I have a HTC Desire C running Android 4.0.3 (ICS), originally on 3 Network, but unlocked to all networks.
The problem I have is that the home Keys do not light up. Proximity sensor works
fine, If I cover the sensors to the right of the HTC logo, the screen goes dark,
If I use the phone in the dark, the screen dims as it should but the keys do not
light up.
I've downloaded a few apps to test the sensors & the values changes on proximity & light sensors as I cover them so I know the sensors are good.
I've checked that Auto Brightness is enabled, I've disabled it & enabled it several times, works fine in different light levels as it auto adjusts - rebooted phone with battery out etc & cannot get them to light up.
Other than taking it back to the store. Was thinking of trying to reload the phone without 3's custom software on it to see if it's something in their ROM.
i've had a torch 9800 since last Christmas, and it's been working fine (with the occasional battery pull, of course). but now i have a strange problem. in the last couple weeks, i've noticed that the back arrow and the red key to the right of the trackpad no longer have a light showing behind them. (nor does the trackpad, but i don't remember if it ever did light up) it's not really a problem, as they still work, but it looks really weird!i have tried a battery pull many times, to no avail. and i also tried installing a brand new os, but likewise had no success with that method. in any case, it is now running the newest os possible (6.0 bundle 1907, v6.0.0.448). it's also running 3G, if that matters.
RAZR Maxx My problem is about the 4 bottom icons/buttons/keys (Menu, Home, Back, Search) not lighting properly. When in a fairly dark room they always stay lit. Last night before sundown the icons were not lit. It was too dark to see them without being lit. It also depended on the position. I do not know if this was due to internal position sensors or just getting different levels of light from the light sensors. I called Verizon Tech Support and they said this was normal. It may be "normal" but hard to use the phone if I cannot see the icons/buttons/keys.
I've upgraded to v6 today from v5. In v5 I had simply turned off the 'dial from home screen' option & was able to use keys to directly access my apps. For eg I would press 'M' to open messages or 'N' for BBM, 'U' for calculator etc. I can't seem to do this any more in v6.
had the X10 since May last year, My soft keys, ie Home, Back and Menu buttons stop working randomly. I have searched this forum and haven't been able to find any answers. I do not have a case on my phone which could affect the use of the buttons. The strange thing is that I have had the phone sent for repair under my insurance policy. It comes back working fine. The problem only seems to reoccur when i go out.Phone works fine in the house but as soon as I travel half a mile away the buttons stop working. If I switch the phone off then on again they start to work but if I'm still moving (eg in the car) they stop again. Once I become stationary either at home or work, they work fine until I move again.
My Nokia X6 has stopped displaying the music control keys (ffd, play, rew) in the home screen. The radio controls are missing as well. Anyone has an idea how to fix?
All of a sudden my home keys across the bottom of the 9800 do no light up. I checked the backlight settings for display but they had no effect on the home keys. Even in a completely dark room, when I take the 9800 out of the holster, the screen lights up but the home keys are out.
So i got my phone about a week ago and when i do a reset back to factory new, they work until i have done the set up of phone, it no longer works. When i check under settings and display there is no options for my lights. How to turn it on?
I updated my x10 mini pro a few days ago to android 2.1 The problem is that after the update the menu, home and back keys don't work after screen timeout so I have to press the key on the top of the phone to activate the screen and then unlock it.The point is why the hardware keys on the front don't work after screen timeout? Pressing the key on the top and then unlocking the phone can be really annoying...
I just bought the Droid 4 yesterday and the keys do not react until I press them about 3 or 4 times. Is something wrong with the phone, should I take it back, or is this a deficiency with all Droid 4 phones. Is there a sensitivy setting for the menu keys.
I've just set up my flickr account on my new Desire z android, but it's not offering me the option to put a shortcut or widget on my home page - checked shortcuts, widgets and aps, and tried looking in settings for account sync and management, but no go.
The display bar at the bottom of the home screen (housing the app, phone and personalize keys) has changed from that cool curve to an ugly block and I can't work out how to change it back.
