in full sun? How about a sunny day in a car when I am trying to make a phone call? Is it true with the Incredible on Verizon I can get Tethering and not pay extra for it like the BB?
Recently I have found that my touchscreen as been encountering some problems. First of all it very often freezes and the touchscreen wont respond and if it does it lags behind. But the most annoying thing is the problem I have with the keypad. Whenever I am sending a message, whether that be Facebook or a text using the keypad the line of keys that the space is on will not work. Every other key will work except for that one line.

Two things here. 1st the video at 30 secs long seems to be too big to send. I have tried recording it in both formats and at the lowest settings..Any thoughts on how to make it smaller? I was able to send video up to a minute long on my Blackberry so not sure what the problem here is.

Everything was fine when I had the X. X2, not so great. And I have auto-updating set.
I just downloaded handcent. It's an app for texting that I like better then the default messages app. When I get a text, I get a notification on both the messages and handcent. Is there a way i can delete messages or disable it in anyway so that i don't get the double notification?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Handcent SMS for texting. I just received my Razr Maxx last week. I can not get the texting program to show the pictures of my contacts. I think the problem has something to do with Verizon Backup Assistant +. If I go in manually for the contact and put the contact photo in, then I can see them in Handcent SMS. I have many contacts, and I really don't want to do this manually.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using Swype for a while now, and I've never really had any problem with it lagging or missing words, but on my m8 it does. I have it on my nexus 7 tablet and it doesn't happen there, so I know it's not just me.
If I'm swyping quickly, it'll take so long to process one word, that by the time it's ready again I've already swyped a second word that gets missed and it goes straight to the third word.
So, simple question, is there, or is there not a way to turn off auto-correct on the S6, for the Swype keyboard?
My title is as it is because, no matter how concise your search is, on here, or on google, searching ANYTHING for turning off autocorrect will give you results for every other device in the universe but the s6.
The menu is different, the settings are different, there is no "auto-complete" in the menu...the way you do it s5 and prior does NOT apply. Turning off some other option, like the auto-predict, auto-capitolize, etc, etc...does NOT work.

I looked into the setting and see that the keypad sweep is on however do not see the swype function on the qwert key pad. Am I missing something here? Do I need to install swype keypads?
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery time I install the memory card now, Swype attempts to install. But the install gets stuck, showing "Preparing to install" and going no further than about 30%. You can just about see another dialog beneath the swype installation dialog , and you can see the bottom of an "OK" button.It looks like the swype installation is waiting for the user to press OK before it can proceed, but you cannot, because the "Preparing to install" is on top, and you cannot see enough of the OK button to press it.Holding the menu button does not result in seeing any running apps which you could quit.
If I take out the memory card, everything's find. But obviously, I want to use my memory card.If I restart, I get the same problem. Happens to me when the popup appears to let me select between different word choices. About 50% of the time, when I click on one of those words, then swype switches to ALL CAPS. View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since the last update my swype is now messing up. It freezes up and then continues. I was also really hoping for a fix for the wifi problems some of us have. I cannot connect anywhere. It worked very briefly after a reset but is now back to the same. It only works in airplane mode. I also used to be able to start it up in airplane mode and then turn airplane mode off but I now lose the signal when I do that.

It's great that Swype was included with the X2 so I didn't have to downlaod it, but the fact that it's a system application means it can't be altered and therefore we're stuck with an outdated version. I can understand that the included version was probably current when the Froyo firmware was written for the phone, but to not update Swype to the current version when you rolled out Gingerbread or remove it so we can update it ourselves doesn't make any sense. If I want to have the current version, which is improved, I have to root my phone to remove Swype so I can put it back on. Any plans to change this so we can actually control what's on our phones and keep the apps up-to-date? BTW, Swype's already got another version on the way. [URL]

I have my only enabled language set to US English but the button is still there, robbing space that I used to use for the space bar.
