I recently dropped my galaxy s6 in the trash and it got wet I put in rice and it was working fine except three of the buttons don't work and I found an alternative for that. No problem but when I get on an app my phone just jumps to my Google app.
View 1 RepliesWhen I'm connected via Bluetooth and skip a song with the steering wheel controls it wakes the screen which causes increased battery drain. On Pandora the screen stays off to conserve battery. To me it doesn't make sense for the screen to come on when switching songs. As stated it increases battery consumption and you shouldn't be looking at your phone when driving anyway. I don't know if the same can be said with Bluetooth headphones as I don't have any to test with. People switch songs until they find one they like. If they like a song and don't know the artist then they could wake the screen to see the information at that point. To me this is a HUGE negative as phone manufacturers are making phones thinner and thinner thus reducing battery size. Not to mention upon switching songs it increases the chance of accidentally skipping another song since the controls come on the wake screen. I've tested this on wired headphones with controls and the screen doesn't wake so it only seems to be a Bluetooth issue.

I finally got it to close, but then the phone started rapidly and constantly cycling through apps and screens, even moving apps and widget around. It's like an invisible person is constantly touching and dragging their fingers across the screen. Holding down the power button for 5 seconds got it shut down, but when restarted, it resumed it's app cycling. I could have gotten some sweat (from my run) on the volume buttons or down in the headset jack, so I stuck it in a bag of rice to cover that possibility. A factory reset is an option I can explore later tonight if no other suggestions are made.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEver since the update late last year that "fixed" the skipping Bluetooth issue I have had problems. Before this "fix" music or podcasts playing via Bluetooth would skip for a fraction of a second periodically. After the "fix" this no longer happens.
My car has Ford Sync (2009). Since the "fix" most of the time I get in the car the phone will not connect with Sync at all. This happens even if I try to force a sync using the phone or Sync. After playing with this issue over several days I realized if it does not connect right away I needed to reboot the phone for Bluetooth to connect to Sync.
I am also experiencing a stuttering with Doggcatcher and several music applications. This stuttering generally is when the player starts but occasionally it stops playing for up to 10 or 20 seconds then starts again (even when playing files on the internal memory). I do not have this problem when using the headset or the phone's speaker.
I know this is an issue with the GS5 and I have researched a bit on the internet. The problem is that anywhere from every 20 seconds to once a minute, audio skips using Bluetooth. It doesn't matter if I am using the stock player, Pandora, Google or Amazon, etc.
The only consistent solution I have found from others is to leave the display on as the problem only occurs when the display "sleeps". This does indeed work for me as well, but I think it is ridiculous to have to leave your display on to listen to skip free music.
Another possible solution I saw was to 'overclock' your CPU while sleeping, however I am not a rooter so I don't know if this works.
Any app to keep the screen lit (longest setting is 10 minutes from Samsung)?
S6 Edge or regular S6 experienced the infamous Bluetooth skipping issue? Both my wife's new S6 Edge and mine are doing it. Both have latest Verizon update, I have cleared cache partition, cleared Bluetooth partition, tried the keeping screen on trick to no avail. Having your music Skip no matter which music app I use, natter the coverage area as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S6, I've had it for about 3 months. It was randomly restarting itself last month but has since stopped that. But 2 days ago I got a whatsapp message and the notification light was flashing but I couldn't get my phone to respond and the screen stayed black. I rebooted it but it did it again the next time I received a message. It is still doing it every time I get a message (whatsapp or text) if the screen is off. It only responds if I reboot. I've cleared the cache partition and it hasn't made a difference. A few times when I've rebooted it it has shut down again as soon as it comes on and does it a couple of times before staying on. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be doing this! I don't want to do a factory reset.

It can be sorted by closing the app, however sometimes the phone totally freezes so I have to manually reset it or it will reset itself. I have tried factory resets which have been to no gain and have even had the same error messages after a factory reset and there's nothing on the phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my S5 for about a month or two now and have been having a problem with the screen waking in my pocket. I'm guessing the home or power button is being pressed which is fine but I need the screen to turn back off in a reasonable amount of time. There is a setting called "Screen timeout" but no "Lock screen timeout" like I used to have on my S3. Maybe I'm missing something but it seems like both the screen timeout and the lock screen timeout are both controlled by this one setting. Just about every 20 minutes I feel my pocket getting hot and sure enough, the screen has been on for who knows how long.
