View 10 RepliesThe capacitive buttons are garbage in my opinion and I constantly accidentally hit them. Not to mention they are backwards. I would like to disable them completely and enable the soft buttons like on the Nexus 5. Is this possible?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am unable to remap my Direct Connect button to an app or something like the calendar. When I go into menu>settings>applications>quick launch, I have no option to remap the side button, all I see are shortcuts for the letters a-z.
View 12 Replies View RelatedAfter the upgrade to lollipop 5.11, my "back" and "recent/menu" buttons do not work. The do not light, nor do they do anything. I've tried the recommended display and power setting fixes, but they do not fix my phone. I've also done a factory reset, but the problem is still there, even in safe mode. Several apps I use a lot are now totally unusable because they don't have their own back and menu keys. Is there any answer outside of downgrading to 5.0?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, my capacitive buttons next to the home button aren't lighting up. Did Samsung do away with this? Since I'm used to the way they work, I know where to push the button to go back or to open recently opened apps but I'd like to have them lit if I could.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought new lcd..because my old one cracked. The process of change run smooth.. But when i turn on phone my capacitive buttons doesn't react. The lighs turn on when phone Boots and shutdown.
So my questions are:
-can be lcd defective?
-only thing that communicate is lcd flat cable connect to mainboard?
-buttons zone are controlled by digitizer right? Or are related with power board where buttons are?
I don't know if I post this in the right section. I just wanted to let others know that I've found a way to disable the light from capacitive buttons even if the phone is not in Power Saving Mode, and ofc without any third party software. You dial *#0*# and you go to the bottom and press "Black". Now, if you hold the power button you can chose to restart the phone and the backlight will stay off. If you press volume up key after you pressed "Black" it will just exit.At first I was thinking I broke my phone. Then I realise how it works.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy volume down button sticks out slightly further and is more "clicky" than the volume up button. Volume up is seated closer to the phone and doesn't click quite as much. It's noticeable when any light hits the side of the phone as the volume down button picks up reflections easier since it's sticking out more.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Verizon variant of the Galaxy S6
A few different times now the capacitive buttons stopped working. They don't light up, they don't work, and there is no haptic feedback from them. It always happens after a restart, but not the first restart.
I have tried factory reset and that didn't work. I had to flash my phone using Verizon's repair assistant to fix the problem.
The second time it happened I thought it was due to installing that Galaxy Lights app everyone is talking about. I booted into safe mode, uninstalled the app and restarted. Once I did it worked for a few more days before it happened again.
A few minutes ago it happened again. This time I haven't installed that app or any other apps that would affect the buttons. I am rooted with Ping Pong but I haven't done anything other than remove a few bloatware items and use Titanium Backup.
I love this phone but I hate the home physical button from Samsung .
Do you know any app that allows to have on screen buttons like on other Android devices?
The soft key buttons at the bottom of my Galaxy S6 no longer light up or work for that matter. So not happy as I have only had this phone since June 2015.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi know the back button and menu buttom supposed to be white and i checked with 2 friends of mine that also got the s6 and its white in their phones. also the home button is kinda moving but not so much... when i checked with my friends phone it wasn't moving. you think i should use my warranty for such a stupid thing? also the device is original and not fake. the screen sometimes (it didn't happen me in 5 days and today it happend again) the touchscreen stop responding to my finger for about a second. lets say i want to click an app so when i first clicked it it didn't work but when i tap again it worked. i think this is normal because sometimes you dont press very well.. any way. orange back and menu buttons and tell me if you got it to(inside a house, outdoor its white because of the sun) and the home key that is kinda moving (not so much but a little bit more than my friends does)
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy previous phone (HTC One) was able to control applications like Spotify with the volume buttons on the side of the phone even when the phone was locked. I can't for the life of me figure out a way to convince this device to do anything other than volume control with the volume rocker. I'd just like to use the volume control with short clicks, but if I do a long press it doesn't something else (this may have been a feature of Cyanogen that I was using previously?).
I'd like to use a Long hold on up and down to Next Track / Previous Track for Spotify. Right now if I do this, instead it just blows out my ear drums by maxing the volume quickly. Are there apps that allow me to customize what the volume rocker does in specific states?
Also, does this phone not intelligently recognize the difference between headphones being plugged in vs plugging it into an Auxillary jack? That was something else that worked well on my One as well.
A few days ago my phone just suddenly started pressing buttons on its own and ignoring my button presses. Turning off the screen and turning it back on again fixes it temporarily, but within just a few seconds it will often continue again.
Is this a virus? Or is my phone broken? Nothing happened to cause it to break.
I just bought from ebay an Samsung Galaxy S5 phone Neverlocked and I found a issue.
I'm not sure if was before upgrade Android to 5.0 but now the Speaker/Volume Buttons don't have any effect.
Headphones works perfectly.
I have a T-Mobile galaxy S II. not rooted or anything fancy. About a month ago I noticed that the four bottom buttons Search, back, home and menu. I tried turning it off and back on, taking the battery out and all that. However randomly they turned back on. They worked for a few days then did it again. It has been doing it on and off all month. A few times I was able to get them to come back on by shutting it off and plugging it in and turning it back on. Now that's not working at all. Iv done a factory reset still not able to get them back on. Now I can see that when I turn off the phone it goes to the t-mobile good bye screen then the lights blink for a sec then shut off. I've tried to do the *#1234# thing and it says its running the ussd scan but then says the process can not be processed.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI managed to disable the back button by going to /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl and adding # in front of key 139 menu and key 158 back but the recents button still works after rebooting. This was the old method when the left button was a menu not recent apps button. Which button number is for recents?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the Galaxy S6 which of course is running Lollipop. One of the features I used all the time on my iPhone was the ability to skip forward/back while listening to music (e.g. Pandora, Rhapsody, Music Player, etc.). I'm afraid to ask but am I to understand this functionality does NOT work on this phone/OS??? If so, how can I get around this? I do not want to root the phone nor do I want to be forced to use apps that require me to play music stored on the phone. I have subscriptions to Pandora and Rhapsody for a reason.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk the soft keys down by the home button on the bottom....mine do not light anymore. I have them set to the 1.5 second time out. Even when I put them on "always on"they don't light up.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been having a few problems with my phone lately. Sometimes when I start the unit up in the morning no icons appear on my home screen although when I go into my apps they are all there. I would have to restart the phone a couple of times before everything would appear. Now I seem to have a permanent problem the touch sensitive buttons on the bottom of my phone for getting to the settings and the 'back' button do not light any more, but they do function.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust completed the ICS upgrade, but so far struggling to see much improvement so far (except for the ability to bulk select emails to delete them) and I don't have these virtual buttons that are referred to as part of the changes. I've looked around but can't see any settings to turn them on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and the default (stock) video player app is giving me some problems. A few days ago the video player stopped displaying the mini controller (play/pause, rewind, forward) at the bottom of the screen and I can no longer swipe to control volume or brightness like I used to. It does this for all types of videos, whether they are my own or ones streaming from the internet. How can I get this feature back? I'm not sure what I did to make it go away!
View 2 Replies View RelatedAttached image shows that when I make a call or receive it, my screen does not show dialer buttons, mute button, or the additional caller/conference button. I have looked at all different settings that I could think of but can't seem to fix this. I have tried this using headset as well as speaker phone.
I was able to bring up dialer button (only) if I go to home screen during the call and open up phone again. This time I can use the dialer buttons but still no mute or conf buttons.
