View 5 RepliesI have the Galaxy S6 and my wifi keeps turning itself on. I have the "always scanning" option off, as well as connections optimizer turned off. Yet, WiFi keeps turning itself on.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had this phone since May and kept it in perfect condition but It all started Thursday, i got home and noticed my phone switching on and off wifi, not updating apps, no fb messager notifications, getting hot and losing alot of battery life, and not searching for update.
I have T mobile and people say just turn off smart Wifi switch and i did but my phones slow with those problems while on Wifi still even with a 100+MB connection.
When Wifi is off though it works perfectly...
When i try to turn on my wifi button, sometimes nothing happens, the other times it quickly turns on then off. This means i am not even able to scan for networks. Also makes the whole phone lag.Sometimes if just says "turning on...." but nothing happens
When screen rotation is turned on on the wifi page, the screen rotates 90 degrees but leaves the left side of the screen black, then after 3 seconds properly rotates. The only way to back out of the wifi page, is to continually press the home button, the back button doesnt work. When not on the wifi page the phone doesnt lag anymore.
My phone keeps turning WiFi on and connecting when I turned it off. Is there a setting I'm missing to make it honor my choice?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI turn the WiFi off in the notification panel, but it keeps turning on and connecting to a WiFi signal I don't want it to. Even if I tell it to forget that network, it pops up again and connects to it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden, my wifi keeps switching between off and on every... 5-10 seconds. No recent downloads/changes, running KK 4.4.2 ....
View 5 Replies View RelatedI got my Nexus 5 on the 2nd of this month. I'm on Android 4.4.4. Just today, I was out and about and I realized that, although I was going into settings and turning Wi-Fi off, it just kept turning it right back on! (I had been using the Wi-Fi at the mall, then later I went to a friend's house and connected to my friend's Wi-Fi, which did not work.) So, I turned on my data, only for it to turn off after I guess about 30 seconds. I turned it back on, went on WhatsApp, in the middle of replying to a text from my friend it goes off yet again! What the... So, I went into settings and turned data on, and Wi-Fi off. As I watched, the Wi-Fi switched itself back on, and, predictably, even though there were no wireless networks to connect to, my data turned off as well.
This is really inconvenient. What could be causing the problem? I don't think I've downloaded any apps recently, but they do sometimes update. It was working fine on Thursday, but I've had my data off since then. I also booted into Safe Mode, and the problem doesn't seem to persist.
My wireless connections(wifi, bluetooth, wifi hot spot) are not working , when i try to turn any of them on nothing happens and its not turned on

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having battery issues, it does not last for a whole day. I was told to make a few adjustment to my bb setup one of them was to turn off Wifi when I am not using it. Now I am not sure what I have done but every time I switch off wifi the phone switches off within a 1min. I cannot turn the phone back on unless I do a battery pull and connect the phone to charge. I have a BB Bold 9900 unbrand and unlocked, OS 7.1.0.342, currently using a T-mobile sim in it.

I already tried many things available online like, cache clear , factory resetting, safe mode etc. But nothing worked. It starts happening after latest update from android
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use my wifi 24/7 then one day the radio just turn off and will not turn back on. When i select wifi under manage connections; the red 'x' remains and 'turn all connections off' greyed out. If i try turning on the wifi radio from setup wifi network i get a message saying 'Unable to to turn wifi on'. This is frustrating as my carrier data service is extremely slow.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy stepdaughter has a 5C and is constantly turning off her wifi. She says it goes off by itself, but i think she does it in case she doesn't have access to wifi and then accesses data which is driving up our phone bill like crazy. I would shut off her data but her dad is her dad and he doesn't want me to (just don't want to deal with the problems associated with that). I know that if she is in a place where she has no access to wifi, she would automatically go onto data, but i think she actually turns off her wifi too, so that she can access data. I constantly tell her she needs to leave it on, so does her dad. Is there a way to prevent someone from turning off the wifi button?

