View 15 Replies View RelatedSince the last windows update from this week windows cant detect my nexus 5. I tried everything. It keeps showing up like "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" And i doesn't show up immediately when i plug in the phone. It takes like 10 seconds, then it shows that with a yellow triangle.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm running Cataclysm ROM (the Sept. 10 beta), Franco kernel, and I'm rooted and use Xposed. I receive this error when I try to add a card in Android Pay: "Android Pay cannot be used: Google is unable to verify that your device of the software running on it is Android compatible". I tried disabling root entirely and using RootCloak (Xposed) to hide root from Android Pay and Google Wallet, but I still can't use Pay. Wallet still works as it always has.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI reset my phone because after 5.1.1 update my phone battery was poor so i reset my phone copied songs from my PC to nexus 5 when i open Google play music it is unable to detect those transferred songs. when i went to ES Explorer i can able to see all the songs i copied. what should i do? one more reset? is there any way to say google play music about songs presence?
P.S i already deleted cache, cleared data of that app no use
I bought a song from the play store the other day only to find that Google Play Music will no longer play any music on my Nexus 5. I do have PowerAmp set as my default player (I think) and I cleared the GPM app cache. It should work but it doesn't play anything at all, none of my other music either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy music library lacks decent album arts, and I was wondering if there is any way of getting rid of the full screen album art on the lockscreen and instead just having my regular wallpaper?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a serious problem involving my music files which I have transferred via USB to my Nexus 5. After a system update to Android 5.1, my local music files still exist on the device but DO NOT show up in any music player. I have tried to use Google Play Music (my default music player) as well as other music players from the Play Store. ALL indicate that I have zero song files on my device which I know is definitely NOT true. I used to be able to play them and view all albums in Google Play Music but now the music files are ONLY accessible via ES File Explorer.
Nexus 5, 32 GB
Android 5.1
Google Play Music 5.8.1836R.1787745
I do not wish to have to play music manually through the file explorer, and I NEED at least Google Play Music working
I cannot send or receive pictures through text. I was able to before the lollipop 5.0 update on my nexus 5.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo recently I started having this problem. My Nexus 5 stopped charging all of a sudden.
After messing around I found out that I could charge the phone when it is turned off, but when I boot it (while connected) it doesn't show the charging icon. Only when looking up the battery status at the setting menu it says charging.
To my surprise fastboot was still working (adb wasnt) what brought me to think it's not the hardware.
So far I have done a factory reset, wiped everything, installed stock kernel and recovery, downgraded to stock 5.0 (I don't even know why, just thought its worth a shot...).
At some point I took the phone apart to try to determine whether I tore out the connector itself, and noticed nothing.
I can live with having to reboot the phone for charging, but I really need it to connect to the computer.
my device is LG nexus 5 , last few days i have face device auto restart problem, os 5.1.1 build is LMY48M

I'm trying to use either my nexus 5 or nexus 7 as a webcam for my PC. I bought a webcam on amazon for around $20 and they were complete crap, i cant afford anything more right now and i have both these devices with great cameras already. is there a way to connect them through usb to my PC so i can use them as a webcam? I tried ip webcam but my internet suck and when i stream both the video and anything online it lags and i need lag free. I assumed connecting through usb would be better, but i cant find anything good on how to do that. i tried WO Webcam but it connects briefly and then just disconnects.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had to replace my Nexus 6. I have backed up "all" of my photos. Hoping that they really are "all" saved. I now have my new device and I am wanting to save my photos to it. But I want to do so in an organized manner. Such as putting all the kids pics in the kids folder type thing. Right now, they are all jumbled up because last time I had to do it through Bluetooth. I read through some forums and saw that you can do that by going to the highlights section...but that only goes so far back [in time] and doesn't have all my photos in it. Not sure how to do it, and I don't want to lose any of my photos, like other people have been by using google to store pics. I want the memory card slots back!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to add music to my phone from my computer's music library. When I plug in my Android Nexus 5, I keep getting a message popping up on my computer that says: "Can't access device storage: if your devices screen is locked, disconnect the USB cable, unlock your screen, and then reconnect the USB cable." I have tried this answer without success many times. How do I access and update my music collection from my laptop?? (I have a 2008 Apple MacBook Pro). Is there another way to update my music via internet, or any other method that does not require direct connection?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy WiFi is intermittently disconnecting when my device is asleep. I wake it up and the WiFi is often 'disconnected', but connects automatically once it's awake.
When I wake my phone, there's no WiFi connection and there's a little '?' next to the mobile signal icon - but when I wake it up, the WiFi connects and the '?' on the mobile signal disappeared.
'Keep WiFi on during the sleep' is toggled to 'always', so I really can't understand why it's doing this.
I've had Lollipop for about a month now, but it's only started happening today. I've 'forgot' the network, restarted the device and reconnected, but it's still dropping out when my phone's asleep.
For the native gmail app in lollipop, is there some way to get a pop-up at the top of the screen when I'm using the device and a new gmail arrives. I get sound but no pop-up showing a preview of the message. I get it for text messages but not gmails.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI successfully rooted my Nexus 5 without entirely knowing what I was doing. But I am finally ready for the Lollipop update that came over the air several days ago. I finally downloaded it, but when it got ready to install it the phone went into what I believe was recovery mode and said "teamwin," before opening up to a menu. From there, I didn't exactly know what to do to get Lollipop to install itself.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have successfully changed the Wi-Fi Device Name on my Nexus 5 via Settings > Wi-Fi > Options menu > Wi-Fi Direct > Rename Device.
