That topic probably didn't make much sense, so let me try to explain. I have an @carrier.blackberry.net set up as the primary email on my Tour. The oldest email I have on my device is from December 12th. I kept it on my device a reference as I knew I would have to refer back to it. Anyways the email string is quite long, and I need to select "more" in order to view the whole message. When I choose that option I get an error message saying "Couldn't retrieve more", and then a red X appears beside that email in the message list. Is this normal? Does the message purge itself off of RIM's email server after a certain period of time? I guess that would make sense, but I've never noticed it until now. Does anyone have any insight?
When I take vidoes on my Galaxy and transfer them to my PC, by default they open up sideways. This is a huge headache when it comes to watching them. What do you guys use for looking at videos on you PC? Default Windows programs aren't working without me having to flip it

My question pertains to the different storage locations on the phone. I hope that I am making my question crystal clear.
About the “Internal Storage” folder on my phone. I noticed that when I take a picture using the phone’s camera, it automatically puts the picture in a folder called, “Camera.” I can see this folder when I open the “File Commander” on my phone, and I can view the picture this way. Also, I can view this picture by opening up the “Album” on my phone.
I noticed that when I open File Commander, I can also get to a bunch of folders under “Internal Storage.” I can create sub folders in this folder and move my pictures here, if I want to. If I move a picture to this location, it is no longer viewable by opening, “The Album.” But who cares. Not a big deal, as I can always just open the File Commander if I want to see my pictures.
Next – I connected my phone to my PC running Windows 7 and noticed that all the folders are recognized and show in windows explorer EXCEPT the “Internal Storage” folder.
My question is WHERE should I store my pics and videos and other files on my phone so that if the Android operating system were to fail and I had to reinstall it, the files would not disappear? If I make a file system under “Internal Storage” and save my files there, will the files be gone if the operating system has to be reinstalled or if I upgrade to a later version of the OS?
I am looking for a stable and extra safe platform for my IPhone and mac to store sensitive data (bank account no.s, passwords, receipts, certificates, ids, cc etc.). It will have to sync preferable over the air, have super strong encryption and allow a variety of files. I've really looked deep and hard for this, but I haven't come away with an impression that one is better than the other, or that enough users are vouching for it, hence I am posting to the forums for experience. Off the top of my head what seemed to stand out was meo, lockbox and 1 password, but none was all around convincing or had enough good references. If there are any users that have a contrarily approach to safety (the people who think a laptop with no WiFi that never connects to the network being the only solution). I would love them to chime in, because it's important that we try to establish a realistic but practical approach to our data that will safeguard them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to set the amount of time my S5 holds emails? Currently my phone email has them going back for at least 4 months and it's using up a ton of memory. If I delete them from my phone they also disappear from my web-based server (AT&T) that normally holds 30 days of emails before automatically archiving. I can still access deleted emails by doing a specific search but they don't appear otherwise.

I just added back my gmail mail account on the Torch. I am pretty sure that I used to have "archive" as an option in the menu, and also when I archived on the dektop, the mail would disappear in the gmail mail list, now it does not.I added the mail account through setup following the gmail account option. The only difference from before is that I no longer sync contacts/calendar.what I can do to make Archive work again?

View 8 Replies View RelatedBefore the update to iOS 5.1 when I "deleted" emails in the native mail app the emails would be "archived" in my gmail account. Now, when I delete the emails on the native mail app, the emails are sent to the trash. I cannot find a toggle in the mail settings to restore the archive feature (if it exists).
