View 24 RepliesI am been using Android for long time. The last Samsung mobile I used is S4 and I was using HTC M8 (Sense converted to GPe) before S6. I have my GPS is set to High because I used to use Maps for navigation a lot. But in S6, the notification panel keeps showing "Searching GPS location.." very often where I am not even using the Navigation. Is there something wrong.

I recently switched from the HTC one M8 to the Samsung S6 edge and have not looked back since. Samsung really does make terrific phones. One thing I was curious about, that I noticed recently, was that when I plug headphones into the phone, the little headphone icon appears in the top left corner and says that headphones are now connected and then the icon and message disappear. Coming from the HTC one M8 I am used to the headphone icon remaining there the whole time my headphones are plugged in and was wondering if this is normal for it to prompt me that the headphones are connected and then disappear?
Also, on a, possibly related, side note, having weird issues with the spotify app just crashing or pausing for no reason? I was thinking that it was either due to notifications I was getting, a bad headphone jack, or maybe the app is just bugging out.
My phone was working fine one minute, but the next thing I know it turns off, the led starts blinking blue and the screen refuses to turn on. If I hold the volume button and the power button, the phone vibrates and the led stops blinking indicating that the phone powered off. I can then power it back on and it vibrates and the led starts blinking again indicating it is powered on, but the screen remains completely black and does not show any boot up animations or respond to any touches. As you can probably guess, with an unresponsive display I can't boot into recovery mode or anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow would I remove this but I just think it's massive and I kind of like going in there and seeing a load of Chrome tabs I'd forgotten I'd opened and apps I haven't used in days. Is there any way to remove it on a rooted phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat is the quickest way to force close an app? I use Groove music and I have to force close it from time to time. I used to be able to swipe down hold down Groove in notification window and click the i and then I have that option.
That doesn't work in the s6 it takes me to notification options.
It's aggravating having to go to settings then applications then find the app and so on and so on.
Is there an easier/quicker way?
I have noticed that after I shut down and reboot my phone, even after choosing the wipe cache option prior to restarting, that my previously open apps are still showing in the recent apps screen. Shouldn't they have been cleared after shutting the phone off? I don't know if this started after Lollipop or before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMost applications don't seem to have an exit option and the only way I know to close them is the via the "Back" button at bottom right.
In the native Web Browser this button doesn't close the browser but just goes back to the last web page; and then the next last, etc until it runs out of previous pages and then closes.
It's an awful way of closing the browser, going back though all previous pages; and often there are warnings that you may be re-posting data again.
If I press the left menu button I can get to "Windows" and if there are more than one there is a "minus" sign top right allowing it to be closed. But when there is only one window there is no minus sign.
So if I've been doing some interaction with my bank and want to close the single main window I have to select "Menu", "Windows", create a "New window", select the new window, go back to the "Menu" choose "Windows" again, find the minus sign on the original window press to close it, then go back to the new window and press "Back" to close that one.
The video is extremely blurry and appears out of focus when I send it via a text after the automatic resize it does. Is there a setting to adjust this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 (sm-g900f). Sometimes the screen just freeze, and grey lines appears (as in this picture goo.gl/qIdGg7 ).
The main button and the power still working, as I can see the white light turning on and off as usual after pressing them.
And after click the power button once (which turn off the display), the screen remains black.
The phone is actually still working, as I can ear it ringing or receiving messages and email.
But I cant do anything, just take off the battery and restart it. I already reset it and the problem keeps happen again.
Is there a way to create a home screen shortcut for the "Close All" I'm not here to debate RAM management and how android handles it, I'm well aware of that, I just want to know if there is a way to create a shortcut for it. I'm also not interested in third party apps.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the stock internet that the galaxy 6 came loaded with. I am not using chrome. When I click on a link and that tries to open a new tab, I get an error message that states I have reached my 50 tab maximum. At the bottom of the screen where most users have a "Back" "Forward" "Home" "Bookmark" "Tab" icons, I do NOT have a "tab" icon. How to close tabs without this icon present. all forums answers say to use this icon and I don't see it on my screen.
View 8 Replies View Relatedhow to close the Internet browser on the S2. After viewing several pages via links I don't know how to exit the browser. If I just exit the app by pressing the Home button it means that the next time I tap the Internet button it takes me immediately to the last page I was viewing. Surely that's wrong and there must be some way of closing the browser properly.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am bothered with the facebook app not following lollipop's open/close animations.
All apps close and open with the same animations, except facebook which just pops out of nowhere. I also got this issue with my gpe m8. Is there any reason for this?
On the most recent version of the google app i'm getting force closes when I do a "navigate" command for example "navigate home" if I uninstall updates this no longer happens. This command is working fine on my other devices.
Stock Rooted, Canadian S6 (non edge).... Flashed to stock and rerooted. Everything seems fine now.
I get a constant loop of error messages that tell me I need to Force Close. However I am unable to access any of the menus as the loop is continuous (as loops tend to be for any pedants out there!).

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy SII appears to have some kind of virus - I am getting a continuous loop of Force Close messages. Kies will not connect to the phone, it is running to the most up to date version. My phone is currently on Android Version 2.3.3 and on Gingerbread.because it cannot connect to Kies, I cannot run a back up. All my photos and videos are on the phone. I have a 3 month old baby and am desperate to save these. As I cannot back up I am reluctant to perform a factory reset as I am conscious I will lose all the data stored. It randomly turns itself on and off. The error messages come thick and fast - I don't even need to 'force Close' they pop up on their own and a constant stream of them will occur. Examples of the error messages are as follows:
Sorry! Twlauncher (process com.sec.android.app.twlauncher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close.
Sorry! The application Email (process com.sec.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close.
I am trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy S2 to my computer and keep getting that message.
I go to the task manager and there are no applications running.
my battery is around 30% at the end of the day (average since owning for 2 months). However, 1 day last week I got the force close box come up for TW launcher as I took the phone off charge first thing in the morning. That day my battery was at 52% at the end of the day! I left phone turned on and charged as normal, next day the same, around 50% at end of day (same useage as always, same environment etc). So, next day I turned phone off / on and at end of day battery was around 30% again. To confirm my suspicions I force closed TW launcher and the next day back upto 50% remaining again...
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo basically I rooted and wanted to get rid of some of the bloat, and I removed fb Instagram, the Google+, mag, news, movies and music apps because I never use them, but now when ever I use voice search, it fcs and I'm not really sure, I used titanium to remove everything, could it be because of the other apps i removed?
If i remove google app and reinstall it would that be a fix? I'm stock rooted btw.
I try to delete from window manager section but they do not clear?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought Lumia 710 and I don't understand why isn't there an option to close an app and why do I have to press the back button as many times as needed to close an app. Are you planning to create this option with the 7.8 update?
Otherwise, together with the miserable battery performance, I'm thinking on returning this phone.
I had my phone unlocked and it was sleeping and then when I came to turn it on nothing would happen. It wouldn't even come on when I plug the charger in. I got it to restart by pressing the bottom volume and power button at the same time.
