So, I've only had this phone for a month. I am not sure how this occurred or maybe it's due to the recent updates as I usually ignore the updates so I decided to update my phone. Now, it can't detect my phone. Just charges. I've done everything....download the samsung driver for my phone, download Kies and done the developer option to USB debugging..

My phone errors out when I setup the account through the phone. Koodo does not allow setting it up through a browser. They say the server I have used my 8830 on for years is not compatible with my new 9360 and that it is a Blackberry problem!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got an S6 and oddly enough, a new computer as well. The computer has USB 3.0 ports on the front panel and USB 2.0 ports on the back. I've discovered that when I plug my phone into the rear ports, the phone starts charging and Windows recognizes the phone as a storage device and opens explorer. However when I plug my phone into any of the front ports, it charges the phone but Windows does not recognize it as a storage device.
I thought USB was supposed to be universal. Shouldn't I be able to use a 3.0 port on a phone and just have it work slower if the device itself is not 3.0 compatible?
I'm sure the title set off a few noob alarms Everything I've read online says USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0. I recently bought a pair of Anker micro USB 3.0 cables from Amazon UK (can't post a link). When I use these to try to connect my Samsung S5 to my computers, I get mixed results.
On my desktop: plugging into a USB 3.0 port on the motherboard works fine. The USB front panel of my case is USB 2.0 only. Plugging the phone into these ports using the Anker cable results in the phone only charging, Windows does see it. These ports work fine with the phone if I use a micro USB 2.0 cable.
On my laptop, all the ports as USB 2.0. Plugging the phone into the standard ports results in the phone only charging, Linux does mount the phone. However, plug the phone into the yellow "always on" port and my phone is detected.Do I have duff cable, duff phone or there some odd incompatibility here?
I got my S6 the week it came out, so I've had it for a decent amount of time, without any problems until last week. One day I experienced a sharp battery drain, and plugged it in my PC to charge. To my surprise it wouldn't charge! It shows that it's charging, but it wont go up in charge. The only way to charge it now is with its own fast charger. I fiddled with it a bit, (cleared cache, uninstalled apps, etc. ) and I can say the battery drain problem seems to be fixed for now. But I'm still unable to charge it up via the PC (or a laptop) USB port.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use ##3424# and get the option to set Qualcomm USB Settings and enable DM + Modem + ADB. I then plug in the usb cable to the pc and it does not connect to the phone on any of the ports. Adb does not show the device or anything. If I enable MTP + ADB, then adb shows the device fine and the mtp shows the card + phone just fine. Is there something else that needs to be done to enable DM for Lollipop 5.0?

I was chatting with Sprint text support and they are trying to tell me this is a limitation for Android phones. I know this is BS because my wife has a HTC M8. Am I doing something wrong? Their solution is to send MMS messages over mobile data. I do not think it is acceptable to have to toggle between mobile and wifi to send group messages. I did test and the group/MMS messaging does work on Mobile data so this is purely limited to my wifi being an issue...
My samsung s6 edges gets too hot. Is it natural that samsung s6 edges cpu temperature Can be high as 57c to 75c? I was about to sell my phone. Now im not sure.
Cooler master software says phones temperature is about 38 c.

I've noticed that the phone heats up a lot when under a heavy load, which I understand, but when I'm holding it, it feels like it could almost burn me. The phone is not overheating, although when it does heat up I do notice the performance drop. None of this is a dealbreaker, I just wanted to know, is it normal for the phone to get so hot? Is it just because the phone's outer casing is metal and glass rather than plastic that it feels like this?

However, it is updating when I get an email to my junk email. Am I able to get text pop up notifications on my edge screen? It's seems that I have all the serring set up for it but it's not working. I am using Samsung default text app and have edge settings to show texts... maybe text pop up notifications are not possible.
