View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my Nexus 5 on the 2nd of this month. I'm on Android 4.4.4. Just today, I was out and about and I realized that, although I was going into settings and turning Wi-Fi off, it just kept turning it right back on! (I had been using the Wi-Fi at the mall, then later I went to a friend's house and connected to my friend's Wi-Fi, which did not work.) So, I turned on my data, only for it to turn off after I guess about 30 seconds. I turned it back on, went on WhatsApp, in the middle of replying to a text from my friend it goes off yet again! What the... So, I went into settings and turned data on, and Wi-Fi off. As I watched, the Wi-Fi switched itself back on, and, predictably, even though there were no wireless networks to connect to, my data turned off as well.
This is really inconvenient. What could be causing the problem? I don't think I've downloaded any apps recently, but they do sometimes update. It was working fine on Thursday, but I've had my data off since then. I also booted into Safe Mode, and the problem doesn't seem to persist.
i cant click on the wi-fi it wont open just says no wi-fi

I would like to conserve my data allotment by using wifi whenever I can.Â
Also, would be great to be able to talk or text over wifi rather than using up my minutes.Â
Is there a way I can set up my iPhone 4s to automatically switch when it detects a strong wifi signal?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a iPhone6 with iOS8.1.1. If I walk out of a wifi environment while using the phone, I will lose data connection even though it connects to the local 3G/LTE networks. I can still receive calls/sms but no data. It will continue to stay this way unless I put it in airplane mode and out again to reestablish connections. I have done a Network Reset but problem still persist. Why is it not a seamless transfer between wifi/LTE networks?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy stepdaughter has a 5C and is constantly turning off her wifi. She says it goes off by itself, but i think she does it in case she doesn't have access to wifi and then accesses data which is driving up our phone bill like crazy. I would shut off her data but her dad is her dad and he doesn't want me to (just don't want to deal with the problems associated with that). I know that if she is in a place where she has no access to wifi, she would automatically go onto data, but i think she actually turns off her wifi too, so that she can access data. I constantly tell her she needs to leave it on, so does her dad. Is there a way to prevent someone from turning off the wifi button?

Hi Experts,
In my home, there is several wifi router and wifi homepulp.
When I going from one area to another area of my home.
The first wifi signal is become weak, but there is existing another wifi signal is stronger than first place.
In this case, my iPhone is keep using previous wifi signal.
So, is there a way that automatically switching from weak wifi signal to the stronger one?
Thank you

I set up my Yahoo mail account on the native mail app on my iPhone 5 using my home wi-fi network. Everything works well. But when i switch wi-fi networks, it can't retrieve my emails. This happened when I'm on my office's network. I do not use cellular data (3G nor LTE). I'm strictly a wi-fi person, either at home, in the office or some coffee shop, restaurant or mall.Â
I forgot the error message, it said "can't connect to server".

After working properly for two weeks, my VM-605 is acting weird. Every call begins with "the voice" saying CALL ENDED, and then it proceeds to accept or place the call. Ending a call produces a simple beep. It no longer answers calls with a click of the panel, or re-dials with a double click. What's wrong?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Moto X would automatically switch over to WIFI from 4Glte when a known connection was closeby (ie when Im at home). Ive only had this G3 a few days.
Is there a setting I can adjust to auto-switch & disable data? For now, i have to go into my notification bar and click over and then confirm even...and of course sometimes I forget to do that and I incure data charges when my 5ghz N signal is standing idly by.
Sine Tuesday night when my battery died, the Wifi on my device doesnt work (I left the app world open which ran it down). Whenever I switch the wifi on, it says that it is unable to turn the wifi on. I left the battery out for half an hour on THursday night which seems to have worked for a while, but the problem has manifested itself again. I have done a security wipe and re-installed the latest software.I somehow dont think that it's hardware related otherwise it wouldnt work, would it? My blackberry maps also dont work and it says that the GPS is unavailable. Can it have something to do with the Wifi?We have 3G where I live most of the time, but the Wifi is just so much faster using my broadband connection at home. I contacted bb support and have not received any assistance. My carrier seems to think that it's hardware related, but I dont think so.

I have an iPhone 4s (Verizon). I had recently purchased what was described as an OEM screen plus LCD after I had cracked my factory screen. After replacing the screen and LCD such features as the side volume controls, vibrate switch, and proximity switch (dimming after accepting a call) have stopped working. I double checked to see that all of the connectors were pushed on correctly and they were. Is it possible this may not be an OEM screen and causing the problem or is there a piece of the hardware that I may have damaged that controls all of these functions (i.e. motherboard)?

For some reason my WiFi has been turning on by itself. Also after updating my hangouts app, there is a minor bug. Every time I press the home button, the keyboard still shows up.

I have T mobile and people say just turn off smart Wifi switch and i did but my phones slow with those problems while on Wifi still even with a 100+MB connection.
When Wifi is off though it works perfectly...
When i try to turn on my wifi button, sometimes nothing happens, the other times it quickly turns on then off. This means i am not even able to scan for networks. Also makes the whole phone lag.Sometimes if just says "turning on...." but nothing happens
When screen rotation is turned on on the wifi page, the screen rotates 90 degrees but leaves the left side of the screen black, then after 3 seconds properly rotates. The only way to back out of the wifi page, is to continually press the home button, the back button doesnt work. When not on the wifi page the phone doesnt lag anymore.
The wifi in my Xperia Pro keeps turning ON by itself although I do not turn it on. It won't turn off even if i try to turn it off.
