I recently bought a 32 GB Sandisk micro SD card to replace the 8 GB one that came with my phone. I used my laptop to transfer all the info from the 8 GB card to the 32 GB card with no issues at all and then installed it in the phone. The phone recognized it and all seemed ok, until I tried to access the new SD card (opening an audio file, taking a new picture, etc). Every time I do that, I get a popup message saying that my SD card has just come unmounted and I need to remount it.
I play around with this for several hours, including reformatting the new card, etc, always getting the same results...even if I put the new card in the phone completely blank and try to take a pic, I get the same "unmounting" error. I've formatted both cards several times to start anew and the formatting is the same as the 8 GB card which works just fine. So, thinking I have a defective SD card, I return it and buy another brand new Sandisk SD card. Repeat all of the above procedures with the same result: "your SD card had unexpectedly come unmounted. Remount and try again".I know the 32 GB cards aren't bad...my laptop will read and write to them just fine.I called the tech support for my cell phone company, and they said that despite what's published (everywhere), my phone will only support a 16 GB SD card. On that note, EVERYTHING I've seen (including the literature with the phone and all the specs online say that it will support a 32 GB SD card.Software wise, I'm running 2.2, which is the most current software version that my carrier (Cellular South) has released.
I've had my HTC Desire HD for just under 2 weeks and it keeps turning itself off. It goes through phases - it will be ok for a couple of days then today for example - I keep putting it to one side after using it and then pick it up again and it has turned off. Today - it is restarting to the White / Green HTC logo screen then turning right off again. But then intermittently it is staying on for a little bit.
As of Friday (yesterday), my external SD card (32Gb) is being mounted READ ONLY by the system. I cannot use any app on the XOOM to write files, or move files, on that card. I have tried andSMB, andFTP, Astro file manager, andExplorer, File Manager HD. I have taken the card out of the system and reformatted it using the SD formatting utility from the SD association on a PC. I have tried another (2Gb) card and the same problem exists. Both cards work flawlessly using a card reader on a PC.
I can write to it only via an MTP connection to a PC. Today, the card is labelled "SD Card" under MTP. Before yesterday, it was "External Storage". Before yesterday, I had no problem using either andSMB or andFTP to download files to the SD card. I am assuming there was something in a recent update that has removed this feature from my device. When I got the device, it was at 3.2. Now it is at 4.1.1.
How do I get this card to mount R/W so I can actually use it on my device as WRITABLE STORAGE, like I was allowed to do just a week ago? How do I get this device to stop magically updating itself, so I can prevent you (Motorola, Google, whatever) from removing functions that I have already used, need, and expect to continue working? I actually don't care if an update is what broke this or something else, I do not want automatic updates enabled, and I can see no means of preventing them, other than giving up WiFi capabilities permanently. This is a XOOM Wi-Fi.
I just got my Xoom WiFi back from Motorola repair - it somehow had a latin american ROM on it and wasn't receiving the ICS upgrade. Well now it has ICS and, for the most part, everything is fine. I am having problems with the SD card though. This is an SD card I used when I had Honeycomb on the unit. I was able to write to it just fine back then.
I took it out before sending the unit in for repair, and I put if back after receiving the unit back. After reinsertion, I can see/read all of the files that I had on there from before, but I cannot write/edit/delete anything on it, and when I look at it in a file manager, it shows up as read only. I removed the card, put in in my PC (with an adaptor) and reformatted it, still read-only.
While it was still in the Xoom, I connected to my PC and was able to access and even write to the card from my PC. But I still cannot do anything that attempts to write to the device from Android. I think the ability to write to the card from the PC indicates that there is not an issue with the card. I think the issue is how it's mounted. But I cannot find a way to mount it as writable unless I root my Xoom (which I'd rather not do).
My BB 8900 is just about a week old. I had transferred a couple of videos and a few pics from my laptop on to the blackberry - and everything seemed fine for about a week. I was able to access both the videos & the pictures.
Now, for some strange reason, I'm getting the following error for my media card (and this is every time I plug out my BB from the USB connection to the laptop).
Following is the error -->
" ..A media card has been inserted that contains errors. To correct the errors please use a disk erro checking utility on a computer .. "
Now I can't access the videos and the pics on my phone. They dont seem to exist. The folders are all empty. But strangely, when I hook up my phone via USB to my laptop, I can still see the video & pic files in the Blackberry folder.
Q1 - What seems to be the problem? Is my media card corrupted ? If so, is this possible? since my unit is only about a week old.
Q2 - What is the appropriate way to plug/ unplug the USB from the Blackberry? I usually just plug it out . has this caused any problems, by any chance ?
I've noticed following issue with my new iPhone 6 silver 128 GB - when I touch/push the screen - on right side near SIM card, in the middle of the right side I can see that screen is not mounted properly. It's moving up and down for about 0,5mm. Additionally you can hear not so nice sound like "click". Is it known issue with iPhone6?
