Nokia :: N97 Cover Is Mounted Closely The Camera Lens
Feb 25, 2010
"On occasion, the camera lens cover of the N97 can cause scratches on the lens. Nokia has acknowledged that on many devices the cover is mounted too closely to the lens so that dust and debris can cause scratches.[8] On later models however, this issue seems to have been resolved."
How can I know that the one i am going to buy is one of the "later models"? I do not complain about that specific camera lens problem, but it's always nice to buy the most recent hardware. I just want a way to know what hardware version is the phone I am going to buy. Is it written on the box? What's the format? Screenshots?
Is there any way to disable that dragging the small camera lens cover turns on/off the camera? if that option doesn't exist (I guess it because I searched for it long wise) is a big fail in N97.
i had my n900 for a while now.camera lens cover(top part) has peeled off from its glue and the wire makes the cover open and close came loose by itself. i have the warranty but i do not want to send my phone just for the cover for 2 weeks. is there any place on web that i can order the lens cover only and replace it my self. its very east to remove since its plastic base.i only have the blue base on the phone now and it is loose so its keep opening the camera mode. very annoying. please help.
It was a problem since many days but i ignored it. But now whenever i open the lens cover of the camera, it doesn't open the camera instead i've to press the lens cover hard down to activate my camera. Also there is a gap down highlighted with circle and the black lens cover is slightly coming in front of camera again highlighted by an arrow.
So I purchased an iPhone 4 about 2-3 weeks ago, and I'm really careful where I set it down as to not scratch it. (My local bar tender knows to put two coasters down, one for a drink and another for my iPhone), but I recently noticed that on the back camera that the glass is really scratched up that covers the lens. My question is: does anyone know how I can go into a store and get them to switch out my old one for a new one? Like a guaranteed problem I can report that they will swap it for?
On the actual lense on the back of my phone, it looks like a shutter peice has shifted down over top of the lens. It doesn' really affect the camera but it just bugs me that it's there and i've compared with other 4s' and it's not there. Any insight or ideas as to why this shutter-looking thing is over my camera lens?
I have dropped my phone so many times it now needs the main camera lens cover replacing. I cannot find one anywhere. Even genuine cases off ebay do not have it so it must be built on to the board. Any ideas what to do with my phone?
Having problem with memory card, i cant see it, while on other phones my card is fine. Another thing is that if i press take picture button camera applications opens but lens is closed. Lens open/close is not detected, if i open it camera application does not start.
I've noticed via search that I'm not the only one who sees issues with the clear plastic piece in the back cover of the Mytouch 3G. It won't stay clean and ruins camera pictures. The usual Q tip route doesn't seem to work; maybe there are scratches on this cover for some reason. Has anyone found a back cover replacement for the Mytouch 3G that has a bigger/better clear plastic piece over the camera lens?
I managed to damage the lense cover on my 9360 within days of buying it. I bought a replacement cover and successfully removed the old one. I did not get and can't find where to buy the double sided adhesive pad to stick it in place.
I cracked the glass LCD lens cover on my 9700 bold and i need to know where i can get the replacement part or get it repaired, everywhere i look they have lens covers for all berrys BUT the 9700...
I have a problem: my nokia n97, make photos with dark point in left. I think is a dust point beacuse before it is on the up-right corner. You can help me take this point out?
recently ive come into a few issues with my N97 and my local nokia care center for that matter.as far as i am aware, nokia has acknowledged that the earlier model N97 had a design fault with the camera assembly where the lens slider is mounted too close to the glass, and as a result, was easily scratched.from my research a while ago, nokia acknowledged this and that it would be covered under warranty, and that they would replace the camera assembly with a newer model that doesnt have this issue.
however, my local nokia care centre refuse to acknowledge the issue and has caused my a lot of problems. the first time i brought my phone in, they correctly replaced the camera assembly with the new one. however, they somehow managed to stop the phone from recognising any sim card. so i brought it back in again, and this time they replaced the phone with a blank N97, however, this n97 had firmware issues and had the original camera slider with the design fault, and they continued to act rude and said that i didnt know what i was talking about and continued to insult me stating that it is not an acknowledged issue with the phone.
