Why do I have two 'Android' folders (folders for app data) - one on my SD card and other one in device storage? In both 'Android' folders are a lot of common sub-folders, but in folder in device storage there is more files in those sub-folders. e.g. there is a ninegag sub-folder in which is another sub-folder called 'Images', and there are automatically saved profile pictures of other ninegag users whose comments I saw, but on SD card that sub-folder is empty (even after I moved data to SD card in app manager)..So what's the point of duplicating folders and is there any way to have only one folder for app data (is this normal and what would happen if I just delete 'Android' folder on SD card)?
I tried a search with no luck.On the device or in desktop manager, how can I view the all the folders on the tour? I can't figure out how (probably a stupid question). Also, i created a sheet to go file on the tour and want to transfer it to my computer. I see no options in desktop manager how to do it. I am using a trial preium version of sheets to go on the bb.
My s6 (all stock) Is missing 6 folders full of apps. I have the apps in my applications menu, and I can only access them if I go through Google play. A few of the sideloaded ones I can't get to at all. I have tried rebooting numerous times.
It occurred after I updated on Verizon to 5.1.1 and my phone died. After charging a bit, I booted the phone and it went into safe mode. I turned off the safe mode and rebooted, still missing. Booted into safe mode separately... After turn off and reboot. Still the same thing.
So far I've been using MS SyncToy 2.1 to synchronize folder contents between my PC and my SE X10. I just go the SGS II and for some reason when I try to sync the required folders, I can't choose any of the folders under either "card" or "phone". They are there, but show as not selectable.... The same with Cobian.
I upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich on my Galaxy S2 yesterday and now I've lost visibility of my Exchange sub-folders within the default Email app. If I open up Email it defaults to my Inbox, but when I hit the menu key and select folders the only ones I can see are the main root folders, Inbox, Drafts, Outbox, Sent, Deleted etc. I have a load of sub-folders underneath my Inbox that I need to be able to get to on my phone as I use it for work. This all worked fine on Gingerbread.I've removed my Exchange account from the phone and re-added it, but this made no difference. Interestingly on re-adding the account and going into the folders section I saw all my sub-folders and then as the initial sync was occurring they were removed one by one until it left me with the same default folders as I mentioned above.
I have s6 Edge. I cannot create folders in application menu. I know you are suppose to press 'EDIT' and then drag application to drop onto another one. For me selected application just goes back to its original location.
So I have two basic things down. In your home screen or the subsequent screens when you move one shortcut on top of another it gives you the opportunity to create a folder. You can even change the color of these folders. I have created an AT&T folder, Google folder, Samsung folder, Microsoft, and Social (Facebook, Instagram, twitter).
But I wanted to create a folder called "media" or "sports" With apps like Pandora, ESPN, Fox news, Milk, Watch ESPN, NBC Live. To get to all of these apps right now they are in the 12 square little white apps logo down at the bottom by the calendar. When I go into my apps that are alphabetical a through Z. and I try to move one on top of the other by holding it down it takes that app and puts it on one of my home screen. I tried dragging it to the right and then I just create another screen with one icon on it. I have a folder in there, trying to figure out how I even did that?? I know if you click the edit button you get a little - up in a corner of each symbol but I don't want to delete them. I would just like to put ESPN on top of Fox 2 Go, and NBC Live And create a folder called "sports."
I thought about dragging all of these onto a blank page and then create my folder there, but how do I move it back under the "app" it is actually 4x4 white squares. It's just confusing going back and forth because it doesn't seem like it wants you to.
Using the stock email app, when i read a email on my outlook(pc) the email does not show up read on my s5, it still shows as a new email. I didnt have this issue with my gs3. same email account (imap) on outlook and set up the same way on s5.
Since I've had my S5, when I would download a pic from the internet, I'd be able to go into my gallery, into a folder called "download" and edit, send them, etc. All of a sudden that folder just disappeared! I downloaded a pic just to check, and the pic IS on my phone (not SD card, I've never used one), but there's no way for me to access it in the gallery. I don't know what changed, and it's annoying!
