View 1 RepliesSince installation of WhatsApp on my (recently purchased) Nexus 5, when vibration setting is set to "default" in application, the phone does not vibrate on receipt of a new WhatsApp message, even while system settings are set to "Vibrate when Ringing".
It vibrates though when the WhatsApp vibration settings are set to 'Short' or 'Long'
So basically, the "default" mode in vibration settings of WhatsApp is not ruled by the system settings, rather follows the rule - Vibrate when the phone is set on silent, and do not vibrate when ringing is enabled.
Is this how it is supposed to work? Because as per my read around I got an impression that default mode is to govern the app notification as per system setting. Am I missing something?
I have purchased an apps which name is (OZ for iPad) from iTunes on June.25. but why I still have no email-receipt received?

Just got a replacement device from moto, and I wanted to flash build E for 5.1, I am currently running build E, but when I was flashing the newer build I forgot to have the phone update to 5.0.1, so I jumped from 5.0 straight to 5.1. Should I have updated to 5.0.1 then to 5.1?

My fiancee has an iphone and has been trying to send me MMS, and they're not coming through to the Hangouts app. I have auto-retrieve set to ON (even checked auto retrieve on roaming just to make sure). I'm on LTE in NYC (AT&T). I've rebooted the phone, tried deleting the message thread and starting a new one, airplane mode, etc...APN seems fine.
The strange part is this was working just the other day. Now, I'm totally new to Android (coming from an iPhone) so is it possible I changed some setting without knowing what I was doing? Possibly. Do I recall what I did? Nope.
Even stranger: Textra shows the image fine. Hangouts does not.
Google sent me a replacement nexus 5 and it still hasn't received the ota lollipop update? My old nexus 5 I sent back to Google had been running lollipop for a while via the ota update..

View 22 Replies View RelatedWhen i click on setting there is a storage & USB atab under device which I click on. When I do this, no internal storage is available in order for me to click on MTP. When I click on the three dots it says Help and Feedback. The phone is not locked. I am tethering my phone to my computer.
My goal is to transfer pictures from my phone to my computer via tethering but I cannot locate the internal storage in order to click on MTP.
It all started on 5.1.1. I flashed a new build of carbon and suddenly it was searching for WiFi constantly and not finding it at all. So I did a clean install of exodus and then cm 12.1. So I went back to stock locked my boot loader on 6.0.1. The WiFi issue still persist.

I am having trouble finding my nandroid backup file made with TWRP. I can't even find the TWRP directory! This file system is so confusing! Reason is since I have an email account like I assume most folks do, I hate getting 200 spam emails per day and I think it reasonable to be able to "select, delete" instead of having to long hold and delete each individually. I have looked at other apps in the Play store but none seem to be reviewed as well as my opinion of Kit kat email client.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHad this phone a little over a month now and notice that sometimes when someone sends me a text that comes in 2 parts because of the length of it, I will receive the 2nd part of the message first (out of order). Now this isn't so bad as long as the first part comes in so I can read the whole message. However I have had at least 3 situations where I only received the 2nd part of the message and never received the first part. So I had to ask the senders to resend the message over again. Now this could be a network issue and nothing to do with the phone but I don't recall this ever happening on any other phone I have used.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI started having this issue yesterday--I have YMail, Hotmail and GMail accounts all in the stock e-mail app on my Nexus 5. I also use Lightflow for LED notifications and have had no problems. I noticed I was no longer receiving the taskbar icon notifications in the upper left for new e-mails, nor the Lightflow LED notifications. I still get Hangout/text notifications, not sure about missed calls.
1) Confirmed notifications set to On in the e-mail app for each of the e-mail accounts
2) Turned phone off and then back on
3) Cleared data and cleared cache in e-mail app -- didn't work
4) Uninstalled Lightflow app
5) Deleted all 3 accounts from the e-mail app, then added them back in; rebooted -- still no notifications
I don't use the stock GMail app for GMail since I prefer to just have one icon to use to keep track of all my e-mail accounts.
Even though the N6 is my personal mobile; when I'm out & about it's handy to have my business emails coming in to me so I can reply to them where necessary so I've set this up and it's been great on days like this where I've decided to have a day out of the office etc...
Anyway; on my Note 4 I can set in the settings it so that every email I reply to; it'll 'CC' me in on the reply. However, I cannot find this option on the N6.
My Nexus 5 did an OTA upgrade to marshmallow today. SMS (handcent) and email didn't work after the upgrade. I fixed the SMS by uninstalling and re-installing handcent ( I think it is called Next SMS) now.
The email still doesn't work. When I click on the existing email app on the homescreen, it says 'app not installed'. The settings/accounts shows a Personal (POP3) account set up with the correct details, but I don't know how to access it.. There is no way to add an email app/widget to the homescreen... (there is nothing to do with email in the apps or widgets sections).
How to save email attachment on the Nexus 6? When I open the attachment (PDF, jpg, etc), I'll hit save but where is it saved. I've checked galleries and download folders but the are empty

Nexus doesn't have this feature? I turn on notifications and I get a little letter envelop in the top status bar but that's it.
I sometime send emails from my Nexus 5 using GMail. A friend mentioned that the emails come in with a very, very small font.

Using the stock email app have issues with Exchange meeting/calendar invites? If I receive a meeting request via email (from my work account) there are no details about the invite (date, time or location). I am given the option for the following in the body of the email:
Calendar Invite - "View in Calendar"
Going? - "Yes", "Maybe" or "No"
If I choose "View in Calendar", my calendar will open to the invite date, but will not show the proposed time block, just what is already scheduled for that date. If I choose "Yes" to accept, there is a small prompt stating "responding to sender" (or something similar), however it never shows up in the calendar.

For the native gmail app in lollipop, is there some way to get a pop-up at the top of the screen when I'm using the device and a new gmail arrives. I get sound but no pop-up showing a preview of the message. I get it for text messages but not gmails.
