My Knox was already on my phone and the reviews said it was good. After a few days it would not let me access alot of the apps I have and use them regularly. I uninstalled it but there are still parts of My Knox on my mobile and it's still stopping me using some apps. I want rid of it and I've been told that I need to give root permission but I don't know how to do that.
So display on phone does not show anymore; however, when I plug it into the USB the phone is recognized by iTunes and triggers the permission pop up to access. The only problem is I can't click "Trust" on the iPhone because I don't have a screen that shows it. I can even reset the phone by holding the power and home button. So basically it's give permission with no screen. I have a replacement phone on the way but unfortunately the back up for this phone was deleted during a PC refresh so no backup and that's why I need access to it.Â
I didn't install Galaxy TTS because I don't use S-Voice and I want to save storage space and cut down on the number of running processes. That's why I uninstalled all the updates and disabled it. The same goes for a number of other Samsung and other apps. But Galaxy Apps has just updated itself and proceeded to install TTS and some other stuff that I didn't want. I can uninstall them again but if I've been refusing to install the updates, why would Samsung think it was ok to install them anyway?
I've been noticing something strange after the last update I've got. I received an update of 240mb approximately and after that update my phone doesn't give me the full charge notification like it used to earlier. Only the LED turns green but no beep sound or notification screen turning on?
Something is definitely suss with my battery or what it is reading. I took it off the charger and it immediately became 98%. Then it became 96%. I put it back on the charger and my phone isn't giving an estimated charging time. Wtf...
I now have a S6 and so far it is not rooted. The one thing I miss a lot is the ability to "completely" remove all ads. AdAway does a great job but you need to be rooted to use it. Ad Blocker tries but does not get all the ads . Of all the things I miss by not rooting this is at the top of my list.
I've a galaxy s6 with stock rom. I've rooted my device and I like to encrypt my device. But when I do so, it stuck on the encryption screen for 1 day. When rebooting, the device tell me to wipe the phone because of a failure of encryption.
I currently have Galaxy S6 G920FD. I prevously I am on 5.0.2 with CSC:GLB (Country:Philippines, Network:Globe). I successfuly flashed the French 5.1.1 ROM. Now I flashed back to my native Globe 5.1.1. Problem is the CSC is Thailand and not Globe. How do I change the CSC without root? Tried going to Recovery mode doing full cache wipe and full reset but still it sets the Thailand CSC.
Right, I know the method of using AdBlock Plus and proxy for WIFI and APN, but I cant get it to work; I can still see ads everywhere. I was wondering if there is any other way to block ads without having to root my S6.
I want to have support from samsung... Kinda tired of custom roms and also I want root so badly. So is there any way to have root and get otas from samsung?
I accidentally did a factory reset on my Verizon S6 and lost some photos that had not yet been backed up. Every application that I have been able to find requires root and I do not have root.
I want to update to Lollipop so I want to unroot. When I tried to update, obviously it says it can't work. The weird thing is that I don't have root access anymore. So what do I do? I used towelroot.
So last week I accidentally screwed up my S5 by deleting the "google play store" app after successfully rooting. I did not realize that so many "other" apps rely on that. I used Kies to get back to a factory reset state (as I forgot to do a NANROID backup). So I am happy for that but I now can not re-root my phone as it keeps failing. My question is am I only able to root once ?
What is the best way to fully wipe Samsung S5 (SM-G900F)?
I'm wanting to fully clear my phone as Chrome connected to WiFi can take up to 20 seconds to resolve pages and my battery life has declined to 12 hours or so when it used to last a day! I've installed Avast AV to scan for malware but nothing found but I don't feel confident that something isn't installed on it with all these vulnerabilities such as Stagefright and so on.
Other question I have is my phone was originally carrier locked to O2 (UK Carrier) so when install their firmware again will I be back to been carrier locked?
How can I use my knox samsung with the root on the device s6, the time I did root it appears to be locked, there is a method that does not block my knox. I use it quite as desktop.
Trying to root my Galaxy s6 SM-G920I India version but no luck. Had to restore stock firmware thrice today. Every time I used ODIN 3.10.6 with Unibase or Unikernal it would say kernel is not SEAndroid enforcing and stick to a bootloop. If I use the CF auto root method it says Recovery is not SEAndroid enforcing and again bootloop.
I'm trying to use an app from the playstore called "vipps".
It's from a bank in norway called DNB, and it let's you transfer money near instantly from one to another.
This app refuses to run on my phone because it's rooted and have a custom rom etc.
I'm running Xtrestolite Deodexed with the included alliance firmware.
I have read somewhere about Rootcloak Plus with Cydia (what this really is, but i understood cydia is like app store for iOS jailbreaked phones?)
I'm wondering if this exsists on 5.0.2 lollipop (and how to get it / install it if it does), or if there is any other known way of bypassing this applications refusal to run on my device.
I seen an old thread that people were asking why smart manager wasn't working for ATT. Well now that we have root for it, how do we enable the carrier disabled app?
