Dec 21, 2015I've gone into the "app info" and force stopped, cleared the cache, and turned my phone off and back on; it just starts right back up again.

Apr 24, 2012I just upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S2 to ICS (XEU version) and since then the Android email application has been constantly downloading data in the background. It's used 500mb in 24 hours, although it's only downloaded a few hundred kb of emails.
Samsung want me to take it to a service centre to flash ICS off and re-install it, but the nearest place is miles away. how I can stop this because it's now gone over my data cap on my phone contract? I've no idea how to uninstall ICS myself!

Jul 3, 2011The following questions are probably more Android-related in general, and not SGSII - specific. But as the SGSII is my first Android smartphone, please bear it with me and try to explain everything in layman's terms 1. In Contacts, what exactly does the "Merge with Google" option do (apart from displaying that little "g" icon next to a contact)? Also, after using it, I don't see to be able to revert the action - is it still possible?. Is it only possible to synchronize my Contacts with my Google account after the above mentioned "Merge with Google" action has been applied, or are they completely separate? E.g. if I add a new contact to my Phone, will it get synchronized with Google even if I don't Merge it with Google first?
3. Is it possible to also synchronize other contacts (like those from Facebook, LinkedIn, etc) in order to store them on my Google account for safety reasons4. Does the Google contacts synchronization work also the other direction, i.e. after I edit My Contacts on my Google accont, can I just use "Synchronize" in the SGSII to update the Phone contacts? Or do I need to delete all Contacts from my Phone first, and only then synchronize to the current Google version?5. I write messages/emails in English as often as I do in Polish. When I set Polish as the input language in Voice Recognition settings, and happen to compose a message in English using voice recognition, it often happens some Polish words are generated (and vice versa). I thought it would be logical if - apart from the global input language setting - the keyboard input language settings (changeable via the Space bar) - would eliminate the problem (ie. the VR engine should expect and use only English words when the keyboard is set to Eng, and so on) - but it doesn't seem to work.

This would allow me to easily toggle between English and German, for 'voice to text' recognition. Is there a toggle action/application that allows the selection of more then one language and swapping between them similarly to swiping the space bar on the keyboard?

I searched, and I found some people on maemo.org complaining that they don't get directions if the N900 is not connected to the Internet. Can I use the GPS without a data plan, as in "get directions and see a map of the road ahead"? It's possible to complete in online mode missing information, but found errors in France, Germany, Czech ( between Prague and Olomouc). Also my country Estonia is missing much detailed area data. Jul 1, 2015Before the recent 5.1 lollipop update everything seemed to work fine for me, but after the update for some reason when I type a message in Hebrew (I have English US and Hebrew enabled) and send it, the keyboard switches back to English and then I have to manually swipe the spacebar back to Hebrew after each time I send a message. Before the update the keyboard language would stay on Hebrew after I sent a message in Hebrew. It seems that the keyboard is defaulted to English because when I bring up the keyboard to type something it always comes up in English.

May 16, 2012i have a 2 gb per month data plan, and never used more than ~500 mb. a few days ago i all of a sudden started getting notices that i was approaching my data limit. after some digging i found out i had apparently used 445 mb on 5/13 and 929 mb on 5/12. i have no idea what it was. i did play the iphone game hunters2 and stream some music for a while using the rixfm swedish radio app, but the game is not online and the radio was only for maybe an hour total. i watch the occasional Internet video but never video chat or download movies.

Aug 23, 2014I recently bought an iphone 5c (3-4 months ago). Up untill about a week ago, everything was working fine but now I can't download applications over cellular data.
On wifi, i can dowload things fine and my data is working fine (i can use safari, email, imessage, whatsapp ect. without any issues) but when i click on install, i see this circle turning. When i go to my springboard, i can see an icon but it has no image on it and says "waiting" under it, and after about a minute it dissapears...
My iphone IS running the lastest version of ios (7.1.2, non-jailbroken) and apart from a few battery issues, no other problems with the iphone.

May 10, 2010I would like to download podcasts onto my phone when at home (set time) and then listen to them later when away from a data connection. There seams to be a number of possible ways of doing this on the N97 and I don't know which is the correct way. I have only managed it successfully once. My main problem is finding where the file has been saved. I would like to download the BBC Chris Moyles weekly round up. There is an enhanced version (with pictures) which I have not managed to get working on my phone. Does anyone have that working on an N97? Can I download the radio show from iPlayer to my phone and play later?

Galaxy S6 :: Clear Cached Data - Will Lose Settings / Saved Data For Any Apps
Sep 11, 2015I'm constantly battling low internal drive space on my Tab S (I'll NEVER buy another 16GB internal drive device), but this question should also pertain to my S6.
When I go into my "Storage" settings, I have the option to clear my cache with one click. I'd like to use this function to clear off my cached browsing, imgur, etc., but my concern is my games.
1) If I clear the cache, will I lose my saved game data?
2) Will I lose any settings for any apps?

Nov 20, 2015I regularly buy and download music from the Amazon Music App. For the past few weeks after I purchase a song and download it to my device it is no where to be found. I dug around in my phone files and found my Taylor Swift songs in a folder. Here is the path: SD card> android> data> com.amazon.mp3> files> music> private> taylor swift>speak now
But they are .m4a files and cant be played on my music app. I don't want to have to download a new music player app, i just want everything back how it used to be.

May 17, 2015As the title says it; I'm having problems downloading any theme from the app store. Any theme I choose and hit "Download" on it just brings up a window for 1/2 a second that I believe says "Downloading" but never actually does anything. Another weird thing, the other 2 themes that are kind of defaulted for options that you can download both work. I'm not sure if this is a silly question, however I can't seem to figure it out as no one else seems to have this issue.
Random pieces of information:
1. Yes, my phone is rooted, however this issue was still around before I did so.
2. I have the AT&T variant Galaxy S6.
3. I've checked to see if there's any apparent apps I disabled that may cause it but the only app that seems like it may be related is "Theme Store", and that of course isn't disabled.
Galaxy S6 :: When Downloading Image Getting Asked Which App To Use
Oct 27, 2015When downloading an image either through my browser (Chrome) or an app, I click the notification which says "image has been downloaded". Every single time I do this, I get asked which app to use (I also have Google Photos installed and a File Manager). Despite selecting "Always" use this app, I always get asked.
Plus, when I select the stock Gallery app, the image comes up but I cannot share it from there, but at top right is a drop-down menu where I can set it as my Wallpaper. I have to go back to my Home screen, click Gallery, back out of the image to the main Gallery page, locate the image in the relevant folder (i.e. Downloads), open it, and then I get the full array of options at the bottom (Favorite, Share, Edit, Delete).