I just received my HTC desire from a member on the boards.I am having trouble getting the Sim card recognized. Since it is not recognized it is not letting me access the APN settings.
i have a htc desire phone. When i try to download apps from the market, they are automatically installing in my phone memory. Can anyone please tell me the way to install them on my SD card instead. I'm currently running out of phone memory, so i have to install other apps on my sd card?
im looking to get a replacement sim cover for my desire hd, and i was wondering if anyone knew of a place i could get one. because somehow ive managed to dent mineIm in the UK, so somewhere UK would be great
however, I want to replace it with the 16Gb card I have from my old phone. The problem is that I think that there might already be some applications on the existing SD card and don't want to lose them when I change over.I haven't been able to get it to work. My PC will only take normal sized SD cards, so that back-up option isn't one I can use. how I can take a back-up of the existing SD card, or even simply to transfer what's on it to the 16Gb card?
I have a HTC desire sv almost same specs as x the problem I'm facing is I'm unable to install hd games since the phone storage has only 800mb. space.i have gone to settings>apps and checked for the option to move to sd card but there are only 2 options available move to phone and move to internal.I cannot play game's like max payne.since the cache is too big for the phone memory.
AndExplorer discovered a .data folder on my SD card that contains htcGreader and hundreds of unknown jpgs. Google search claims htcgreader is an reader, but this doesn't fit what I'm seeing. There also a sub folder called .feedicons which I deleted yest eve but both folders have reappeared overnight and populated. The jpgs are thumbnails of mobile phone ads, afghan rebels, people generally, or unknown news items. But as they're downloading automatically and I've no idea of content, its a concern.
Just had a message on my phone saying that the phone memory was almost full, so I have been looking through the apps to see which I can get rid of etc, A lot of them won't let me transfer them to the SD card, any ideas why?
I have the desire hd and have put astro file manager onto the phone from my mac. After ejecting the phone it says at the top left sd card updating but when i search for the astro file or a game also loaded from mac i cannot find it. How do i access/open the sd card info
How do I change the SD card (to a new larger version) and retain system data that my phone has put on it? I haven't had it long, so there shudn't be much, but there seems to be many system files & folders present!
I assume I simply set up with the card as supplied, then use the USB lead to attach to my laptop as a Disk Drive, copying EVERYTHING (as apposed to selected files) off that shows into a folder, then insert the new MicroSD card into the Desire and copy everything onto it? My theory being that the SD card supplied will have some set up data and the new one will be completely blank.
"On occasion, the camera lens cover of the N97 can cause scratches on the lens. Nokia has acknowledged that on many devices the cover is mounted too closely to the lens so that dust and debris can cause scratches.[8] On later models however, this issue seems to have been resolved."
How can I know that the one i am going to buy is one of the "later models"? I do not complain about that specific camera lens problem, but it's always nice to buy the most recent hardware. I just want a way to know what hardware version is the phone I am going to buy. Is it written on the box? What's the format? Screenshots?
The problem is that when I try and transfer music to my 32gb microSD card on my HTC Desire S, the music appears to delete itself. I connect it, drag and drop in the normal way and it copies normally. I then disconnect the phone and when I try to play the music it isnt on the menu on my phone. I reconnect the phone and the music is not there when I browse to my computer. Have tried 2 separate memory cards, and in 2 different HTC phones and still get the same problem.
I have HTC Desire. I had some videos and pictures in my mobile. I never deleted them from my mobile, I just transferred them to my PC and with transfer they disappear. I can't see them in Gallery any more. Luckily due to the backup software Astro, i have got my Pictures back but I can't locate my videos anywhere. To remind you, I just transferred them, not deleted them from mobile.
The HTC desire and HT Sync work well with Contacts, Photos and Calendar. But with documents, the synchronisation appears to be from the PC to the Desire and not the other way round. Thus it appears to copy rather than synchronise.
On my PC and Galaxy Tab 10.1, when connected to my home router, I get about 1.5 mbps for my download speed. On the HTC I get less than 500 kbps. Anyone any ideas on how I can improve the download speed on the Desire, or is this the speed which it is supposed to operate at?
It just started yesterday. The phone would shut off randomly and then the only way for it to come back up is to plug it in. Sometime it complete shut off where I would have to turn it back on or plugging it would just go straight to the home screen. Now the phone wont go past the apple sign at all. I got to the home screen two times today and one time it it had no connection and lost service and then it came back and then it had no service again. So I turned it off to try and get signal again.
Eventually it came back on and the phone worked for about 2 minutes and then just complete shut off while still plugged in. I am now trying to restore it and it keeps shutting of mid restore and then I have to keep putting it back into DFU mode or however you spell it. The phone has the most up to date firmware but do I need to start the download over if the phone cycled randomly while it the download was still downloading from itunes or do I just put it back into that mode and let it continue downloading?
I made a call this morning and then I put it in my back pocket. Ten minutes later when I was going to use it the screen would not come on. I thought it was turned off but it would not turn on when i held down the sleep button and when I called my phone it didn't go strait to voice mail so I know it is still on. I know it isn't dead becuase I fully charged it last night. When I plugged it in to the charger it didn't vibrated like usual. Also when I plugged it into my computer it wouldnt show up on iTunes. I'm at a complete loss of what to do.
my pearl 8100 every time i plug it into my computer it will connect then couple seconds later it will disconect and reconnect and disconect again over and over again and i don't kno why and it takes forever to charge sometime when i plug it in the charge sihn will come up but it doesn't charge..
