View 2 RepliesI got this phone as a gift, an SM-G920F. And it already has SuperSU in it when I got it. Which means it's already rooted if I'm not mistaken. I'm liking the phone and hoping to know more about it.
Anyway I discovered that you can only change the media volume with the rockers when a video or music is playing. And it defaults to ringtone otherwise. Same thing happens when the media pauses in the middle of playback. But I never change my ringtone volume. It's either on, off, or vibrate.
So I browsed the web for fixes. And found this app called Rocker Locker. I tried it but it was a huge battery drain, so it wasn't a permanent fix. I also found out that this behavior was changed in Marshmallow. Having the rockers change media volume by default.
Tried to check for OTA updates. But it said something about phone being modified. Which was lucky, because I've also read not to take OTA updates while rooted.
Long story short. How do I update from Lollipop to Marshmallow in a rooted phone?
I want to downgrade is I am getting bad battery life draining 5% in 15 min. My phone is a G900A s5. How to downgrade to Kitkat 4.4.4
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G901F (Unlocked) and yesterday I updated the OS to Lolipop using Odin.
Since that update I have signal issues (No service most of the time) and I want to downgrade it do KitKat then update it with the official version of Lolipop using Kies. Am I going to be able to do this?
I recently upgraded to marshmallow and so far it's not going well. Mainly with access to my SD card and external HD. With lollipop I usually use ES File Explorer, no problems transferring media to and from SD card or external. With mm it doesn't allow 3rd party app to access any storage and forces you to use OS. How to go back to lollipop?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my 6p yesterday and used skipsofts nrk to unlock and root the 6p. All fine and i am still getting the beginning splash screen saying device corrupt. I was reading in the purenexus rom thread and it said to flash the mdb08m vendor img. When I rooted I was and still am on Mdb08l. Am I able to flash that vendor img on the L or do I need to go up to M? Also is there a link or something on how to flash a vendor img and also where I would find it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to make a backup of bootloader? If it is, how? I am not talking about kernel (boot.img is the kernel, correct?), system, recovery, or data. Bootloader. My Nexus 5 came with bootloader version hhz11n. The factory image from Google (4.4.4) has bootloader version hhz11k.
How different these two are, but since hhz11n image can't be found anywhere, I want to back it up before flashing to Lollipop or Marshmallow.
My Nexus is still running 4.4.4, bootloader unlocked, rooted, with TWRP installed.
I'm on 5.1.1 stock with Xposed and ElementalX. Should I completely wipe my phone when going to Marshmallow tomorrow?

When I try my phone doesn't even see my radio. My old Galaxy S5 used to play just fine on the radio with the Lollipop update... It does see and pair to other devices, like my Tone Pro headset.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnd apparently RIM is aware of this bad Bluetooth stack? This is what BlueAnt tech support is telling me and that it's BlackBerry's problem. I have a Tour running 5.0 and have never had an issue with any Bluetooth headset except the BlueAnt Z9i. My BlueAnt Z9i does seem to work fine on 4.7, but I'll chuck the Z9i in the can before I stick w/4.7 for any longer than testing purposes! BlueAnt said I should contact RIM for details on a solution; however, I see no reasonable means to directly contact RIM tech support? And since this is RIM's official support forums, unless I'm mistaken? Does anyone know anything about this faulty Bluetooth in 5.0 on the Tour and Storm 2 that causes random issues with Bluetooth headsets? Random issues are: Random beeps, buttons on headset being unresponsive, sound and mic not working, and hang-ups. These are all completely random issues the button unresponsiveness can be fixed by disconnecting the Bluetooth headset from the BlackBerry device via the BlackBerry device. And then the headset buttons will work again, enabling the headset to be powered down, etc This is of course a fix until it randomly happens again the next time it's paired to the Tour running 5.0!"As you know this is a specific issue with Blackberry tour (9630) and storm 2 phones using 5.0 OS, no updating of BlueAnt products will help as it's a fault with the phone." BlueAnt said "I believe It occurs on almost all Bluetooth devices within anything from one weeks to two months of pairing with a Blackberry tour using 5.0." BlueAnt said "Just to re-cap: the issues with the tour happen with all BlueAnt products: Q1, V1, Z9i etc And I've heard from consumers that called in it also occurs on Jabra's and Jawbones etc.We know that Blackberry know about the issue so if you contact them they should shed some light on it." BlueAnt said If you may be able to shed some light on this and need more background info, please read this thread here.
