View 2 RepliesI'm currently on 5.0.2 and rooted using pingpong root so haven't tripped knox. Possible to update to 5.1.1 while keeping my root and knox intact.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am on 5.0.1 and my Knox isn't tripped. Rooted it with Ping Pong a while back, but want root, marshmallow, and non tripped Knox . If I unroot and update, can I use the SuperSU beta to systemless root without tripping kies?
View 2 Replies View RelatedStarted receiving the update notification yesterday but I am very happy with my phone as is. It's up-to-date up until this update and I'm the kind of person where I feel "if it aint broke don't fix it". I rather hate design changes especially. Anyhow, in the past the only way I knew for disabling the update was to root the phone and use an app to disable the AT&T update app. Are there any other non-root options?
This is the one thing I wish they'd follow from the iPhone. Create an update notification area in settings and let it stay there. I don't need a nag screen every few phone unlocks. At least it's not as bad as when I had a Droid 2. With that thing literally I'd be prompted each and every screen unlock. Think I'm only getting it once or twice a day with my S5.
I need to change my phone IMEI without rooting it. Is it possible ?
How can i do that ? (i can connect my phone to my pc via usb cable).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was having GB version of android on my Xperia Pro. I am using X-plore file manager. When I tried to go to root enabled setting from settings menu of the app. the app said root access disabled and I was never able to get root access. Yesterday I updated to ICS from PC Companion and my app. was already there on my memory card. When I opened the app I was able to go to root folder and the app. haven't said that the root access is disabled. I disabled root enabled setting from settings menu of the app. but I am worrying about wheather any other app. that I install can change my root (default) files. Also my phone is in warranty and it is said that warranty will void if you root your phone. But I have updated my phone through PC Companion and just want to confirm that my warranty won't void.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been looking all around the internets for how to root my r800at running 2.3.3, to no avail. It seems like there isn't any way to do this on the new .285 build. I have tried the DooMLord, UnlockRoot &Super OneClick approaches and all have failed. I have installed the Java JDK, Android SDK, and the SE PC Companion software on my computer, so if any of that is useful, I'm willing to use it. I am a complete noob, but finally decided to root after constantly getting the "Low on space" error message every time I try to update something for the last week. I'm looking for a solution to either a) root the phone without unlocking the bootloader (which is my first choice) or b) solve the "low on space" issue. I love my XPERIA Play and changing phones is not something I'm willing to do. Hopefully you guys can help. Also, being a noob, any answers provided should be done with the mindset that you're talking to a five-year-old.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just received a notification on my 6P saying that the january security update is available. The thing is that I'm rooted with systemless root, xposed, EX Kernel and TWRP.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI now have a S6 and so far it is not rooted. The one thing I miss a lot is the ability to "completely" remove all ads. AdAway does a great job but you need to be rooted to use it. Ad Blocker tries but does not get all the ads . Of all the things I miss by not rooting this is at the top of my list.

I currently have Galaxy S6 G920FD. I prevously I am on 5.0.2 with CSC:GLB (Country:Philippines, Network:Globe). I successfuly flashed the French 5.1.1 ROM. Now I flashed back to my native Globe 5.1.1. Problem is the CSC is Thailand and not Globe. How do I change the CSC without root? Tried going to Recovery mode doing full cache wipe and full reset but still it sets the Thailand CSC.

I've updated X8 from 1.6 android version to 2.1 and the home (middle) button doesn't work anymore. Also the touch screen sometimes doesn't respond. I regret for updating because before this everything was working perfect. I've carefully done step by step the update according to the instructions on PC companion and on site. So is there a way to delete the 2.1 update and return to the root version 1.6?

How do I update the OS without losing root?
So far I've followed heisenberg's guide and have root and recovery.
A new update is out for the 6p with monthly security updates. I have two questions:
1. I'm assuming Google is going to break systemless root. Does this update do that or does it still work?
2. Now that we're seeing monthly updates, keeping root is going to be difficult.
Is there anyway to update without losing data and losing root?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI accidentally did a factory reset on my Verizon S6 and lost some photos that had not yet been backed up. Every application that I have been able to find requires root and I do not have root.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Knox was already on my phone and the reviews said it was good. After a few days it would not let me access alot of the apps I have and use them regularly. I uninstalled it but there are still parts of My Knox on my mobile and it's still stopping me using some apps. I want rid of it and I've been told that I need to give root permission but I don't know how to do that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to update to Lollipop so I want to unroot. When I tried to update, obviously it says it can't work. The weird thing is that I don't have root access anymore. So what do I do? I used towelroot.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo last week I accidentally screwed up my S5 by deleting the "google play store" app after successfully rooting. I did not realize that so many "other" apps rely on that. I used Kies to get back to a factory reset state (as I forgot to do a NANROID backup). So I am happy for that but I now can not re-root my phone as it keeps failing. My question is am I only able to root once ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best way to fully wipe Samsung S5 (SM-G900F)?
I'm wanting to fully clear my phone as Chrome connected to WiFi can take up to 20 seconds to resolve pages and my battery life has declined to 12 hours or so when it used to last a day! I've installed Avast AV to scan for malware but nothing found but I don't feel confident that something isn't installed on it with all these vulnerabilities such as Stagefright and so on.
Other question I have is my phone was originally carrier locked to O2 (UK Carrier) so when install their firmware again will I be back to been carrier locked?