now, can someone confirm for me, or better yet, supply me with a link about the official nokia statement on this matter?
n97 is indeed a nice phone and i really don't regret my investment but i'm facing a problem with it's camera. I've learnt from the net that there was a problem with the cover which is too close and did scratched the lens. The result is that at night or in areas with low light the picture quality is very very bad. That's what happening with my n97. Nokia said to return it to their dealer to make the necessary to solve the problem and that's what i did, but there they are saying that it's my fault and that i've scratched it myself. How can i proof that's it's a common problem with that phone??? help plz... i previously has a n95 with a very good camera, sold it, and now can't accept having bought a more expensive one which should be better with it's double flash etc.and be so disappointed.
I noticed that the camera lens of my N8 is not at the center. So, I was wondering whether it's also the reason why my camera is off focus, yielding blurry photos and videos.
So I've had this problem for quite a while. There is 2 black dots in the lens, pictures and videos I took. I've got no idea how to get rid of them. Can someone please tell me how to open the it properly so I can clean the lens? Heres how it looks like.
I've noticed when I was taking a picture in low lighting conditions with the newly installed camera lens so that means it won't produce scratches that I can see flashflooding.there is a hazyness over the left side of the picture.
I have a Nokia Supernova 7610 phone with 3.2 megapixel camera. Some days ago it dropped into water and I had to repair it via Nokia service centre. But after it was returned to me whenever I am opening the camera hazy lines and grains are appearing and the clarity of picture is not like I used to have before. I guess moisture or fungus has caused this in the lens. Is it possible to clear the camera lens if i give it to Nokia care?
My nokia 5800 takes many time to autofocus i.e. changing of bracket from yellow to green. Firstly I can see zooming of lens in and out during autofocus, but now I can't. As a result the pic it shoots is blurred. When i compare the picture quality of 5800 with 5233 (2 mp), I found quality of 5233's pic is far better than 3.2 mp carl zeiss lens.
The front-facing camera on the Nokia 920 getting dust particles inside the lens? This should be a very sealed area. I don't work in dusty environments, etc. Just a normal office IT Professional, and is in a case most of the time and rarely in a pocket.
Opening my N900 camera cover does not launch camera app anymore. If screen is turned off, then opening the cover turns screen on but camera app does not start. I can start camera software only from menu. Restarting device does not help.
I don't know how it happened, but the plastic cover(mounted to camera) which covers the lens & flash has an oblique crack across it.
It's not interfering with picture-taking (and I still have the removable clear plastic cover over the top (the one that comes with new camera). Is it worth repairing ?If so, how would I go about this ?
now I know why they take out the slider on N97 mini. It's a megnetic switch under the slider.that means, you can not use megnetic leather case as it will activate the camera even when it's locked.I must have my leather megnetic case.
There looks like there's a piece of grey metal hanging almost halfway down past my camera lens behind the glass. I don't know why it's like this. I also have had trouble focusing up close and I think this is the cause. I tried taking a picture of my hands up close and it focuses just fine, yet his doesn't have something hanging down. My friends claimed this this thing hangs down too.
I have had my Motorola for a long time, and now there is a lot of dust behind the camera lens. BEHIND, not on it. in the pictures you can see spots from this, and I was wondering if there is a way to remove the lens and clean it.
i have had my Blackberry bold 9000 for quite a while and have had no complaints other than the odd small problem but i have been able to work out how to swap the camera lens from taking pics from the front of the phone.
I read the sticky about the 5 things to do to your S% when you get it and have a question about removing the clear plastic film over the camera lens. The sticky says to remove it but on mine there's a hole in the centre right over the middle of the lens, a few mm in diameter. I assumed it was there was there for protection so have left it in place especially in view of the hole over the centre of the lens. So is it still obscuring something or can I leave it there?