I am very happy with the galaxy s2 but I can't seem to be able to see all my yahoo mail folders. is this a known issue? someone said you need to install "Yahoo! Mail for Android" but then I have two apps for yahoo mail, how do I disable/uninstall the seeded app so I can correctly identify "unread" mails which is not possible when the seeded app is still running.
very first message here at this forum, I've just got my SGSII 1 week ago :-) wanted to organize all my apps into folders, so I did create folders and distribute them all among them.urious thing is that if all folders fit in one single page and all apps are inside those folders, apps are not shown at all.'m getting thing:If I pinch to see all pages, I can see my page with all the folders:f I touch to select, I'm back at a blank page, as in the first image attached. To see my apps, I just edited them and moved one folder to another page, and now I can see a page with one folder and another with the rest.
I am just playing with my new SII and I am kind of frustrated trying to sync photos/music with Kies. I want to use Kies as it compresses the photos, which is perfect, but it copies all photos into the DCIM/camera folder on the phone. How do I change the destination location for photos/music please? Plus can I transfer folders so the folder structure is kept intact and not all dumped into 1 folder like it is doing now?
Before the latest update, most of my apps were organized into folders and some of these folders were placed on the home screens. After the updates, some of the folders are "gone" not only from the home screen but from the apps area. I can see the apps if I go into App Manager, but I cannot open them from there. So I currently cannot find any way to open many apps that I previously downloaded (and app manager says I still have). Strangely, this only happened with some apps and folders but not all . What do I need to do to regain access to these apps?
I have many photos in Picasa, sorted into many folders. On the S5, it displays all the picasa pics as one folder. On my S3 it displayed the folders individually. How to display the pics in folders?
I started to transfer my pictures from my phone to my computer and realized that all of them didn't transfer, even though they show up in Gallery and Photos. When I started looking at the folder structure on my phone while I had it connected to my computer, I found pictures in other folders. How many different folders are used to store pictures and is there a way I can get them to save to the same place so I can transfer them more easily. The ones that seem to be in different folders are the ones I've saved from texts and emails. They're in 2 different folders. I'm worried that I'm going to miss others because I don't know where they are.
I've used ES File Explorer / Manager for years on my Androids. I've had the S5 for a few weeks, and I notice that I can't delete a folder on my SD card. I tried another File Manager from Cheetah, it can't do it either. I can create and delete folders on the phone storage. I can create folders on the SD card, but can't delete them.
For now, I have to connect a USB cable, and delete from my PC, which works fine.
Is it possible to have anything other than the clock on the Lockscreen, an you have a widget on there or something?and Secondly:I'm not too sure if this is the right way to go about this but being a bit of a novice with respect to smart phones I'm open to other suggestions.I'm off on holiday soon and want to take a few audiobooks with me. So what I thought was that I create a Folder on my Home screen called Holiday Books and stick in the audiobooks that I want to take with me.
Q1) How do I put the (MP3) audiobooks into this Holiday Books folder?
Q2) How do I associate a particular music player with the audiobook files as I don't use the music player provided on the phone?
is it possible to create folders in the app drawer of Launcher pro? Also, is it possible to create folders within folders (on homescreen or app drawer)
I always believe it is better to use folders to organize apps on home screen in terms of better performance. However, I don't like TW lollipop folder icon, so I'm thinking about adding a lot of home screen pages and sort apps on different pages.
I have a new S6 from Sprint (previous G4). Is there a way to delete multiple emails from the inbox & or trash folders of my personal pop3 account? Removing them, I cannot find a select all button. Or maybe there is another email app I can use.
My company has recently switched from iPhone to the S5. I received over 200 emails per day so my email is set up with an inbox and several folders. All of the folders are set to push mail from our server. After selecting all of the folders to push email it will work for about a day. When I wake in the morning only email in my inbox is showing. All of the emails in the folders are no longer showing and the settings are all changed to manual. It seems like the email settings are resetting themselves nightly. I have tried deleting and re-adding the account and turning off power save.
I'm constantly battling low internal drive space on my Tab S (I'll NEVER buy another 16GB internal drive device), but this question should also pertain to my S6.