The problem is that this has not changed what I understand as the Wi-Fi device name, i.e. the network hostname of the device. The hostname remains as "android-<long alphanumeric string>".
I have tried factory reset 3 times now and still the device keeps on restarting on its own if it goes to sleep mode ...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed a custom recovery on my nexus 6 called Rastapop. Don't get me wrong, its a great rom, it's just not for me. I would like to completely revert back to android 5.0.1 because I loved it. I completely wiped the device before installing Rastapop, so I cannot simply "factory reset" my device.
I can completely handle the flashing process due to the fact that I am an experienced programer. All I need from you is the link to the Nexus 6 5.0.1 ROM, and the link to the Nexus 6 5.0.1 GAPPS (Google Apps).
Iknow how to flash. I do fastboot oem unlock, then I have unlocked LG, but when i flash the ROM it restarts, and adb cant flash the ROM because after reboot the device is locked again.
I can't login to ROM, its bricked so i can use only adb... cant wipe cache and partition , cant reset to factory -
It says : E: cant mount partition...
I'm setting up my Nexus 6P and see this option that says I can transfer stuff from my old android to my new one but when I open Google App and go to settings I cannot find anything called "search for nearby device"...where is it? Also, is this feature in just Lollipop and higher?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy device runs on AOSIP Hammerhead 2.2 ROM with Solo Gapps. Everything was fine until 2 a couple of days back my device started rebooting at regular intervals. Sometimes when I unlock the screen it reboots, or which working with some application it reboots. After suggestions from some friends I did a dirty and clean flash as well and did a fresh flashing of the ROM + Gapps. But it still ain't resolving my problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a lot of issues with lollipop 5.1.1 in my nexus. All Google apps connected to internet only via WiFi and it wouldn't connect through the mobile data connection.
And then there was the battery life problem. So I switched to PA 4.6 beta based on kitkat. I would now like to try Marshmallow.
My question is, will downloading the factory image and flashing it through clockwork mod work? Or should I revert back to 5.1.1 nandroid backup I made earlier and wait for OTA? I can see some post about a feature called verity and the complications it brings to rooted users in 6.0. Does this affect the process of flashing a stock factory image on a rooted phone?
When i'm on the road with my scooter atm i can't listen to any music. Currently using default Play Music app but that doesn't support the bluetooth profile HFP (Hands Free Profile). So i'm looking for an mp3 music player that does (pref adfree free, paid can work too) but it MUST support the HFP profile for my helmet bluetooth scala rider. It's an older model that doesn't support A2DP.
Posting this here cause i've got no clue what to use, if such a thing exists at all.A bonus would be that navigation instructions (navigon europe over HFP) still come through. Not asking for what's best etc, just curious if such a thing exists. I'll make my own choice afterwards. Free (no ads) if possible, paid is an option too.
This morning (19 March 2015), my Nexus 5 updated its Google Play Music App to v 5.8.1836R.1787745. Now, once I start the thing, it won't stop. Yes. It stops playing music. But, the app continues to sit in the notification area when I drag down from the top, the Bluetooth "headphones" icon won't go away, and the phone starts to heat up at the top back. How to go back to the old behavior of it just going away when I'm done with it?
View 11 Replies View Related My nexus 5 is having screen issues and the screen basically doesn't function due to what I can only assume is a bad connection on the mainboard ( if I press in the right area with the back cover off the screen will flicker and work a tiny bit if I reboot the phone.) My issue is I still have tons of pictures that are very dear to me on the device and need to get them off of it.
When I connect it to my pc (windows 7) it connects and shows up as a nexus 5 device but nothing will appear in the folder. Im fairly certain I have the correct drivers installed as well. So how can I get it to connect properly with having basically no access to the screen?
I have a rooted N5 and im running 6.0 build MRA58K and continue to get prompted to install a security update. My question is, is it safe to install this update, will i lose root or have to reroot? If i "unroot" the system with supersu and then install it after, would that work too? Also i would like to update my kernel to the newest version. Im running blu_spark build #30. Would i just reflash the kernel or do i have to jump through hoops by reflashing the rom first? I dont remember how it works.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI currently have an unlocked Nexus 6 running latest build of 5.1 on Verizon right now since Sunday. However I can't get the Nexus to show in my Android Device Manager. The Nexus does show in Google Play. I have cleared cache and data from Device Manager app, I have uninstalled and re installed Device Manager as well. I have went into Google settings>Security and toggled on and off "Remotely locate this device" and "Allow remote lock and erase". I have powered down and on this device several times. I have removed my Google account and then resigned back into the account. I just can't think of anything else to do. I have searched online for this problem and have done everything that was told to me. I am hoping not to factory reset the device but if its the last result, I may not have a choose.
P.S. Is there a setting that I'm missing that has either Gmail or Inbox app retrieve emails quicker. It doesn't seem to be refreshing or pushing the emails to my phone very often. I have missed couple very important emails because of this. Not sure if its a related problem with the device manager situtation (doubt it).
Just checking in on Android Device Manager every now and then, and I notice the Nexus 6 I've had since November is a no show. My Nexus 7 and Asus TF Prime show on the list as expected.
I have Android Device Manager enabled as an administrator in the phone settings, and I don't see much in the way of settings on the site.
