Galaxy S5 :: Screen Is Inaccessible
Jan 6, 2015The screen is inaccessible and to get it backed up using Kies it promps me to unblock the phone first, which is impossible. Do I still have a chance to get the information?

For some reason, results given by google are now often inaccessible i.e. when i click the results nothing happens.But sometimes all the results can be accessed, other times only a few - which is pretty random and weird. Oct 17, 2011Two times over the weekend my Bionic has gotten to a point where the phone's power buttons nor any of the other buttons would respond. There was only the green indicator blinking on the front of the phone and it seemed to be frozen. I waited around 10 minutes and tried pressing the power button again, holding it down and pressing it repeatedly. Nothing. I did a battery pull on the phone and when I booted it back up it seemed to work.

Oct 15, 2012i've been using the motoactv and find it works great for what i need it to do.
there has been an issue that has happened recently which has caused my motoactv to not be recognised as a USB device anymore. All the music i had on it has vanished (empty lists in the Music section), and when plugged into the PC, the drive does show up, but I cannot access it. (i see both a CD/Drive partition and the presumably user partition)
the motoactv usb application does not detect it and keeps requesting that i put a supported connected device in.
it also appears in the disk management utility of Windows but it is completely blank (showing as 0 bytes) and there is no way for me to repartition it or clean it out using it or diskpart.
i tried doing a factory reset from the menus on the device but that didnt work (everything else seems to work as i think only the user partition/nand drive has been broken.)
i cant listen to any music on my runs anymore! is there something special about the partition that i cannot delete/reset/format it?! is there a tool to set it back to what it was before!?

Motorola Motoactv :: Data Inaccessible When Workout Paused - User Poll?
Jul 6, 2012Name the distance and type of race, I've likely done it several times over. I've trained with heart rate monitors, GPS devices, and Power Meters (for cycling). I push myself hard during workouts. I'm not saying this to impress anybody, trust me - I'm no pro. But I write this in the hopes that someone from Motorola actually reads this and thinks, "this guy represents our target audience. Maybe we should hear him out..." After all, there are plenty of people who train like me. If you're one of them, or if you're a MOTOACTV user who just sees the value in being able to see your data when paused, please add your vote.
The fact that the screen freezes when a workout is paused is the single reason I reach for my Garmin when I'm going out for a serious run. The ability to hit pause, assess how the workout is going, and make adjustments midway is critical. When I stop to take a drink of water, the first thing I do is hit the pause button. The second thing I do is see how I'm doing. Am I going too fast, too slow? Is my heartrate where it should be? What can I do to get back on track? My Garmin gives me all the information necessary to answer these questions. The MOTOACTV gives me nothing other than a song to listen to when I'm fuming over the ridiculousness of this "feature", or rather, the lackthereof.
There is a reason even professional athletes gather around their coach during every time-out, between quarters and during half-time. It's to assess the situation and make adjustments before it's too late. Imagine if, during every time-out or other break in the action, someone comes and tapes the coach's mouth shut and ties his hands behind his back. "How am I doing, coach?" Shrug. "Any advice for me coach?" Shrug. The game resumes, and the coach is allowed to speak again. Yup, there's your MOTOACTV. It's your coach, and he's no where to be found when you need him most.

If anyone knows how to bypass the screen lock or just refresh it. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. I'm not in a great rush since my mum refuses to pay for the fix. and it'll take me a few weeks to save up.i can't unlock the phone because i can't see the screen and i think the touch pad is bust as well.

May 27, 2015I miss the full screen album art on the lock screen from my lg G3 while playing any type of media (Pandora, Spotify, etc.) ... Even worked while I used xbmc (now kodi)... I believe even Samsung had this as well. While some didn't like it, I loved it!
Any way to get that back on the s6/edge?? Not sure why they did away with this.

How I change this? Non of the options I have seen allow this to be disabled they just allow for it to be longer. 10 for screen turn off and 30 mins for lock is the most I can get.

Feb 28, 2015Just discovered my home screen is blank, so I thought I had accidentally changed/moved it when I turned on "Easy Mode" to check that out. Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.

Nov 29, 2015it will not stay asleep (screen off). If I let the screen timeout, or tap the power button, the screen will turn off for about 1/2 a second, and then come right back on. The lock screen will not engage when the screen times out. This developed suddenly overnight, with no app updates or system updates happening (that I'm aware of). Everything else works fine, but battery life is, well, less than good.
The phone is about 6 months old, on Verizon, and runs 5.1.1. It has always been in an otterbox with a screen protector, and is in great condition. No water damage. Never rooted. Not many user-installed apps. The problem persists after factory resets (and before re-installing my apps) and without the case or screen protector. Airplane mode has no effect on the problem.
Could this be a (hardware) defect? I see one other post here with a similar problem, with the solution being to boot into safe mode. However, I can't seem to do that for some reason.