When I go into my "Storage" settings, I have the option to clear my cache with one click. I'd like to use this function to clear off my cached browsing, imgur, etc., but my concern is my games.
1) If I clear the cache, will I lose my saved game data? 2) Will I lose any settings for any apps?
i have a galaxy s6 through Bell and it is completely stock and i have not modified it in any way. i am having an issue where some apps, but not others, will not download data unless i am on wifi. i do have some apps that have background data restricted but i am having issues when the apps are in the foreground and are actively being used. i have checked to make sure that there are no data limits or restrictions blocking data, i have full lte signal and i have tried toggling between lte and 3g with the same results.
i have used the phone for 5 weeks at least and for the first 3 weeks all was good until this issue crept up and i had to do a hard reset. i started from scratch and reset the phone and all was good for another 2 weeks and now it is an issue again. as an example, i open the play store app and it loads up the icons and i can use lte and load all info and pics, etc, but when i try to download a new app or update an existing one it will indicate that it is trying to download but nothing happens. i can switch to the browser and it will open pages but when i switch back to the play store it says that background data is disabled when it is actually not.
today i have also had issues with google music where it will allow me to play radio stations over lte just fine sometimes and other times the icons will be greyed out and it will not allow the radio stream to open unless i switch to wifi. the settings are set up to allow me to stream over data, etc so it should be working.i have had many android devices in the past and am usually able to figure this stuff out but i am stumped on this one.
I know just connect the data cable to computer and transfer data but when i connect data cable to computer it does not show any thing on the computer and not even on the phone.so how should i make my phone able to transfer data to pc.
I have a new T-Mobile S6 Edge and love the phone, but one thing I have not figured out is why I still get background mobile data usage even though I have disabled mobile data and set "restrict background data". Both tuiService and OS services are downloading approximately 100K at a time periodically over mobile data throughout the day even though I have a wifi connection.
I have noticed an issue with the Galaxy S5 that apparently only occurs with the Verizon variant. I work for a place called Wireless Advocates, we are the cell phone kiosk inside of Costco. I'm asking about this because I've had three customers come in to ask about this background data issue.
I'm not sure what triggers this issue but when I try opening up google play I get the "Background Data Disabled : Google Play Store Needs background data to be Enabled" error. It then gives you the ability to either quit or enable the data. If you press enable it takes you to the account screen in settings.
When I go to Data usage the option to "restrict background data" is greyed out. You can't even select it and it isn't checkmarked either. Just to clarify, accessing the internet and other things on the phone work perfectly fine. It's just the use of Google Play that is having issues. I called Samsung customer care and they aren't aware of this issue at all. Also note that force stopping google play, play services, removing the google accounts and adding them back and rebooting the phone haven't solved it. After the reboot the phone will appear fine and then a box that says "Restricting background data".
When I had my S4 I would plug it in and sync it to my backup hard drives. It would mount on my computer as a drive (not a media device) and I could tell the sync program to basically copy the drive. I understand that only MTP and PTP are supported now. My question is, can I still do this with some type of workaround. What I loved about having the exact copy is that the file structure was the same. I would just plug the phone in and hit sync. Everything was copied. Another way I would do this was to remove the SD card and plug it into my computer. The sync software would see it as a drive as well.
I know some will say, use Smart Switch or a backup program. My issue with that is they either save to the internal storage or the cloud so I'm having to copy the file over to the drive after the backup (which takes twice as long). ALSO, anything that is filed under Private Mode is not copied on any of the backup programs that I've tried. Smart Switch doesn't touch anything in the private section which is probably the stuff I want backed up the most. I could have this wrong, but I tried to use the software with private mode enabled and the files were no where in the backup folder.I've also tried to manually drag the files over, but it takes forever waiting on the computer to calculate the move, and I have to compare what I've deleted/moved versus what's new/existing.
The problem is that I'm using a sync software that has to see the target as a folder, drive, or network location (Allway Sync). I've tried using a WIFI explorer, but it doesn't allow me to grab the root. That ends up meaning I have to go folder by folder which also takes forever. Any workaround that would allow me to mount the phone as a drive and sync it to my computer.
