View 2 RepliesSo I have a Galaxy S6, and up until recently, it was working fine, but after I installed a couple of apps (Lucky Patcher, Busybox free, Freedom and a modded version of google play store) I have been able to drag down the status bar from my lock screen, given the fact that I use the fingerprint lock. I would like to find a way to disable this "feature"...

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wife turned her Galaxy S5 on yesterday, slid her finger across the scanner to open the phone and it came up with the print not recognised message (as it has many times before). This time however, it did not allow her to scan her print again. the screen changed and asked her for a back up password, not a problem as she has done this a fair few times too, it just seemed strange that it only allowed one stroke of the scanner before asking for this. We have tried her back up password many times (and any other password we could think of) but the phone will not unlock, nor will it return to the normal lock screen and allow her to try her print again.
We have logged onto Android device manager and tried the lock screen hack (to obtain another password) but it just tells us that the screen is already locked so another password is not necessary.
I have set my lock screen to pattern but it seems to revert back to swipe when the phone locks itself ? Samsung s5.

View 1 Replies View RelatedTried a few times to set this up using known locations. The phone recognizes its at the known location but i still cant unlock without having to use the fingerprint scan. It would be key if i didn't have to use the scan every time Im in a comfortable locale.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just made the switch from an iPhone to a Galaxy S6 yesterday and I couldn't be more excited, other than one problem. I have set up all four fingerprint options on the phone, and have set the screen lock type as fingerprints. When I lock the phone, however, the security option is just a swipe. I have already tried a soft reset and would prefer not to do a hard reset because I just finished uploading contacts and photos. I have even tried the other security options such as a pattern or a passcode and when I set those as my screen lock options its still just a swipe.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up the fingerprint lock on the edge 6. So I've gone to setting and security and all that. I've added both thumbs as fingerprints. And under lock screen type it says fingerprint. Yet every time I lock the screen and hit the home button it says swipe to unlock. Even tho I go back to settings and under lock screen it says fingerprints. What step am I missing? Also I restarted the phone and the first time I pressed the home button it asked for my fingerprint but then after that it went to swipe screen. What should I do to fix this so it's fingerprint every time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to use either a fingerprint or pattern for unlocking? I know with iPhones you can use your fingerprint, even when prompted for your password. I would like the option to use both (phone is in a running arm band, pattern works best).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use Zooper Widgets on my Widget Locker lock screen but it seems like using the fingerprint sensor isn't possible with Widget Locker. Is there any way to use it on a lock screen other than the stock lock screen? Another app? Or is there any way to use widgets on the stock lock screen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to turn on fingerprint lock. When I click on "+ Add Fingerprint" I immediately get an error message saying "Make sure that the Home key is clean and dry, then try again". It does this before even attempting to scan my fingerprint. When I click OK on the message it closes out of the add fingerprint screen straight away. When I go back in there I get the same message immediately.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently had my phone reset to factory settings. I've gone through and installed all my apps etc back on to it and updated the software to the current build (all stock, and not rooted).
I have had 2 issues with it, the first being not being notified of emails from the gmail app - sync was ticked, as were the relevant labels...still didn't get any notifications through. I read somewhere that if downloaded the gear app (for smart watches) it would resolve it - it has seemed to, even uninstalled the app and I'm still receiving notifications.
The 2nd issue is around the fingerprint lock. If i leave my phone to time out, the fingerprint scanner lock works as it should do. If I lock the phone with the power button, it bypasses the fingerprint scanner and only locks it with a swipe.
Before updating / factory reset it worked as it should do.
I bought a samsung galaxy s2 off a friend and its on the 2.3.6 version. It has been unlocked (still has t-mobile branding on it though) and rooted. What i want to know is if i update it via samsung to the latest software which is ICS 4. something would the phone be locked to t-mobile again? i know i will loose the root access im not bothered with that all i want to do it update it to the latest software, but afraid of it being locked back to t-mobile.

View -1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I press the power button on my Samsung to wake it up, it automatically comes up with the 'no match' message, thinking that there is always a finger on the button, meaning it instantly sends me to the back up password screen.
When on the fingerprint set up tab in settings it still thinks that a finger is placed on the home button, if I try to add a new fingerprint I can leave my phone laying down without touching it and the phone starts adding up in percentages as if I was adding my own fingerprint, yet I'm not even touching it.
Been locked out of my galaxy 6 cant use finger print and wont let me use password what can I do how do I reset my phone if I can not open it ????
View 1 Replies View Relatedso I've had my Galaxy S6 and the fingerprint sensor has always worked fine. Yesterday it worked great all day long at work, then when I got home, it wouldn't work at all. I rebooted and still it wouldn't work, I cleared cache and data, did the hardware test, and it passed. It still didn't work, so I erased the fingerprints, and retrained my right thumbprint only. Now it seems to unlock with any finger of anybody! As long as they touch lightly, it unlocks about 90 percent of the time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tap "ok" and the message comes back again. The strange thing is that the message is in spanish (I have my phone in English and that the lockscreen photo has dissapeared and the xperia theme is there now.
It seems like the phone is working ok in the background, but I cannot access the homescreen.
I can take screenshots, change the volume, etc. and as I could access the phone's internal and sdcard I made all the backups as possible.
When I lock my SGS II i would expect all the buttons to lock! However the power button function remain active and its far too easy to accidently power off my phone or set it into flight mode.Does anyone know how to disable this "feature" ??
View 6 Replies View RelatedI can not get the "swipe" option back on my Galaxy S5. I had used the WiFi at work one day but decided that I really did not need it so I had turned it off. It did ask me to reset my security option to pin, pattern, etc etc so I set a pin number, but now I can't get it back to swipe - the "Swipe" section is grayed out in the "Select screen lock" section and it says "Turned off by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage." I already tried to clear credentials and I also looked for the certificate it asked me to install and i removed that as well. None of that has solved my issue. What I need to do to get swipe access back?
