How do I turn off double click and voice? This is a new ATT 4S and user has to choose an icon and then double tap to get to work. Also, voice commands are on and annoying.

It's an app for texting that I like better then the default messages app. When I get a text, I get a notification on both the messages and handcent. I have searched every setting and can't find anything other than the spell check feature and it is off. Am I missing something? It also now does the short vibrate when I press a key. I have that feature off as well.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe volume warning that pops up when you are plugged into the headphone jack with the volume at 30. The fact that it automatically turns my volume down to 13 is maddening! And it does this at a seemingly random interval.
Any way to turn this super ridiculous "feature" off? It never fails that I'm listening to music, or a podcast, through my portable stereo plugged into the aux jack, and lets just say I was changing spark plugs in a Jeep (hypothetically speaking of course) and I couldn't get to the phone to turn it back up and dismiss the nanny message... I've had the phone for about a week and I absolutely love it except that at seemingly random moments my phone will block the viewing of any and all of my SMS messages saying "Content protection is enabled". It will show up at the beginning of newly received messages and even in the middle of real-time conversations between someone else and I and then I have to wait for the message to "go away" so I can read what the response was and continue the conversation. Is it something I'm doing? A default phone feature? Is anyone else experiencing this issue or at least know how to solve it?

What I press the headset button short the phone tries to make voice dialing, i.e. it listens to some word said and tries to make a fit from my phonebook and then dial it. The problem is that this button is pressed accidentally and then the phone hears some noises and find a "match" - which is basically picking one of the names stored in random - the result is a phone call to some people that I saved their number years ago leading to embarrassing results. I tried to disable this feature. I couldn't. Any feature of the phone can be turned off except this one!! I don't want voice dialing enabled what can I do!

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn the lastest device OS, the email application on the device caches email addresses from emails you have received, so that when you compose a new message these cached email addresses appear in the quick list along with addresses from your Contacts list. I need to know how to turn off this feature or to at least delete some of the cached addresses. Here's the problem. I have a contact in my Contacts list whose name is Thomas. He often goes by Tom, but I don't have Tom in the Contact record for him. He sent me a conference call invitation in which he used the name Tom to set up the conference. The actual email address is from freeconference.com, but his name appears as Tom. Now if I go to write an email to him and start to type Tom, the cached email appears and I end up sending an email to freeconference.com instead of to his real email address. I'm sure this happens with other contacts as well. Since the real email address is masked in the quick pick list, it is very easy to miss this issue and send to the wrong place.

I no its not a biggy but I use this feature alot when im travelling etc.
I'm all for multitasking, and I realize how important it is to get to it easily - but seriously.... I use the double tap to favorites as my primary function for placing calls (my primary function of my phone).
Is there a way in iOS 4 that I can retain extremely fast access to my favorites screen? Tripple-Tap? Etc?
I know after a jailbreak i'll be able to customize the "activator" but I find it frustrating that apple took away one of their easiest features. The first launch of the iphone (sw 1.0) didn't have a favorites short-cut and I remember how badly it was missing!
