I have dropped my phone so many times it now needs the main camera lens cover replacing. I cannot find one anywhere. Even genuine cases off ebay do not have it so it must be built on to the board. Any ideas what to do with my phone?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a W995 and I am trying to turn off the shutter sounds for the camera. I know many people with SE phones and they all tell me the same thing. You can turn them off in the settings for the camera. On my W995 there is no option for the shutter sounds to be off there is only 4 sounds to choose from. I am sure that there should be a fifth option for off but its not there. How do i turn them off? I got 10 days cooling off period on my contract and this, along with a day of wifi problems, will mean the phone will be going back if there is no resolution for it.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi had my n900 for a while now.camera lens cover(top part) has peeled off from its glue and the wire makes the cover open and close came loose by itself. i have the warranty but i do not want to send my phone just for the cover for 2 weeks. is there any place on web that i can order the lens cover only and replace it my self. its very east to remove since its plastic base.i only have the blue base on the phone now and it is loose so its keep opening the camera mode. very annoying. please help.

But now whenever i open the lens cover of the camera, it doesn't open the camera instead i've to press the lens cover hard down to activate my camera. Also there is a gap down highlighted with circle and the black lens cover is slightly coming in front of camera again highlighted by an arrow.

How can I know that the one i am going to buy is one of the "later models"? I do not complain about that specific camera lens problem, but it's always nice to buy the most recent hardware. I just want a way to know what hardware version is the phone I am going to buy. Is it written on the box? What's the format? Screenshots?
So I purchased an iPhone 4 about 2-3 weeks ago, and I'm really careful where I set it down as to not scratch it. (My local bar tender knows to put two coasters down, one for a drink and another for my iPhone), but I recently noticed that on the back camera that the glass is really scratched up that covers the lens. My question is: does anyone know how I can go into a store and get them to switch out my old one for a new one? Like a guaranteed problem I can report that they will swap it for?

It doesn' really affect the camera but it just bugs me that it's there and i've compared with other 4s' and it's not there. Any insight or ideas as to why this shutter-looking thing is over my camera lens?

for some new Sony Ericsson phones (I know the W995 has this problem for sure) there is no option to turn off the camera sound or the focus sound, even when silent mode is on. Here I am going to guide you through a solution to overcome this.What we are going to do is replace the sound files for the camera sound and the focus sound with a sound which is silent, using A2uploader.
1. Download this .rar file I have uploaded with 3 sound files, namely camerafocus.3gp, camerashutter2.3gp and camerashutter2_rer.3gp
2. Currently you can choose the following sounds
1. Camera shutter
2. Bear can opening
3.Tennis ball
4. Laser
The files in the .rar have been created to replace the Beer can opening sound, however if you want to keep this one, then change the number on the end e.g to replace the Laser sound the two files would be camerashutter4.3gp and camerashutter4_rer.3gp Although please note to replace the Camera shutter sound the number on the end is not 1, but is no number at all e.g. camerashutter.3gp and camerashutter_rer.3gp3.Now you connect your phone to A2uploader (see Tutorial on main website for how to do this) and go to tpa/presets/system/sound and drop all 3 files into this folder. If you want to keep the sound you're replacing right click on it and click 'read' this will create a folder ph_out with this file in it.4.Shut down A2uploader, switch on phone and bobs your uncle!You can also add other sounds, I created a Gavin and Stacey one here but I will happily accept requests for others.Hope this helps! The Wi-Fi icon is green but when I try to connect to the internet a small e appears above the signal strength bars. My phone started not working so I switched off, sincve when it won't go past the Sony logo before the screen goes blank. It is seen by the PC for a few seconds every minute or so, and that's it. I can't do anything with it, and the battery is charged and the sim card is not faulty.

There is no pattern and just happens at random 2-3 times a day. Have tried the software update but it still happens. Only way to clear the problem is to remove the battery and then it will restart!

I'm quite bummed that the new fw doesn't allow manual installation for the Facebook app I've been using since the last fw. It's strange that after the fw update my APAC-ANZ doesn't come with it while another phone with the same CDA and fw does. Actually it does allow manual installation, it just doesn't integrate itself with the phone anymore, ie. able to log on but I can't view any of the pictures, there's no Facebook link for 'send to' in the photo gallery which used to allow me to upload photos directly to my Facebook page etc. Am kinda wondering if any of you kind souls could help me out with this.

However when I plug the usb cable in and go through the connecting proceedure it get rights the way to the end and then a grey box appears with an error message, send error report, don't send error report and which ever one you click shuts down the pc suite and you have to go through it all again for the same error report at the end!
