So I updated to lollipop...tried everything to fix issues, finally gave up and did a factory reset.
I pulled out the sd card first, just in case. Now that everything is back and running...I realized that the private photos (which I had moved to sd card) are missing. I've Googled around, no luck finding them. Even when I plug into a PC I don't see them.
In the stock Gallery app I chose a few pics to test the Private feature and now I can't figure out how to access them, duh (on my part).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S5, unrooted, and I have been using a Samsung Evo 32 GB MicroSD card since I bought the phone in July. About a week ago I went to check for a photo and found that all of my photo albums that were stored on the MicroSD card were not found, along with all of my music and ringtones. When I looked at the storage, it didn't read my MicroSD card at all.
I turned off the phone, took out the microSD card, and put it into my Samsung Galaxy TabPro tablet, but my tablet read no data at all on the MicroSD card.
I tried to put the MicroSD card into an adapter to look at it on my laptop, but the adapter software said the card had to be formatted before it could be opened in Windows, so I dropped that idea for now.
How to have my card readable again or at least be able to retrieve the photos that were on the card? I had transferred a lot of personal and important photos onto the card (recent weddings of friends and family, pictures of my dog, etc.), and I'll be pretty upset if that's all truly lost forever.
Did a factory rest on s5 and lost some photos how do I get them back?

My private mode isn't working! I've had my phone (s6) for 6 weeks tops, it doesn't give me a chance to do my finger print says it is unable to verify as soon as I try to turn on private mode, then I try my pin and says incorrect password entered 5 times, when I have entered the correct password one time! I moved a few photos into the private folder and when the phone shut off private mode did as well. Now I cannot remember my password and there is no fingerprint backup.
Samsung supports response Keep trying paswords. I realize I should have written it down, but I was slightly overwhelmed moving to android. There has to be a way to retrieve.
Every time I try to go into private mode it tells me "Failed to enable private mode".

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo, I had about 9 gig worth of files (pics/video) in the Private Folder using the Privacy mode on my S5. I wanted that space back, so I moved the files out of privacy mode to another location, then deleted them.
However, the stupid phone is still reserving that 9 gig worth of space in that folder. It shows as "other" in the "my file" and es browser app and when I plug the thing into a computer, windows shows that the private "disk" has 9 gig of used space, even though it is empty.

The android system (6.0) update notification came on my phone yesterday (Moto X Pure 2015). Since I couldn't connect to a WiFi where I was, I decided to switch to my cellular data. But as soon as I did that the notification disappeared. I tried finding it on my phone settings, where you go to settings-->about phone-->system updates. It says my device it upto date. How can I retrieve the notification? I was waiting for my android OS update for a month and then this happened.

But I'm having a problem removing the previous owner information.I've tried the factory reset, entering in recovery mode and wipe out data and cache, tried update rom with odin and kies. have tried remove all app's photos, and contacts. What is the best way to fully wipe Samsung S5 (SM-G900F)?
I'm wanting to fully clear my phone as Chrome connected to WiFi can take up to 20 seconds to resolve pages and my battery life has declined to 12 hours or so when it used to last a day! I've installed Avast AV to scan for malware but nothing found but I don't feel confident that something isn't installed on it with all these vulnerabilities such as Stagefright and so on.

So my wife in her infinite wisdom, bought a Galaxy S6 off some guy at her work to replace my aging HTC M8. The catch being that he forgot his Samsung credentials, so he couldn't log in, and therefore is selling the phone to make up for his stupidity.Before buying it, she checked the IMEI and its clear, along with the fact that the guy had all the original stuff that came with it, and it was almost brand new.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've got a Sprint Galaxy S5, and just did the OTA update to Lollipop. Initially I was getting a notification about a Google Play Services error, and all the icons for apps stored on my SD card were grayed out, but still usable. The Google Play Services error and the icon issue seemed to take care of themselves with a re-start, and everything seems to be working OK now.
I've read here and other places that doing a Wipe Partition Cache after the update often smooths things up and can improve speed, with no risk of losing data. Well, I've tried about a dozen times to do the 3 button press, but all I ever accomplish is restarting the phone. Is there a trick to getting into Recovery, or should I just keep trying?
I dropped my phone and cracked the screen and now the screen is all black. I went through insurance and received my new phone. I've deactivated the old phone and activated my new phone. I've been reading other responses for a similar problem but it seems like most of them have not activated the new phone yet and were able to wipe the phone using the Android Device Manager. Since I've already activated my new phone, if I use ADM it finds my new phone and not my old phone.
Is there a way to wipe the data off of the old phone with a broken screen after I've already activated my new phone?
