I have them all backed up to Google Photos and don't need them also on my phone.
I read that if I remove my original pictures from my S6, all those pictures will be removed from my google photos as I am interacting with the cloud--instead of just my android phone. But I need to clear up some space on my 64gb phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the international SM-G920I version of the S6, running the latest 5.1.1 update.Recently, it has started giving me issues in the Google Photos app. I am unable to back up any photos. When I go open the app and go to the Assistant tab, it always shows "Backing up 1 item out of XX".
When I go to the "Backup & Sync" settings of the app, I get constant toast notifications saying "Backing up 1 out of XX". I factory reset my phone and tried again, however the issue persists. I am able to upload photos onto Google Photos using my computer, so it does not seem to be an issue in my Google account.
I have a Galaxy S6 Edge, and I am having an issue with viewing photos on the phone. When I view photos with the Photos app (google plus photos app), zooming in does not reveal any additional detail and the photo looks very blurry. When I use the built in Gallery app, however, I can zoom in and see very crisp detail in the image. I know it isn't an issue with the image itself, because I can view it fine in the Gallery app. Even in the Photos app, if I view the details of the image, it shows the full resolution of the image, but when I zoom in the photo is very blurry.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just got the galaxy s6 and I am so impressed with the phone so far but there's one feature that doesn't seem to be here that was on previous Samsung phones. The ability to tap anywhere on the screen to take photos. "tap to take pics" on the settings screen. Am I missing this somewhere or have Samsung removed it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way I can look at my panorama pictures on Galaxy S6 on Lollipop 5.0.2 without the "logo" in the middle of the photo telling me it's a panorama? I have to press the logo, which zooms the photo and create a "video effect" of the photo.. How can I just look at the panorama picture completely without the logo in the middle?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have moved to a Galaxy S6 after being an iPhone user since 2009. I love the phone, but I can't exactly figure out how to transfer my photos to my Mac running OS Yosemite. I had installed Samsung Smart Switch, but it appears that this application is for getting information from my old iOS device to my S6. I am fully aware that I can use sources like Google Drive and Drop Box to upload the photos, but I would rather do this via USB.
Samsung Kies does not work with the S6 based on my initial use of that program. When using the program with the S6 I received a prompt to use Smart Switch as Kies does not work with the S6. A suggestion that was given to me today was use Android File Transfer for Mac. I read though that this will not work with the S6 either. I would be happy at this point to simply plug the device in and go to finder and work with the files like I can on a Windows machine, but I don't see myself using a Windows PC any time in the future.
I don't want to use photos of my contacts. Is there a way to get rid of the photo icon/avatar/placeholder that appears automatically with new contacts?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have deleted pictures from Photos (auto backup, not Gallery) and selected "delete everywhere", yet they keep coming back.
Also, is there a way to make Photos not also be copied to Gallery?
I want to delete all the auto-backed-up photos on my S5 and leave only the photos on device. Followed directions on google support page but I can't find a way to delete all by checking the first one and scrolling through to the last one - no shift key like using a computer to delete all. Turned off auto back-up and unchecked sync, but still can't do a mass delete.

I used to be able to take them off by going to my computer -> phone -> dcim -> camera But when I click the Camera folder, it seems like the phone automatically reconnects to the PC so all the windows close. Using "Samsung choose"
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but whenever I try to share something via messenger or email in android, it never links properly. So for example I took a pic with the stock camera and then tried to share it via Google messenger using the in app share button. Every time I hit the share to messenger button nothing happened. BTW it's happened multiple times with different apps (ie sharing links from Firefox.)

View 1 Replies View Relatedi dropped my samsung s6, in a thin rubber case, down a flight of concrete stairs, the screen is cracked from top to bottom, the back of the phone has also cracked, almost shattered, the camera glass is missing, slighly dented on one side, looks almost bent a tiny bit, maybe a millimeter or two, it wont turn on and when plugged into my computer is unresponsive, all i want is the gallery of photos from it
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have transferred some photos to the device via usb, and I have others in my OneDrive account. I have installed OneDrive app, but the pictures there don’t appear in the Gallery app. Also – the Photos app (Google's app) show the photos from Picasa that I haven’t thought about in years, but it also doesn't show the pictures from OneDrive and the pictures that are on my device aren’t shown in the main view as well – I have to switch to "Device folders" to see them. I am a Windows user and I use OneDrive for cloud storage. Taking that into consideration, how can I review all my images in one place (those I have transferred to my device, those that are in OneDrive and those that I take with the phone)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed the geo-location tag for my photos are quite a bit off from where my actual location is. Even though the pin is properly positioned on the actual location, the street name and house number are quite a bit off. Did they do this on purpose? The actual street that shows up on the detailed information for the picture is about 2 blocks from my house.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got a galaxy S6 today to replace my Nexus 5. I am having trouble with some of the functionality involving pictures. All the pictures from my Nexus 5 are on Google Photos. I have Google Photos selected under my sync options for my account, but I can't seem to get them on my phone. I would like them on my phone so that I can select them to send to people and such in my gallery when I want to send an image using Google Messenger or something.
I was also wondering if there was a way to use my contact pictures from google or other places (Facebook maybe) on the S6 stock Contacts app.
I didn't hit delete on any photos. They were there this am and now gone
