Before I updated my phone, at least 3 days ago, my emoji icon would work. Even if the keyboard was open. But now, if I press the emoji icon, even using the default theme for my phone it lights up and nothing comes up. Is there anything that could be done or I haven't paid enough much attention to this change?

Why can't I hit the smiley face on the keyboard for emoji? For my galaxy 6 edge. It will only work if I haven't typed anything! If I have already started typing and want to add an emoji it won't work.why?

Does anyone know if use the emoji application to unlock the emoji emoticon keyboard set, if you are sending MMS messages instead os SMS messages?

I have had this phone for a few weeks now, and today I must have hit something because there is a blue app icon on my screen that actually moves from screen to screen. I have tried to delete it or put it in the trash can.

I had a quick online search and I see that I am not alone. My phone is running standard launcher so I haven't changed anything on the phone, apart from usual wallpapers and personalisations.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Galaxy S6 Edge. Issue started happening two days ago. Even when there are no new messages the WhatsApp icon shows "1" suggesting there is one unread message.
Also even though there are multiple unread messages it still shows "1" in the icon.
Tried clearing cache and force restarting the app and still doesn't work.
After I updated to android 5.1.1 on my S6 edge Ive lost my badge app icon aka notification count for whats app textra and other apps that used to show notification counts on them prior to the update ( android 5.0.2). I am using the normal touchwiz launcehr that came with my phone. I have used it as well before the update.

Samsung really does make terrific phones.One thing I was curious about, that I noticed recently, was that when I plug headphones into the phone, the little headphone icon appears in the top left corner and says that headphones are now connected and then the icon and message disappear. Coming from the HTC one M8 I am used to the headphone icon remaining there the whole time my headphones are plugged in and was wondering if this is normal for it to prompt me that the headphones are connected and then disappear?
Also, on a, possibly related, side note, having weird issues with the spotify app just crashing or pausing for no reason? I was thinking that it was either due to notifications I was getting, a bad headphone jack, or maybe the app is just bugging out.
I cant see the smiley icon for my emoji. Even when I press and hold the microphone icon the icon for the emoji is not there. I tried to use my keyboard everywhere like my note and other apps. Still cant see my emoji icons.

The phone icon went missing and it's not listed with in the apps area/drawer. However, when I check under Application Manager, its shows three phone applications which seem to be dupes. They can't be uninstalled or disabled. I've done force close and restarted the phone but no luck. I'm using Nova Launcher. I just got the the phone set-up the way I wanted so the the thought of a factory reset makes me queasy.

Device Manager shows a device called MTP when I connect the phone (Should be Media Transfer Protocol). I tried using the Camera Mode (PTP) but this time it shows SAMSUNG_Android.

And when I record it's getting absolutely no noise at all. However, it does work with an external headphone mic and over Bluetooth.
I've tried turning it off and removing and reinserting the SIM card, deleting the cache, using a small pin to clear the mic hole of "debris." Nothing is working. Firmware is apparently up to date.
I am using the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and have had several Galaxies in the past. The other phones would predict what word I would type next, so I didn't have to enter all of the words manually. This phone doesn't do that, although it does try to guess which word I'm currently trying to enter. I'm using the Swype keyboard, just as I used to on other models. Why this feature isn't working?

Just went to plug it in and it said six hours until fully charged. Thought it was just because it was at 6% and need some more power or something to start the fast charge? Doesn't seem so. I tried different wall outlets and it's still not fast charging. I am using the charger that came with the phone. It's charging so incredibly slow.
View 24 Replies View RelatedSo I've never dropped my s6 edge. It's only 20 days old in fact. However today all of a sudden the touch screen will not work. The two bottom buttons work as does the fingerprint work so I can unlock the phone and see the home screen but not do anything else. Typically if battery pull to fix something like this, however of course this is not possible on the s6.
So I've held the power button for 30 secs and it won't turn off cos it wants me too press the screen power off button, I've tried restarting it by booting it into download mode.
It started a few days ago when suddenly my emoji's wouldn't load .

I have a trusted Device (bose Headset) added as well. But still my device gets locked automatically after 5 mins even if i am in the trusted place or connected to trusted device.

When I received a text message it didn't make the sound so I thought my phone was on vibrate or silent but it wasn't so then I went to settings and checked my notification setting and when I clicked the sound it didn't make a sound. So then I checked if I could hear the ringtone and I also couldn't hear. Mind you the volume is all the way up. So I decided to restart my phone and the sound worked gain but after a while the sound went away again and idk what is causing it.

If I mess with it enough and open and close it a bunch of times it will work again but then later it stops.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.I've missed my alarm the last two mornings and I now realise why > the vibration wasn't working. I have it set to Vibrate only (no Sound) as I don't want to wake my baby as well.
Tests today also showed that when I put it in Silent/Vibrate mode it doesn't vibrate when receiving calls either.However when I select Silent/Vibrate mode it does the little vibrate feedback so its not like the vibrate feature doesn't work at all.
I factory reset the phone after i used odin to flash factory rom. Installed latest ATT update. Setup google account and again put the phone on wireless charger, after 10 mins of no activity send myself emails from different accounts from the PC and No email notifications at all with just Mobile Network only turned on. I tested this with wired charging and the result is the same.
Test condition:
1. Charge phone, wired or wireless, only turn on Mobile network, no wifi!!!
2. Leave the phone untouched and idle for 10+ mins
3. during this time no txt or phone calls otherwise it will reset the sleep flag
4. after 10+ mins of no activity send yourself emails from a desktop or another phone. You should in theory get notifications but I'm willing to be you will not.
I don't know if I'm the only one but for some reason my s6 is lagging like crazy when scrolling down emoji it's not smooth at all and I don't remember how it was when I got it but I know that it stays the same no matter what rom or kernel. Otherwise the phone is very smooth and fast especially on custom kernels and Roms even the benchmark shows nothing unusual.