I'm on a 32gb Google Play purchased white Nexus 5, activated on Sprint. I went through a whole charge cycle yesterday with Wi-Fi off, and under battery usage / Wi-Fi / Use Details / Wi-Fi running, it showed "Wi-Fi running" 17 hours. I never even had Wi-Fi turned on once.
I've been playing with it today, turning Wi-Fi on and off, and no matter what, the Wi-Fi usage time matches my phone on time. It seems according to the battery meter my Wi-Fi is always on.
I'm curious about one thing, have problems with Wifi and Bluetooth? For example, my Wifi and Bluetooth are not turning on at all and this happened after update, but i think, maybe my antenna is dead or maybe, there's a problem with chipset. How do I know if it's an update or it's my phone....

My WiFi settings are checked for WiFi to never sleep; however, when my screen is off and the phone is on Standby, after a short while the WiFi disconnects. When the screen is turned on, the WiFi again connects. I assumed that the Advanced WiFi setting of "Never Sleep" would prevent this allowing me to remain connected on Skype etc. while on Standby. Does this indicate a problem with the phone or am I missing something?I have done a factory reset but the problem still persists.
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy WIFI keeps turning itself off at random times. It's very annoying since I depend on using wifi to get better battery life in situations where I don't get a good signal.
I've noticed this only on the 2.3.4 update. I'm getting a replacement X2 from Verizon on tuesday so hopefully this and the random reboots are fixed in that phone...not holding my breath though...
Iphone 4s WiFi wont turn on. Can not click to switch to turn out. Resetted network settings n updted to ios8. still problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedTwo days ago, all of a sudden (The phone often forgets wifi networks, I was using the Wifi password recovery & backup app, but that can't be the problem, I use it all the time), but all of a sudden, after a reboot, my wifi is turned off. I already found that to be strange, but then it became even stranger: when I tried to turn it on, it kept on 'turning it on' but never actually turned it on! (the switch is still dark gray in the 'on' fase). I tried to figure out why it was doing this, the last apps I installed were Tasker, Autovoice and secure settings, so I uninstalled them, no difference. I tried disabeling my xposed framework, no difference.
I tried wiping Cache and Dalvik cache, no difference. I accedently (swipe to wipe is dangerous!) completely wiped my phone, but still no difference. Then, using the Nexus Root Toolkit, I reverted back to stock and unrooted. Then finally, my wifi came back on . So I slowly installed everything again (stupid me had no backup) and the wifi kept working for a day.... And till now it's been off, not willing to turn on . It must be some app I installed I guess. I also tried to change kernels but again with no succes... Oh and my mac-adress is also nowhere to be found, is that normal when the wifi is turned off?
My green led flashes when I turn on the wifi. When I turn the wifi off the light goes off. But I want the light off when my wifi is on. Is this possible?
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy x10i keeps dropping its wifi connection. it is in an "excellent" signal strength area. i can now see that is related to my poor mobile network coverage at home. when the mobile network signal drops, then the wifi turns off and the turns on again, scans and reconnects. when the mobile network connects again (after a minute or two) the wifi turns off, then on again, scans and reconnects. this cycling is happening every minute or two. which leads to lots of frustrating network errors. exact issue described below with Internet clip: [url]. things improve if i turn off 3g and set network to gsm only.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy WiFi is intermittently disconnecting when my device is asleep. I wake it up and the WiFi is often 'disconnected', but connects automatically once it's awake.
When I wake my phone, there's no WiFi connection and there's a little '?' next to the mobile signal icon - but when I wake it up, the WiFi connects and the '?' on the mobile signal disappeared.
'Keep WiFi on during the sleep' is toggled to 'always', so I really can't understand why it's doing this.
I've had Lollipop for about a month now, but it's only started happening today. I've 'forgot' the network, restarted the device and reconnected, but it's still dropping out when my phone's asleep.