View 4 Replies View RelatedGot the N5 in 2012 with 4.4.4 on loved it, no problems then. Then lollipop came along causing battery drain and random crashes. Waited for 5.1 hoping for fixes, installed it battery life improved but still crashed randomly. I put it down to the memory leak problem. I decided to downgrade. I downgraded back to kitkat 4.4.4 after unlocking the boot loader. Now I have random crashes running Kit Kat.
PS If I carry my USB battery pack around and keep phone plugged into it the phone never crashes. Its just not a very mobile phone then!!
I just flashed the OTA update for Android 6.0 last week on my Nexus 5 and I noticed that with the new update, phone calls no longer get routed through Bluetooth on my Mazda3. It is able to pair fine with the car and can stream music through Bluetooth, but calls do not go through.
Here is what happens: When I place a call, the audio automatically gets routed back to the phone. If the other person picks up, calls will continue going through the phone speaker unless I manually select route through Bluetooth. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't, but it does get frustrating trying this workaround especially while driving.
I tried unpairing and re-pairing bluetooth with the car, cleared the data and cache of the Bluetooth app on the phone, and even tried a factory reset, but the problem still persists. For the record, when I did this with Lollipop 5.1.1, it worked without a hitch.
I am on 5.0.1 and my Knox isn't tripped. Rooted it with Ping Pong a while back, but want root, marshmallow, and non tripped Knox . If I unroot and update, can I use the SuperSU beta to systemless root without tripping kies?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to test BETA Marshamllow on mine S6 but when flashing everyting and then flash Marshmallow Bootloader i stuck on Powered by Android and keeps rebooting.
The steps are:
1. Copy the file named "G920F_3ZPA1_M(6.0.1)_Flashable.zip" to the device SD card.
2. Flash TWRP and Bootloader (5.1.1).tar in ODIN
3. Boot to recovery
4. Flash the (6.0.1) Flashable ZIP in recovery
5. Flash Bootloader (6.0.2) in ODIN
Since "upgrading" to lollipop on my Verizon G3, using Google Play Music, I'm getting a really annoying stutter when Bluetooth streaming. Random stutters, freezes, drops. VERY intermittent. Didn't do this prior to lollipop. Strangely though, metadata is showing all the time now, which is an improvement.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThink of buying a used Droid Eris in top condition, so that I can use a well known Verizon MVNO.
Of course I'm not trying to compare the Eris with an iPhone in terms of syncing up with a Mac .... but as far as a touch screen device, typing / touching accuracy, user interface experience .....
How does the Eris with 2.1 / 2.2 compare to the iPhone 3Gs? Since I'm going to be paying for a non-Contract phone -- the Eris is the only one I am considering.
I have Galaxy 6s (920F) with android 5.1.1, i want to downgrade to 5.0.2, i can't find this firmware in google,
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to 5.1.1 on Telus and now I am having the network connectivity issues that have been reported on other threads. Specifically, when I am on WiFi and have LTE enabled, all phone calls go directly to voicemail when someone tried to call. If I turn of LTE it seems to work fine.
I am assuming it's an issue with LTE and 5.1.1 so any way to downgrade to 5.0.2
Updated to marshmallow couple days ago, not satisfies with the results im wondering if its possible to downgrade to lollipop?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIts my first time on galaxy s6 here. for months i had the 5.0.2 firmware original, nothing changed, perfect. it was really fastest. But when it comes out the 5.1.1 update, problems started. really bad battery life (i never had this problem), more lags un the transition animations, i can confirm this because for four moths i never had lag where now there are prominently. So now I decide to come back to a rom/firmware with the 5.0.2 (0 problems in that firmware).
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow I can do this? I'm sick to death of the mobile active radio bug and I know KitKat doesn't have this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI prefer to hide my wireless SSID but when I do this my android devices don't see the network. Even if I am already connected with my Xoom then switch to hidden SSID mode the Xoom disconnects. Same for my HTC Thunderbolt. My network is shown in the list of remembered networks as out of range. When in hidden mode. This does not affect my laptops.
They stay connected if I switch to hidden mode and they have a setting to connect to hidden networks that have previously been configured. I cannot find a setting for hidden network support on either android device. Hiding the SSID is not a new concept. Is this not supported in the android network stack? I have a strong random PW on my wifi so I am not terribly worried about it but I would be nice to have the option.
I have a G920F with latest firmware COI6 (Poland). Is it possible to downgrade from COI6 to COH2?Flashing thw firmware via Odin always fails.I tried with Skipsoft Unified Toollit but i'm not sure if i did it right.Started to flash but failed and softbricked my phone. The only reason that i want to downgrade is to root without tripping knox.I can't find a guide to delete hidden.img from tar file.Maybe i have to rename it but i'm not sure...
