I just downloaded handcent. It's an app for texting that I like better then the default messages app. When I get a text, I get a notification on both the messages and handcent. Is there a way i can delete messages or disable it in anyway so that i don't get the double notification?

I have my default set up to send email (was supposed to be only to my computer) days before and hours before as a reminder. Now that I have my GS5 phone and have sync'd it with my calendar I get double notifications for some things and I cant get it to turn off. I dont want to turn off all my notifications? I turned off my email notifications on my phone but that doesn't stop me from getting double Notifications Texts and sound?

Yet I keep getting 2 notifications 1) is using the message notification I set in SMS Pop and the other is the default notification sound.

Since I updated by iPhone 4S to the newest 5.1 iOS (from 5.01), my sound notifications are doing some funky stuff. For example, when I receive a text message, the sound that I have assigned to my family now does a quick one and then immediate second sound over the first sound. It is hard to explain, but the sound notification for TMs no longer works cleanly. It is almost as if the notification sounds, and then is kind of 'slurred' by a very quick second iteration.

Had a Desire from Orange for a couple of months, one of the most annoying issues is that sometimes when I get a text, it doesn't register all the notifications when the phone is idle: I always get the notification sound / vibrate. Sometimes I don't get the flashing green led. Sometimes I don't get the message summary on the lock screen. So if I don't hear the message come in I often miss it. I'm constantly having to wake up/unlock the phone just to check the actual message app whic is a) really tedious and b) probably not doing much for battery life. When I say sometimes, it's probably about 10% of the time, and one or other or both problems can occurr. I can't find any correlation other than having the messages app active when the phone sleeps *may* exacerbate it, but I'm not totally sure and it definitely does happen when the app is not running too.

I've just moved to the HD from the Desire and was able to have Delivery Reports enabled and not get any annoying notifications! If I wanted to see a report in just held on the message and tapped 'view report' from the menu, but on the HD, enabling Delivery Reports causes an audio and visual notification to happen, like a new message has come in. This is a real pain in the ass and is fast becoming a deal breaker for me as I like to have Delivery Reports on.

my desire z has a problem that it will turn off unexpectedly and the only way to restart it is to unplug the battery and put it back on....it's very annoying since i can receive any calls when it is randomly off.

I have set up scenes on my phone and have a live wallpaper set into these, yet every time I turn off my phone it loses the live wallpaper and I have to select my scene again. View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Handcent SMS for texting. I just received my Razr Maxx last week. I can not get the texting program to show the pictures of my contacts. I think the problem has something to do with Verizon Backup Assistant +. If I go in manually for the contact and put the contact photo in, then I can see them in Handcent SMS. I have many contacts, and I really don't want to do this manually.
