Galaxy S5 :: Why Cannot Get Swipe Back On Lock Screen
Aug 20, 2015I can not get the "swipe" option back on my Galaxy S5. I had used the WiFi at work one day but decided that I really did not need it so I had turned it off. It did ask me to reset my security option to pin, pattern, etc etc so I set a pin number, but now I can't get it back to swipe - the "Swipe" section is grayed out in the "Select screen lock" section and it says "Turned off by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage." I already tried to clear credentials and I also looked for the certificate it asked me to install and i removed that as well. None of that has solved my issue. What I need to do to get swipe access back?

Aug 21, 2015Currently, my HTC one m7 requires that i swipe the screen and then enter my screen lock password to access the phone.
I would rather that i didnt have to use the swipe before entering the password, but i cannot seem to disable this without disabling the screen lock completely.
I have tried several apps to do this including No Lock and Anti Lock, but both just seem to completely disable the screen locking at all.

Enough to put anyone in a great mood.Fixing the screen isn't the problem though. 02 have agreed to fix it for me, for a small fee, but they have confirmed that the whole phone will be flashed before hand. If anyone knows how to bypass the screen lock or just refresh it. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. I'm not in a great rush since my mum refuses to pay for the fix. and it'll take me a few weeks to save up.i can't unlock the phone because i can't see the screen and i think the touch pad is bust as well.

Apr 27, 2015I hated the screen lock on my G5 ( only had it on one day)so tried to get rid of it - typed in password - then I tried an option and it asked me to type in password again and confirm 2nd time. Maybe I tapped in something wrong which didn't match ( did it without my glasses) - but it annoyingly said wrong password now and keeps saying it's the wrong password. What now? I can't find anywhere how to turn screen lock or password off or to reset/forgotten password or the like. Who can I get in touch with if problem is bad. I don't want to factory reset and all that malarky. I've had the phone for nearly a year on my contract and what the hell made me do this stupid thing I don't know. There should be a caution warning on it. Is my phone going to lock me out once the lock sets in if I don't use the phone for 5mins or whatever the activation time was?

Nov 6, 2014if you have an ecrypted Samsung Galaxy S5 you already know that once you've encrypted it your only option for a screen lock is to enter a secure password. This gets annoying fast. When you want to access your phone quickly on the go it can be difficult to unlock it with any speed. Well I've come up with a way to get past the password lock screen with the same speed as a password and consistently quicker than the finger print scanner unlock.
What I've done and I've included on how to do it yourself instructions below. I've set my password to be one of my hot key options on my Samsung keyboard. I've also shortened my delay for the long press but how to do that isnt included here. (hopefully with screen shots we'll see first time attempt at posting pics here)
Doing this will allow you to quickly get by your lock screen and still have an encrypted device.
**NOTE** This is not a substitute to remember your password. Know it regardless of this being setup or not.
**NOTE** If you have auto space turned on (factory default setting) you will need to press backspace 1 time to delete the added space or you will receive an incorrect password error message.
Here's how to do it:
1. Enter the pull down menu and click settings.
2. Tap Language & Input.
3. Now click on the samsung keyboard settings icon.
4. Next if turn on the my hot keys icon.
5. Enter your password under any number to long press to have it typed.
*Don't forget if you have auto space on you will need to press backspace 1 time to delete the space or your password will not work.

I have a question I just recently got a new Electrify and some how the screen swipe lock has gotten diabled.The only way I can have the swipe lock work is if I set up the security lock with a pattern or pin. I dont want the security lock as a option I just want the swipe lock to keep me from accidently pushing buttons on the phone.

Apr 21, 2015I'm going to buy S6 but I would only go for the unlocked/non-carrier version so I'm still waiting. During the time, I try S6/edge several times at Bestbuy and did find something very strange when I swipe the screen left or right. I didn't realize it's the problem(actually I was thinking my finger was too dry) until I tried the S5 right next to it and didn't find anything wrong.
It happens when you swipe left back to Homescreen from magazine app(Flipboard integrated). It's playing animation and don't let you do anything during this animation. So basically if you swipe left twice quickly, it is supposed to go to the second screen on the right but it didn't. That works fine on S5 but not on S6. On S6 the second swipe(or any extra swipe after that but before the animation is over) didn't work and didn't react to your finger until the animation is played completely. I am not sure if it's the problem of display phones or a general problem.

I restarted the device, upon restart the finger print scanner was enabled upon restart. but once i return back to the lock screen it is gone. Why they wont stay enabled or enable at all?
Figured out it was set to only enable after 10 mins of no activity.

I agreed and set up a pattern screen lock. I got tired of unlocking phone every time. I went to disable the screen lock and I am NOT ABLE to do that. The security settings for NONE and SWIPE have been grayed out and are no longer an option. I have removed ANDROID PAY and still have issue.