The menu-home-back-search keys at the bottom of the phone seem to randomly come off and on. I can't seem to tie it to any phone function. Is anyone else experiencing this.
I've noticed something strange on my Bionic. If I enable any of the screen lock mechanisms (password, pin, or pattern), the home and search keys stop working. I have to hit the back key multiple times if I'm within an app to get back to my homescreen so I can open the app drawer.
I've been running my Desire S for about 6 months now. Just about set up how I like it. nnoyingly it has developed a problem where after playing with any app and pressing the home screen, 9 times out of 10 I get the white background with green HTC logo, then a "Loading..." message over the home screen. When I go back to the app I was *just using*, it acts as if I've opened it for the first time and forgets where I was, what pages I was on, which album I was currently listening to etc.I've tried a few things suggested by the Internet: - Restarting the phone (of course)- Removing all widgets from home screen in case one of them has crashed- Checking I am not regularly running out of ram- Checking I am not dangerously close to running out of iternal storage- Unmounting the SD card- Un-installed any app I've added in the past month- Checking none of the app icons have become duplicated on top of each other (??? hey I was getting desperate)I have also been keeping an eye on the Services tab but to be honest, things seem to restart so often in here that it is hard to identify which one is acting out of the ordinary.
I took this into the t-Mobile shop, explained that I know they are not HTC tech support but that they might have seen the issue before and have a bit of a clue with the phones they sell, explained what I'd done above and they came back with the most unhelpful of default cop-out answers: "Software update."Latest Android version available through t-mobile is 2.3.3 which I am on.TC Sense is at v2.1oes anyone have any ideas? I would really rather sort this out without having to factory reset my phone. Firstly as I had my phone pretty much set up how I wanted it, secondly I have so many apps for which I have no idea how to reliably transfer their saved info (mostly music creation apps with their own save formats/locations) and thirdly so that I know how to resolve this when it inevitably happens again.
My iPhone 4 volume keys and silent/ringer keys are not working and it doesn't ring and vibrate when i get a call or text and neither the sound working when i use any app like games etc. but when i go to settings and change the ringtone then its ringing and the sound is working when i play music but there is a problem as well the headphone dock is not working.
The weather app on my home screen doesn't always display the weather - it often says there is no data available. However, when I access the app and manually refresh the weather is displayed and remains when I return to the home screen. Is this an issue without Android 2.2 or is the handset at fault? The same app works perfectly on my Hero running on android 2.1
I have HTC Desire. I had some videos and pictures in my mobile. I never deleted them from my mobile, I just transferred them to my PC and with transfer they disappear. I can't see them in Gallery any more. Luckily due to the backup software Astro, i have got my Pictures back but I can't locate my videos anywhere. To remind you, I just transferred them, not deleted them from mobile.
The HTC desire and HT Sync work well with Contacts, Photos and Calendar. But with documents, the synchronisation appears to be from the PC to the Desire and not the other way round. Thus it appears to copy rather than synchronise.
On my PC and Galaxy Tab 10.1, when connected to my home router, I get about 1.5 mbps for my download speed. On the HTC I get less than 500 kbps. Anyone any ideas on how I can improve the download speed on the Desire, or is this the speed which it is supposed to operate at?
This morning my screen will not stay off. Every few seconds it lights up for 10 seconds or so. It's completely frustrating. I've uninstalled every app I can think of that would have anything to do with custom notifications, screen lighting or the lockscreen with no success.
Between this and the phantom mail alert sound I can't kill I'm about to reset it factory defaults and set it up one app at a time to ensure I get it right.
While my phone is asleep (or whatever you call it) it keeps lighting up about every 3 min. for about 2 seconds and then it goes out. There are no new notifications or anything it has just been recently doing this for the past week. Is it an app or setting that I was unaware of that I have done?? How can I get it to stop??
just upgraded software on 8900 to 5.0.0.509 and the homescreen keeps lighting up by itself more or less every 5-10 mins and im not too sure why its doing it
I am a new BB owner and I set my LED backlight to 30 seconds, however it keeps coming back on, even after I have pressed the Mute button to lock the screen.
